Today's card features the stamp set Butterfly Gala, Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper and the Brilliant Wings Dies.
A great big Texas HELLO to you! Thanks for swinging by my blog. Today's card was made for this blog hop highlighting the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle. I wanted to try something a little different this time, and ended up not stamping any butterflies. The first step in making this card was to cut a piece of Basic Black, Basic White and Gorgeous Grape Cardstock to 4" x 5-1/4". Then, use the largest butterfly die to cut the outline of the butterflies on the piece of Basic Black Cardstock. Make sure to gather the small pieces that fit around the edge. (Do you see where I lost one? ) Now, use the detailed butterfly dies to cut out the six butterflies. (Make sure to add adhesive sheets, if using them, before die cutting. I keep forgetting I have them) Once everything is cut, glue the outline to the piece of Gorgeous Grape. Then, glue the detailed butterflies inside the space for each one. It's okay that some are hanging over the edge. Just use Paper Snips (or other scissors) to trim the extra bits. Once you have the butterflies attached, glue the Gorgeous Grape Cardstock to a Basic Black 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base. The sentiment is from Simply Succulents stamps set. This set has some of my favorite sentiments! You can stamp the 'thanks' in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, die cut it, attach with dimensionals and basically be finished. OR, you can stamp the 'thanks' in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, sprinkle it with Clear Emboss Powder, set with Heat Tool, and then finish up. The inside shows off a butterfly die cut from a scrap of Gorgeous Grape. It also includes another sentiment (my favorite) from the Simply Succulents Stamp Set. I think I need this saying on a t-shirt! With a butterfly, of course. Thanks again for spending a minute of your day visiting my blog. Don't forget to swing by the other blogs included in this blog hop! (Links below) I hope you are inspired to create something soon! Happy Stamping! PRODUCT LIST

Thank you for joining us for our very exciting blog hop! Every month I hold an International Blog Highlight hosted on my blog. It's so much fun and anyone is welcome to join in as long as you use all current Stampin' Up!® product. If you want to be part of my International Highlights or find out more click HERE. Today I am hoping along with the winners of my highlights from early this month in February. You may be starting here or have come from the person before me in the hop - that is fine! You can still hop all the way around and not miss one. The list is at the end of this post. Here is the project that I made for our hop today - I love the free Botanical Butterfly Sale-a-Bration paper. This sheet I selected was the colour inspiration for this card. I cut out this DSP the same size as the card base (10.5cm x 14.9cm) and stuck this down. Next, using the Beautiful Day stamp set, I stamped the butterfly image using Memento Black ink onto Whisper White card stock. Using three colours from the DSP (Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather), I used the Stampin' Blends to colour the butterfly. I used the colour lifter as I really wanted to give a translucent look to the butterfly. Using scissors, I 'fussy-cut' around the butterfly and laid this on top of the DSP. It was probably a little too busy to have both patterns next to each other, so I added a layer of Vellum and mounted these to using dimensionals (above and below the Vellum). Finally, I stamped the sentiment using Balmy Blue and mounted to the card using dimensionals. I really like how this card turned out and hope you like it too! Happy, Happy, New Blog Hop Day!! Recently I was invited to join the Casually Crafting Design Team and their monthly blog hop! The Design Team is a group of independent Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world. The hop goes live on the 3rd Saturday of each month and I am excited to be a part of it. Our projects are aimed at beginner stampers and those who craft occasionally, but are also great as a spring board for intermediate and more avid crafters too! This months theme is Anything goes! I came up with a very simple but versatile layout on my card which can be used for many occasions. I chose the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set which is currently available and will carry over onto the new annual catalogue as well! I started with a basic Mango Melody card base (5 1/2 x 8 1/2" scored and folded in half at at 4 1/4") I stamped the large Butterfly Brilliance stamp onto Basic White card 5 1/4 x 4" with memento Tuxedo black ink. This was then adhered to the front of the card. I do love the large red rubber stamp with all of the butterflies on but must admit I may buy a second stamp and cut between the butterfly images so that I can use some of them individually too! I adhered another piece of Basic White 5 1/4 x 4" to the inside (stamp or add a sentiment to this also if you choose). I trimmed the large yellow butterfly using paper snips forms the sheet of 6 x 6" Butterfly Bijou Designer series paper , added liquid glue to the back of the body only and attached it over the matching stamped image. My sentiment was stamped with a sentiment from the Posted for you stamp set on a scrap of basic White card. I pennanted one end using paper snips and attached with dimensionals. If you don't have the Designer series Paper you can also stamp the large image and colour with Mango Melody for my first card, and my second card would be great for you! I used different supplies including Pool Party, Highland Heather, and Basic Grey blends to colour the Whisper White seam binding and the butterfly, 3 Basic Rhinestones and a sentiment again from the Posted for you stamp set. Thankyou so much for joining me - hope you have a try at my card layout and even take it a step further by using dies to cut out the butterflies, perhaps adding an embossed card layer, heat embossing for the sentiment or even some of the gilded leafing to accent the gorgeous butterflies. Check out the links below for more demonstrators who are sharing projects this month.
