I'm keeping that Christmas in July theme going this week … a sweet set borrowed from Marcia just had to be shared... MFT's Sketch #446 was the inspiration for my card design using her little Happy You Day Pure Innocence stamp and die. I've used their Drifts & Hills stencil to create a little walk in the Winter wonderland across the three scored panels from the Sketch - which you may have noticed has been flipped. The sentiment was borrowed from Stacey Yacula's Warm & Feathered Friends. Those sweet little snowflakes from Hand Lettered Holiday. It has really cooled off again, and the humidity has lifted - such a welcomed change! I may just have a few more Christmas in July surprises for you this week! =] Michele

Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Blog as well as
Check out what a colorful pop the Stampin' Up! butterfly punches add to this splashy congrats card. I used both the Stampin' Up! Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly punches. My inspiration was this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO446). I simply exchanged the stars for butterflies!
Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new MFT Sketch Challenge! This week, we are up to WSC446, and I have a loose interpretation on my card today! I created a beach scene based on this week's sketch, with the sky and the sea/sand as the two horizontal panels, and the sun and the empty sky as the two vertical panels. I cut a panel of Smooth White Card Stock using the A2 Rectangle STAX 2 Die-namics, and using Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink and the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil to create the sky. The "sea" is a panel of Blu Raspberry Card Stock, and the sand is a panel of Kraft Card Stock, first cut using the A2 Rectangle STAX 2 Die-namics, and then again using the Snow Drifts Die-namics. The sun was cut from Pineapple Prestige Card Stock using the Sunny Skies Die-namics, and I added that to the card and trimmed the excess. I stamped "Hello, Sunshine" from Beach Cutie, using Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. This little cutie was cut from No-Line Coloring Card Stock using the Beach Cutie Die-namics, and stamped her with Beach Cutie using Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. I colored her with Copic Markers and then popped her up on the "sand" using foam tape. Check out this week's sketch! Thanks SO much for stopping by! Please head over to the MFT Blog to check out what the rest of the team has created, and to play along!
Welcome! Today I'm playing along with a My Favorite Things Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge, WSC446. This sketch looks simple, but for some reason I was stumped. . . (Yes, I do tend to complicate eve
Hi everyone. I’m back this time with two submissions for MFT’s blog challenges. I will be submitting these cards to MFT’s Color Challenge 121 and Sketch Challenge 446. I created an ink blended background for card one, using three of the four colors of the challenge. I add the fourth color using a die cut sentiment. I thought the background was so beautiful, I created another which I die cut and mounted on an embossed background. A hot foil stamped sentiment and balloons bring in the fo
Happy hump day which means there's a new Color Throwdown Challenge going on! Lisa is our hostess this week and has this fun inspiration photo with green, yellow and coral colors to play with! These fun paper birds immediately led me to choose Reverse Confetti's Toucan of Friendship stamps and matching dies! I colored with Copics and used the June Sketch For You To Try for the layout. STAMPS: Toucan of Friendship (Reverse Confetti). PAPER: Cherry on Top (SU); Neenah Solar White. INK: Memento Tuxedo Black. DIES: Toucan of Friendship, Lacy Scallop Circles by Reverse Confetti; Stitched Tall and Skinny Rectangles by Lil' Inker Designs. We're thrilled to have the talented Audrey Tokach of Pink Ink Originals joining us in June as our guest designer! Welcome, Audrey! Hi all and welcome to Freshly Made Sketches for another sketch challenge. This week it's my turn to be hostess. I hope you like my sketch and it gives you all a lot of room to interpret how you wish. I made a birthday card for my sister using the sketch. And I pulled out WPlus9's beautiful Modern Anenomes set (every time I say "anenomes" I hear Nemo trying to pronouce it in the movie! Am I the only one?) I have to admit, this is one of my favorite cards I've made lately and I almost didn't want to give it away! I cut some masks of the anenomes and then positioned the stamps, one by one, in my Misti. After I stamped each image, I flipped the panel upside down and stamped in the opposite corner. I continued doing this, masking as I went, until I had all three flowers and the two leaf sprigs. After I colored the images with Copics, I replaced the masks and then slightly sponged with some Broken China Distress Ink. I also outlined the images with a Copic cool gray marker to make them pop a bit. The sentiment was one I'd made up earlier and didn't use. It is several layers of black die-cuts then spritzed with Glitter Dust. The rest of the sentiment is from a PTI set and white embossed onto black. The whole panel was die-cut with a stitched rectangle die and popped up onto the card base with foam tape. Thanks for visiting! The rest of the design team have made gorgeous cards using my sketch, so head on over and check them out. I'm linking this card up to the CAS challenge at The Flower Challenge as well as the Celebrate challenge at AAA Cards. Products used: Stamps: Modern Anenomes (WPlus9), Wet Paint (PTI) Ink: Intense Black, Broken China Distress, Versamark Cardstock: White, Black, X-Press It Dies: Celebrate, Stitched Rectangle Stax (MFT) Accessories: Copics, White EP, Glitter Dust Cheers Karren
It's crazy to think that we've made it to the last Wednesday in May! But here it is, nonetheless, with a brand new sketch for your creative pleasure. Below you'll find Sketch 282. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20. The My Favorite Things Creative Team has been busy getting creative! Let's see what they have up their sleeves for Sketch 282! Francine went for a very literal and super colorful rendition of this week's sketch. Using the Bottlecap Letters and Bottlecap Die-namics, she spells out a cheerful happy to celebrate someone's birthday in style. We've had a great month with Rubeena Naz as our Guest Designer! You can follow her at her blog A Rare Ruby for more of her inspiring designs. Let's see how Rubeena interpreted her last sketch with us: Rubeena's design is more interpretive of the sketch setting the end table, lamp, and couch from the Make Yourself at Home along the line created with the circles in the sketch. Her sentiment serves as the line at the bottom of the sketch. Such a cozy scene! Stephanie kept things über simple with two stamp sets and an array of cool colored inks in her gorgeous card. The repeated leaves from the Large Desert Bouquet stamp set make for a lovely greeting. This would be a fantastic design for a sympathy card. Instead of circles, Anna creates an adorable line of bear friends heading for a super duper group snuggle with one delighted bunny from the Snuggle Bunnies stamp set. The Split Triangle Background stamp creates the perfect subtle background for her design. Five colorful balloons against a neutral stamped and die cut background are cause for celebration on Keisha's birthday card. What a lovely way to say, "Hey, I'm glad you were born!" Five Mini Modern Blooms steal the show in this design from Kay. They look awfully glorious set against the patterned paper from the Tranquil Textures Paper Pack. Jodi transforms the circles into five colorful hearts in her rainbow inspired design. The heart from Blueprints 15 is the perfect size for five across horizontally on an A2 card. Those Blueprints sure do have a gajillion options, don't they? Congratulations, Tobi Crawford! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge.
