What CAN'T you all do with Flourishing Phrases? Here several different ways I've used this set (again!) to create cards for a variety of occasions.
FabFriday is back with a great color combination for Christmas - Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Very Vanilla. While I chose to NOT make a Christmas card (and instead made a sympathy card with these gorgeous colors), I'd argue (well, maybe I'd just softly and politely suggest) that this card
Hello, Crafters. I hope you’ve had a great weekend. Today’s card is very similar to the card I shared on Saturday, which I called Petals & More Thinlits. They are also similar in as much as the Petals & More card I used the branch and leaves Thinlits die for the first time, and with ... Read More about Flourishing Phrases
Happy Friday to you! I have a card to share with you today! It's just a sweet simple card, but those always seem to take me the longest. I admire those crafters that can just whip up a project in no time at all. I fuss over every little detail. It is such great therapy to head into my little ole' stamp room and create something though, so I don't really mind. Are you a speedy crafter or a slow poke like me? Here is the card I created to send a smile your way: Something about this color combo just sings to me! I love any combo with pink in it, but this one just looks and feels soft and happy to me. Since I used lots of different shapes for this card to I tried to keep it simple otherwise. Your eyes are able to bounce around and appreciate the different shapes without feeling like it's too busy or overwhelming. I stamped the background in Blushing Bride to match the card color. Close up of the flower. I used the gorgeous (and I do mean gorgeous!!!) Flourishes Thinlits dies to make this. That set is extremely detailed and just so, so pretty!! I can think of tons and tons of upcoming possibilities for those! Here is a list of the supplies that I used to make my card: Product List Love & Affection Photopolymer Stamp Set [141545] Blushing Bride 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [131198] Old Olive 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [100702] Very Vanilla 8-1/2" X 11" Card Stock [101650] Silver Glimmer Paper [135314] Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad [131172] Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Pad [140931] Flourish Thinlits Dies [141478] Builder Owl Punch [118074] Stampin' Dimensionals [104430] You can click on any product up above to go straight to my online store and do a little shopping! One of my very favorite reasons to be a demonstrator is the amazing sample swapping that goes on whenever we gather together! Stampin' Up demonstrators are some of the most creative people in the world, and I benefit greatly from seeing their ideas. I love coming up with a cool card and making a bunch of them so I can trade with others. It's fun to think of the little card I stamped in my craftroom in Wisconsin traveling across the U.S. and sometimes even across oceans, to land in another demonstrator's sample basket. I'm sharing several favorites from my...

Two demos from our team dropped over today and we made up a set of Chat Wazelaki designed cards (with a few changes of course) Chat has great tutorials, you can see them at http://memystampsandi.blogspot.ca/ Here we are hard at work... Don't we make a wonderful mess?! And these are the cards we completed using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and corresponding dies. Plus the luscious Sweet Sugarplum 3/8" ruched ribbon. Pink and green are my favourite combination so I love this set! And it's not only the die cuts that are show stoppers, the stamped images are as well. I always need sympathy cards so I changed the sentiment on this one (it was congratulations), so of course that changed the placement of everything so I had to improvise a bit, but I like how it turned out. Funny the things you notice in photos - such as I really need to trim the ends of the ribbon on this card!!! I hope you enjoyed your visit, and be sure to check out Chat's blog, she has lovely ideas! Happy Stamping!
Stick with the classic color combination of Navy & White for a stunning sympathy card using the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

I did a new card yesterday for this week's Just Add Ink Sketch Challenge #335. I wanted to try out my new Flourish Thinlits and had absolutely no idea what to do with them! Happy Friday everyone and welcome to a new Just Add Ink Challenge. This weeks challenge is Just Add Stripes and what better stripes to use that the black and white bold stripes from the Stampin' Up! Pop of Pink DSP pack. Basic Black Melon Mambo Whisper White Striped DSP seems to be my go to of late. I just love the bold, stripes and then to mix it with something delicate just appeals to my card making design. The black and white stripe from the Pop of Pink DSP is another one of those DSP sheets that you wish was just a whole pack of that. I would buy it that's for sure. I've started with a Basic Black base and layered some of the Pop of Pink DSP, a melon mambo side and then the bold black and white stripe side. I've teamed up those fabulous stripes with the delicate leaves/flowers flourish from the Flourish Thinlits Dies. They look stunning die cut in the Gold Foil sheets. I've only adhered it by the piece under the sentiment. I like the fact that it isn't completely stuck to the card and looks like it is floating off the card. The flourish is layered with some of the new Burlap Ribbon, Melon Mambo Thick Bakers twine and some Gold Sequin Trim. I normally add sequins and other embellishments to finish off my cards but I though the flourish across the front was enough and didn't need anything else. Now head on over the to Just Add Ink page and see how each of the design team used the Just Add Stripes theme. You wont be dissapointed. Thanks for stopping by! These Flourish Thinlit dies are just so gorgeous - here is a CASE of the card on page 49 - I've added the doily behind, but the rest is quite similar. What do you think? And then, while I was at the Big Shot running it through with all the dies, I just kept going - so then I need to make a whole heap of cards to use those lovely die cut images!! Here I've just added a large medallion with some stamping - what do you think? I quite like this combination of the Mixed Borders stamp set with the Flourishing Phrases 'hello' greeting. And with this last card, I've tried to be a bit Artsy - and honestly I'm not really sure I've succeeded - but oh well, it's another card on my Flourish Thinlit Dies journey, so really, I did have to add it for you to see!! What do you think? The greeting comes from You're My Hero (the fundraising stamp set for RMHC - featured just inside the back cover of the catalogue), and those large flowers are actually from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set - I got so carried away with all the wonderful words and fonts, it took me a while for me to see these gorgeous large blooms!! Silly me!
I love showing the versatility of stamps by using a non-Christmas set for Christmas cards. This is the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. The swirls make pretty Christmas branches and the flowers look quite poinsettia-ish, don't you think? I've used Embellished Ornaments for my sentiments and also for the hanging ornament. The actual ornaments were too large for my card, so I simply punched a circular ornament from the middle of the stamped image. As soon as I saw our new In Color Emerald Envy, I knew it would be the perfect Christmas green. I've paired it with Real Red here, and a splash of gold.
