The Nutshell Pub, Bury St.Edmunds Print and Mount This is a A4 print of an ink sketch I drew of the iconic Nutshell pub in Bury St.Edmunds, Suffolk, England. It has regularly been voted the smallest pub in the world and is unique and truly impressive pub. It is high quality detailed print on 220g heavyweight artist's paper. The print comes with a thick black (or white, select colour when buying) card mount so it is ready to frame. It also comes with a hand signed and dated certificate of authenticity and care sheet. This would make a beautiful and interesting work of art for your home or a splendid original gift. Each print comes in a cellophane sleeve and is posted in a tough board backed envelope. Worldwide delivery is free. Thankyou, Tom
Abbey Gardens 20-10-2013
The Abbey of Bury St Edmunds was once among the richest Benedictine monasteries in England. The site became home to the remains of the martyred King Edmund in 903 and the acquisition of such a notable relic made the monastery a place of pilgrimage as well as the recipient of numerous royal grants. The Benedictine abbey itself was established in 1020. Edward the Confessor substantially enlarged the privileges in its charter, and at the time of the Norman Conquest, Bury ranked fourth among English abbeys in wealth and political importance. When the abbey was surrendered to King Henry VIII in 1539, it was quickly stripped of valuable building material. Today it is a beautiful park, complete with footpaths, gardens, and playground.
