I truly cannot believe Mignonne is 3 and Margot is (almost 1 on the 17th) !! We had the best time celebrating my little cowgirls this past weekend. Nothing is sweeter than a farm party! From hay rides, a petting zoo to pony rides we did it all. I had so much fun planning their big day! My girls will probably always have joint parties because they are almost exactly 2 years apart. Mignonne’s birthday is the 7th and Margot’s is the 17th. The first part was deciding the theme and something that would be fun for both girls. I decided on the farm theme because I grew up on the farm and I remember my mom having the sweetest farm parties for us when we were little so it was very nostalgic as well. Also, what better place to host a farm party than on the farm? My parents still live there so it was special to have the party at the same place in my parent’s front yard. For activities, of course we had a petting zoo with all the animals. Goats, sheep, bunnies, horses and even a llama. The kids absolutely loved it!!! The petting zoo and pony rides came form Jubilee Zoo. They were great! I would definitely recommend them and have them back. The animals were a hit with kids of all ages. The pony rides were great too. Lots of other kids loved the pony rides but Mignonne told me “Not Today” lol. She still isn’t sure about the pony rides quite yet! We had a white bounce house that we rented from Small Town Balloons. They are FABULOUS!! I had seen these white bounce houses with fun colorful balloons and I was on a mission to find one. After searching on Instagram, I found them and they were wonderful. They are located in Marshall, Texas and they travel. I cannot recommend them enough. They also install the balloons and you can pick your colors etc. The bounce house I rented was the “Boho” bounce house and they also have a “Castle” white bounce house. I’m already scheming when I can have them again! Maria, the owner was a delight to work with! There was never a moment that the bounce house was empty. The kids absolutely loved it! Mignonne is still talking about it. What would a farm party be without a hay ride? Brett may have had to go make two trips to the feed store to get about 40 bales of hay but “hay” it was worth it! The kids loved this too. It brings back so many memories. My dad “Pop” drove the tractor and made loops around the front yard. Now let’s talk décor and the flowers. My friend Brianna Belton can do no wrong!! I asked her for farm chic, not too country, but wanted the flowers to look like they were freshly picked out of a garden and wildflower like. I also wanted more “corals” than pinks and she knocked it out of the park! They were stunning and I am still enjoying them today. She added garland to the pony corral and helped set up for the party. I always love working with her. She has become such a sweet friend too. Almost forgot to add! She now does rentals for events and I rented the chairs and cart from her. She has really fun, different stuff. I always love getting custom tablecloths made for my events. It sometimes can be challenging to find tablecloths that go to the ground or come in the right design, size etc. I usually find my fabric at discount fabric stores or online from websites like Etsy. Vee Simmons at Louise Fashions has made things for me for years and made my tablecloth dreams come to life. She is so talented and makes stunning tablecloths. She made these for the party and I just love the large ruffle on the bottoms of each one. I think they look very “Ralph Lauren” like and that was the look I was going for! Social Bites Confections made the cakes! As much as I love baking, I knew I would be too busy and too stressed to bakes 3 cakes on my own so called my best cake gal to make these darling cakes for my girls. I told her to do whatever and she completely surprised me and matched my invite I drew perfectly. I love Heather, the owner, and if you need a cake, she is your girl! For the cookies, Hilltop Bake Shop, is my fav. The detail on these cookies is unreal!! I told her the same thing, do whatever and she knocked it out of the park. They are so cute and they taste pretty yummy!! I just love Blair’s attention to detail. She is so creative and did works of art on these cookies!! I love all the little details of parties. From the paper products to the signage, I try and not miss a thing. I just love creating and designing it all. I try and create a story and carry it throughout the entire event. I designed these cups and napkins and all the signage for the party. I had the signs printed at a local print shop on ultra-board and stacks attached to them. I propped them up by the different areas and I think it just adds that special extra touch. I found the highchair and chair that Mignonne stood in a local antique store. There are always usually some at estate sales so I would also check there and Etsy if you are looking for an antique high chair. The banner attached to Margot’s highchair is from Little Happies. She designed the cutest barn highchair banner ever! She has so many cute options and can customize anything. I love the gingham and the liberty floral print in the small pendants. It’s also such a cute keepsake. For food, I wanted to keep it simple for adults since the party was from 4-6 but wanted to make some little boxed dinners for the kids. I thought it would be so cute packaged in a gable box with a sticker and a bandana. Each box had Chick-Fil-A nuggets, a cookie by Hilltop Bake Shop, a juice box and some puffs. The kids loved them!! I didn’t have any left!! We also displayed them really cute on a cart that I rented from Brianna Belton Designs and made a cute sign that I framed that said the “Grazing Station.” Paperglaze Calligraphy did all the writing/calligraphy for the signs! For adults, I did Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and who doesn’t love Chick-Fil-A sandwiches?! For seating areas, I had haybales set up to sit on with vintage quilts that I had collected from recent estate sales and antique shops. I also had the chairs that rented from Brianna Belton Designs. For beverages I found the coolest beverage car called The Tap Truck. They are based out of West Monroe, Louisiana. It’s a vintage truck that has whatever you want on tap. I choose, lemonade, sweet ice tea, 2 craft beers and rose. They come to you and set up a bar. It was such a cool and unique idea and I’ll definitely be having them back! For the party favors I found the most darling Etsy shop called Sewnsohandmade. She makes the cutest stick horses out of felt. I ordered half blue and half pink. The kids ran around on them and I had my carpenter make a pony corral for them to be displayed. Each guest got to take one home. He also made the big red barn for pictures. Let’s talk attire. I’ll start with the girls. The Moppet Shoppe in Shreveport, Louisiana designed and had the girl’s outfits custom made. She even did the cross stitch on the outfits that matched the boots on the invite I drew. My favorite detail was the date on the back of Margot’s outfit with her “birthdate”. I basically want to frame this outfit hahah. I might, so don’t judge me. Many of you have asked me about my dress. Believe it or not, I found it at the Polo Ralph Lauren Outlet recently. You can’t purchase it online however it’s shown on the factory store website and you can call and purchase it over the phone. I’m wearing the XS. It’s so cute for a farm party!! Mignonne’s boots and my boots are from Miron Crosby handmade in Dallas, Texas. The party was such a success and most importantly the kids had fun!!! I know my girls will have so many fun memories when they are older. Birthdays are very important to me and I just love celebrating my little girls.
