Proper breathing is an important part of labor, as it can help you stay in control and comfortable during contractions. It can also help lessen the intensity of contractions and ultimately, help you to cope with pain more effectively. One of my favorite breathing patterns consists of taking a simple breath in, and then when you breathe out, you’re going to do a low guttural moan. Not only does it help you with the breathing technique and focusing on coping with the pain, it will also help to relax your pelvic floor. Try practicing it before going into labor, and let me know if it helped you.
