99K views · 3.8K reactions | This cranberry orange pull apart Christmas tree has all the flavors of Christmas, it’s perfect for sharing and it’s a show-stopper! 🍊🎄 I used my favorite cinnamon roll dough recipe to make this and added orange zest and dried cranberries into the dough and I swapped out brown sugar + cinnamon for orange marmalade in the filling. Here’s how I did it: I followed the @ambitiouskitchen cinnamon roll dough recipe and after stirring in the flour + salt, I added a tbsp of orange zest. Then I brought it to the stand mixer, mixed it with the dough hook for 7 minutes added 1/2 c of dried cranberries and then mixed it for 1 more minute. Once the dough was done rising, I divided it into 2 equal sections and rolled them out into triangles. This was the hardest part and you can use a knife to cut the shape, but I didn’t want to waste any dough. I took one triangle and laid it out on parchment and spread 2 tbsp of softened butter all over it, followed by about 1/3-1/2 c of orange marmalade. I laid the second triangle on top and then using kitchen twine, I made one line for the center with a line on each side that I would use for my cutting guides. I started at the bottom and cut strips of about an inch wide from the center out. I left a little bit at the top so it would maintain the triangle shape and then did the same on the other side. Next I moved the tree to a rimmed baking sheet and then from the bottom up, I twisted each section upwards. Once that was done, I let the tree rest for 15 mins and then brushed it with egg wash and put it into the oven at 350 for 25 mins. I turned it once at about 20 mins. I made the frosting included in the recipe, but added a tbsp of fresh squeezed orange juice and an extra tbsp of powdered sugar. I lightly frosted the tree when it had cooled for a few mins and then added a dusting of powdered sugar. If you want to skip the dough from scratch, cut two sheets of puff pastry into triangles, add dried cranberries in between your layers with the marmalade, and follow the same cutting and twisting method as I did. Bake it at 400 for 20 mins. Serve warm and enjoy! Drop any questions in the comments below! #holidaybaking #christmasbaking | Sarah Reed | Alexandre Desplat · Kristofferson's Theme
