Here's my project for today's Blog Hop: I wasn't kidding when I said I love pink and florals, right? Here's how I created the card: I used a pink checked pattern from the coordinating paper pack and covered the card front with the paper I took a smaller piece of white cardstock and added some texture using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder I 'fussy' cut the floral arrangement, also from the designer paper pack I die cut some sprigs using the coordinating dies The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a dark green cardstock Finally, I added some of those Iridescent Pearls to finish off the card The Awash in Beauty Suite Collection includes a bundle (stamp set and coordinating dies), called True Beauty. The paper that coordinates with this suite, called Awash in Beauty, is simply stunning and contains all sorts of floral patterns as well as others that are not floral, making it versatile for any gender, age or occasion. Lastly, the Iridescent Pearl Jewels are a perfect complement to these products, adding elegance and shimmer to your projects. I hope you enjoyed the project and that it inspires you! Here is a fun fold latch card! I used the gorgeous Awash in Beauty DSP! Here is what the card looks like as you are starting to open it up. The flower is popped up with dimensionals. The flower is what holds the card shut by sliding the latch under the flower. This is what the card looks like when opened up! Check out the latch! I always like to find "other" ways to use punches. And I love the look when using this punch like this latch! How did I make the latch? I cut a 1 1/4" strip of Polished Pink card stock & punched it out using the Label Me Lovely Punch. Just slide the strip of card stock into the punch as shown & line it up so that there is just little notches on all 4 corners. Cool huh! Now the latch just needs to be tucked in under the flower again to hold the card shut. I think this is such a pretty card! Here are the supplies & measurements. stamp set: 'Peaceful Moments' (words) card stock: Polished Pink- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 3" & 7 1/4"- fold for card base Polished Pink- 1 1/4" strip- punch out for latch Granny Apple Green- 1 3/4" strip- punch out leaf with Bough Punch Basic White- 1 x 1 1/2"- stamp words onto Basic White- 4 x 5 1/4"- for inside of card designer paper: Awash in Beauty DSP 2 3/4 x 5 1/4"- flowers/leaves image 1 x 5 1/4"- pink/white flower/leaves 1 x 4"- pink/white flower/leaves for inside of card 1" strip- punch out blue little flowers with Bough Punch ink: Polished Pink other: Label Me Lovely Punch; Bough Punch; Opal Rounds; dimensionals; Wink of Stella I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday! Good Morning Everyone Happy Friday!! It's Fun Fold Friday and I've created a Vertical Flip Front Card. I've made this fold lots of times in the past in a landscape layout, but thought it would be fun to try a vertical one, and it gave me the opportunity to share this beautiful print from Awash in Beauty DSP. Measurements Merry Merlot Card Stock 1pc - 4 1/8" x 5 7/8" 1pc - 3" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8" scraps Basic White Card Stock 1pc - 5 3/4" x 4" 1pc - 5 3/4" x 2 7/8" scrap Awash in Beauty DSP 1pc - 5 3/4" x 4" 1pc - 5 3/4" x 2 7/8" fussy cut flowers ------------------------------------- Take the larger piece of DSP and adhere that to one side of the 4 1/8" x 5 7/8" piece of Merry Merlot card stock. Glue down a fussy cut flower arrangement along the bottom of the larger piece of Basic White and add this to the back of that Merry Merlot piece. Fold the remaining piece of Merry Merlot card stock along to score line and burnish well, creating a mini Tent Fold. Have the fold at the top, then adhere the remaining piece of DSP to the front. Pop another fussy cut flower arrangement along the bottom of the remaining Basic white, trimming off any overhang and stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink. Adhere this to the inside of the mini card. Place the 4" x 5 7/8" of Merry Merlot in front of you with the DSP facing up, then you need to adhere the 'mini card' to the centre of this. Have the fold line flush with the top and try to get the sides as even as you can. Bring in your Mini Cut & Emboss Machine and cut out three of the labels using the Geraniums Dies. One in Basic White and two in Merry Merlot. Stamp the centre in Merry Merlot ink into the centre of the Basic White label, the adhere the two Merry Merlot pieces behind, offsetting them to create a nice border. Due to the design of the label you won't get it even all the way round, but try to replicate how each opposite looks, that will help it look as even as it can be. Pop some dimensionals onto the back of this label and add it the to top centre of the 'flip front' section. Good Evening Everyone Tonight I am blog hopping with the Stamping INKspirations ladies and our theme for this month is 'Fun Folds'. As you may know, I love a good Fun Fold and was quite frankly spoilt for choice. I saw this card by Heather Forgan from Stamp with Nellie and I knew straight away I wanted to CASE it. It's a really great way to get the stepper card effect without a complicated method. I have used Heather's Exact measures, just changed the decoration and also I've used a dark case base, I've added an extra white panel to the back so there is somewhere to write a message I've used the Awash in Beauty DSP and the sentiment from Framed Florets along with Merry Merlot Card - all of which are retiring at the end of this catalogue. Here is Heather's Original Project that I have cased Measurements Merry Merlot Card Stock 1pc - 8 1/4" x 5 7/8", scored at 3 1/8", 6 1/4" & 7 1/4" 1pc - 3 5/8" x 5 7/8", scored at 4 1/8" scrap Basic White Card Stock 1pc - 3" x 5 3/4" scrap Awash in Beauty DSP 1pc - 3" x 5 3/4" 1pc - 7/8" x 5 3/4" 1pc - 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" 1pc - 4" x 3 1/2" ------------------------------------- Fold and burnish the score lines on the larger piece of Merry Merlot, taking note on folding the short score lines to create your 'peak' to the front Hold the card so that the small peak in facing up - adding the two pieces of DSP, then flip it around and add the basic white piece to the back. Add a fussy cut floral arrangement to the right hand side. I tried to get as much of the flowers showing as possible. Add the DSP pieces to the remaining piece of Merry Merlot. Fold and burnish the score line. Add a thin line of glue to the bottom of the back of the smaller piece and add this to the card - lining up the left edge with the left of the card base. Make sure that you don't add glue too far up otherwise you will stick the card closed. Flip this over and fold flat, then add another thin line of glue to the open edge of the overlay piece, then fold it over and adhere down - again make sure you don't add too much glue too far over as it may cause you to stick your card shut. Finally stamp the sentiment in Merry Merlot ink and trim, layer to a scrap of Merry Merlot card and trim leaving an nice border. Add this to the centre of the upper panel. I hope you have enjoyed my card today - please continue through the hop to get lots more Fun Fold Inspiration. Teri is up next, click below to head on over.
