Read and Response: For our upcoming trip to Epcot, I've designed a "Read and Response" activity to engage students before the visit. Each student will read informational articles or brochures about Epcot, focusing on its unique features, attractions, and educational aspects. The goal is to provide them with a foundational understanding of what to expect, spark curiosity, and encourage them to think about how their classroom knowledge connects with the upcoming experience. After the reading, students will respond to reflective questions, promoting thoughtful consideration of Epcot's themes and educational opportunities. Scavenger Hunt: During our visit to Epcot, I've organized a "World Exploration Scavenger Hunt" to enhance students' engagement with the World Showcase. Students will form small groups and use a map to navigate through different countries. The questions are designed to encourage them to observe cultural representations, discover unique features, and connect with the diverse experiences each country offers. The scavenger hunt is an interactive and educational way for students to explore the rich tapestry of cultures within the World Showcase while having fun. Reflection Activity: After the trip, I've planned a "Post-Epcot Reflection" session. This activity involves students reflecting on their experiences, both in Future World and the World Showcase. Through guided questions, students will share their surprises, cultural discoveries, favorite attractions, and how the visit connected with what they've learned in class. This reflective exercise aims to deepen their understanding, foster appreciation for cultural diversity, and encourage students to make meaningful connections between their classroom knowledge and real-world experiences. The reflection session will provide valuable insights into the impact of the Epcot visit on their overall learning journey.