Thank you Kyle and Bruno for organizing this and allowing us to gather together virtually and share our projects! It has been a long long time since I pulled out the embossing paste and played. I wanted to showcase a few of the retiring colours, so I focused on Seaside Spray and Rococo Rose. What do you think? If you like this card please vote for me!!! Just click on the button or this link http://bit.ly/VoteForMeMarch21 I just love the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper and especially love that the Brilliant Wings Dies cuts out images in the DSP! So to make this card, I used our blending brushes to add Seaside Spray Ink, Mango Melody Ink, and Rococo Rose ink to a piece of Basic White card stock. I then made a template using cardstock and the brick dies from the Brilliant Wings Dies that I used to add the brick texture using the Shimmery White Embossing paste. The pictures below show the procedure (using slightly different colours- will be changing up the colours for my FB live this Wednesday), but it gives you the idea. I secured the "template" using old washi tape. I then took the shimmery White embossing paste and mixed it with Seaside Spray ink. Add one drop at a time and mix it until you get the desired color. The photo below shows using Just Jade, and it is one drop. A little goes a long way. Using the palette knife, I then filled in the brick templates on my card, scraping excess embossing paste away. Once the template is filled, you peel away the template leaving the card base with embossing paste. Leave for a bit to dry (so not tacky to touch) and then you can decorate the card as desired. After that, it is simply putting the card together. I glued the blended layer to a layer of Rococo Rose cardstock and attached a Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon using glue dots. I simply took an extra piece of ribbon and tied a knot (as opposed to a bow) at the top. The sentiment was stamped in Seaside Spray ink on a die cut from the Tasteful Labels Die and the butterfly was cut from the Butterfly Bijou DSP using The Brilliant Wing Dies. Both were adhered using dimensionals. I finished the card off with some embellishments from the Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins and splattered the card with Wink of Stella (I also painted the butterfly with wink of Stella, though it doesn't show up well on camera). Here is a close up. For the inside I kept it pretty simple and used the sentiment from Happy Thoughts. The butterfly I stamped using the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set in Seaside Spray and sponged it in using the blending brushes before I die cut using the Brilliant Wings dies. I added a bit of Wink of Stella and kept it pretty simple. The complete list of supplies are provided below. Please let me know what you think and come back Wed night to see different colours and make sure you let me know which one you prefer!!! Hello there stamping friends! Happy Friday! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. It's so good to have you here. I hope you're having a fabulous day and that you have all been safe and well. Today we over at Just Add Ink have another creative challenge for you. This week we are 'Just Adding Wings' - Just Add Ink #629 | Just Add Wings Challenge - suggested by fellow JAI team member Jo Stubbings. So anything that has wings you can use for this challenge. Birds, butterflies, fairies, insects, planes. Whatever winged thing you have in your crafting stash to help you with this challenge. I'm using the Butterfly Brilliance background stamp and the Brilliant Wings Dies from the Stampin' Up! 2022 - 2023 Annual Catalogue. These products have been around for a little while now. I've used the dies before but this is the first time that I've used the stamp. I've gone for a tone-on-tone look by stamping Balmy Blue ink on Balmy Blue cardstock. I then used a Blending Brush to add some Balmy Blue ink around the edges. You may notice that there is a slight puple tone around the edges too. This happened when I was using the blending brush to add the ink around the edges and there was Blackberry Bliss ink on my grid paper underneath from a previous ink blending session. As I kept adding the Balmy Blue ink the blending brush picked up some of the Blackberry Bliss ink as well for a gorgeous purple/blue ink blended edge. So note to self - make sure you use a fresh grid paper sheet when ink blending so as to not pick up any unwanted ink. Over the stamping and inked edges I added some white splatters using some watered down White Craft ink and a Water Painter. For the butterfly die, I die cut four of the butterflies in Basic White and then glued them together to create some added dimension. The butterfly then pops off the card for for a fun look. I've layered the white butterfly with some Vellum underneathe and then a Night of Navy embossed Happy Birthday sentiment. I've then embellished the card with some Natural Finish Ribbon (cut in half), Linen Thread and some of the Blue For Everything Fancy Sequins. There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the Just Add Ink Design Team on the JAI Blog. Go and check out to see what 'Wings' elements the JAI Design Team used. Cant' wait to see what your project will be! Thank so much for stopping by! Happy Stamping! Live in Australia?
