Shopping and restaurant lane in Kichijoji Tokyo. Kichijoji (吉祥寺), Tokyo is on the JR Chūō Line and Sōbu Line - about half an hour from central Tokyo. As well as shops, restaurants and bars, Kichijoji has many department stores and a whole complex of shotengai (covered shopping arcade) and shopping lanes (like the one pictured above.) Another major attraction of Kichijoji is Inokashira Park. Inokashira Park has long walking paths surrounding a lake. It is filled with both cherry trees and maple trees, making it an excellent park for both cherry blossom viewing in the spring, and seeing the autumn colors in the fall.
