This is a great resource to teach your students about the Statue of Liberty. Included in this download is a mini reader and great activity to make learning about the Statue of Liberty come alive! You may decide to have students read the booklet independently, in a guided reading group, or with the teacher. Key vocabulary words are: symbol and immigrant. The booklet tells how we acquired the statue, where she is located, what she meant to those who first saw her, what she stands for today as well as facts about her size and stature. After reading the mini reader, students create the flip book. They first answer the key questions about the Statue and then assemble it. There are directions included!
