Finally got a chance to play with the Sheltering Tree stamp set. This was one of my favorites from the Occasions Catalog and the first stamp set I received was defective so had to wait for a replacement. These are the only cards I have made so far with this set and my first attempt. The tree is stamped with black stazon. The red glimmer paper heart was made using the heart in the Owl Builder punch. I used Chocolate Chip for this tree trunk. I think it is too dark. Tried Baked Brown Sugar on the following two and like it much better. I look forward to playing with this set more! Happy Stampin'- DeAnn P.S. Just had to share another quilt: This is a shop sample I made for a local quilt shop that I work part time at. Just saw it today quilted and it is so cute. The fabric is Somerset by Fig Tree & Co. for Moda. Thanks for looking!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I've been lazy all morning although I have managed to make five Christmas cards. I just chose not to do any chores around the house. My husband played golf today, so I thought that I should do what I love to do as well. I want to share this card with you created with the Sheltering Tree (137163) stamp set. I love this set and have found it very versatile. I think I have made cards for Valentine's Day, Christmas and Thanksgiving cards with it. It really is a must have to add to your collection. I stamped the tree first in Early Espresso then used sponge daubers to add Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz ink on the branches of leaves then used the leaves image all over by using Rich Razzleberry and Cherry Cobbler ink pads. It's hard to see on the photo but I added drops of glaze or glossy accents randomly on the leaves just all over to add another dimension to the image. It actually turned out really nice. Well, that's all for today, folks. I'm going to get ready to go to my mom's for our Thanksgiving dinner. Have fun and be safe shopping tomorrow!

Hi friends. I’m still playing catch-up, so this card is another project we did at my February Stamp Clubs. There’s so many reasons to love the Sheltering Tree stamp set, but that beautiful handwritten font is near the top for me. This card is certainly the ‘spring’ version, but just switch up your ink and cardstock colours and ... Read More about Sheltering Tree Card

I've been toying with a design idea for the new Sheltering Tree stamp set. It's all been in my head, and yesterday I finally got a chance to execute it. It took three tries before I was happy with it, but I really really love the final design. It's a "spotlight" card and I was trying to communicate the transition from winter to spring. The text, "you warm my heart" fit perfectly with the design. I say this card took me three tries, but that isn't because it's hard. I just kept playing with different colors. I first started with White cardstock on the front, but there was no contrast. Then I realized the perfect "winter" feeling was gray--Basic Gray to be accurate. I thought it might be fun to do a pictorial for this card as I have yet to get my technology up for video. Here's the skinny: The rest is just layering, which you can no doubt figure out on your own. Here's the material list for this project: Paper/Ink: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride Stamp: Sheltering Tree Accessories: Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies (the heart framelit), Sweet Sadie washi Thanks for stopping by. I hope you're inspired to make something today. Go stamp! Until next time, stay crafty! Alison
I was finally able to play with the stamp set Sheltering Tree and I’m very happy with how my card turned out. Every time I look at it on my desk, it makes me smile. I think it’s all of the pretty colors – I am definitely ready for Spring! Tip: When you are using […]

I think the fall season is around the corner. And it is time to start making Christmas cards soon. But before get crazy season to make Christmas cards, wanted to make some of fall season’s cards. Since I have been living in the tropical climate for a long time, I can't feel the season of
I got this idea from Debbie Currier, and changed a few things, so it's not an exact copy - but thanks for the great masculine card idea Debbie! The Sheltering Tree stamp set is a photopolymer set. The bike is actually 2 separate stamps - the black bike, and the body. Since you can see through the stamps, it makes lining them up pretty easy. I stamped the bike first, and punched it out with the 2" circle punch. Then add the ground and grass, and layer onto a 2 1/2" circle punched out of the same Very Vanilla cardstock. Emboss a piece of Always Artichoke with the Argyle embossing folder and assemble your card. Stampin' Up supplies that you'll need to create this: Stamps: Sheltering Tree, Sassy Salutations Ink: Early Espresso, Tuxedo Black Memento, Tangelo Twist, Pistachio Pudding, Always Artichoke Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Always Artichoke Other: Big Shot, Argyle embossing folder, 2" and 2 1/2" circle punches, Early Espresso 1/4" Cotton ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip Order your supplies on-line here.
