Hi and welcome! Today's post features the newest sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches team where our hostess this week is the talented Kim Singdahlsen. I've mentioned before that angled panels on cards make my eye twitch, so you can imagine how I felt when I saw three of them! I actually spent several days pondering how I was going to pull this off and in the end I decided to mimic the lines of the angles with a die. So I used this circle die to cut three lines in a white panel and once that was done, I adhered it to a Gravel Gray card base. I then die-cut the Caprice Heart dies from Grout Gray, Cement Gray and Gravel Gray cardstocks and layered them up. The sentiment was cut down from a longer one and stamped in black ink on the same angle as the circles. I positioned the heart so the centre opening was right over one of the circle cutouts. And that's my card! Simple and angled 😄 Thanks for visiting! The DT have some gorgeous cards - in fact when I added my card to the DT blog, I saw that Lee Ann and I had very similar ideas! Well, you know what they say - great minds think alike 😀 Products used: Stamps: More Essential Sentiments (MFT) Ink: Versafine Onyx Black Cardstock: White, Grout Gray, Gravel Gray, Cement Gray (MFT) Dies: Caprice Hearts (Birch Press Designs), Blueprints 21 (MFT) Cheers Karren
Hi friends! Are you ready for another Mojo sketch? As always, you're free to play along with any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on October 4, 2020. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. For today's card, I wanted to pull together some pieces and parts that were in my stash of papers. I had already printed and colored this sweet little Cocoa's Leaf Digi, so pulled some papers from my scrap pile that had a similar color theme. I distresed the edges of each of the panels with antique linen and vintage photo distress oxide and added a bit of texture to the image panel with Copic markers. Next I created a background with distress oxide inks. I typically do my smooshing with whatever acetate packaging I have laying around. For this card, I happened to have some press 'n seal leftover on my desk from placing die cuts. I decided to try it out, since I had never used it for smooshing and discovered that I love it! {grin} It transferred the ink differently, with more spread out splatters and less blobs. I loved the control it gave me and happily just kept applying crackling campfire, cracked pistachio, and vintage photo to my heart's content! Such a fun surprise! I finished off with a bit more blending of the brown inks, then stamped the Autumn Blessings sentiment from Autumn Splendor in the corner. Alrighty, now it's your turn! Happy Friday! Today is a new Sketch challenge over at Cardz TV. The challenge is anything goes...but you know I LOVE Mary's sketches.... I was inspired by sketch 17. First let me apologize for the lighting in the pictures. I was trying to capture all the texture on the card. I used CardzTV Lucky Dog Stamp set for this cute little card. I stamped the images and used my Scan n Cut. I then restamped with Versmark ink and heat embossed with clear powder, added glossy accents to the dog's nose and eyes.

Hi friends! It's time for a new Mojo Monday sketch! As always, you're free to play along with any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on June 28 2020. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs. My card started with these beautiful papers from the By the Sea collection. I picked a few papers and cut into various scraps and laid them out until I was happy with the layout. I then cut out a white circle for my focal panel and stamped with sentiments from the Thoughtful Words set. Below that I used one of the stamps from the Texture Tiles 3 set for the water, stamped in navy and then lightly blended with the same color of ink. The rope image is from the Peace Be Still set and I colored with copics and hand trimmed, adding some crystal clear lacquer pen accents to add a little dimension to it. The anchor is a wood veneer piece from my stash, I lightly brushed a ground espresso oxide pad over it then embossed with clear embossing powder for a little more texture. Everything is glued together on an A2 size card base. Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you enjoy creating with this sketch! Thanks so much for stopping by! Please join me for Mojo Monday! Hello stampy friends. I have a card today with the newest Sweet Sunday Sketch. For some reason I struggled with this one. Looks easy enough, but I had to walk away from my card and re-work it at least 3 different times. I know that happens some days, but in the end, thanks to my Lil' Inker Desings stamps and dies I am happy with the extra effort I put into this one. I used the new, All You Need is Love, stamp set. The large sentiments are a great way to fill larger spaces. Here I stamped it in Persimmon ink onto a Stitched mats-circle. I decided to add a sweet little vellum Stitched Hearts for a subtle little embellie. I made quick and easy panels with the Stitched Mats-square and Long and Skinny Stripes for my other layers. Papers are from Pink Paislee-Solstice. I've been waiting to use those hearts. So sweet. Here is this week's sketch. Please hop on over to Karen's Blog for all the challenge details. You'll also find TONS more great inspiration from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team. I hope you will join in on all the fun this week.
