Today I'm showing you the last three Sneak Peek cards for the series of cards I made using one of the new 2016-2017 Hostess Stamp Sets, "Pun Intended". We've seen three cards made with the 'Camera', and three cards made with the 'Edison Light Bulb'. The last image in this set is the 'Bee', and here they are! For this first card I used Tip Top Taupe, Pear Pizzazz, and the new In-Colour Peekaboo Peach. These three colours are also incorporated using one of the Gorgeous Grunge stamps to create the wide boarder on the side. The leaves are from the stamp set "Remarkable You", and the 'Tag punch' is no longer available after May 31st. The bees are stamped onto Peekaboo Peach with Tip Top Taupe and their chevron stripes coloured in with the Tip Top Taupe Stampin' Write Marker. They were also stamped onto vellum with Archival Basic Gray. The wings were cut as one piece with the head and bottom cut off and then attached to the back of the bees cut out without their wings. (I did this will all the bees for these three cards, in different colours of course) Using the colours of the bees, yellow and black, I created this layered card, using all the yellows except Hello Honey as it will no longer be available after May 31st. The edges of all these layers are adhered together with Tear & Tape, but the die cut circle edges are popped up with dimensionals. You can see some more details in the collage image below. For the third and last card for the 'Bee' series of this stamp set, I used Smoky Slate, So Saffron, and the new In-Colour Sweet Sugarplum. I have to laugh whenever I look at this card because I so carefully lined up everything with Washi Tape, but I suppose the cardstock moved anyway because the stamped arrows from the "Pun Intended" set ended up crooked/uneven. The flourish from First Sight looks great on the die cut heart. I love the dangley little hearts that I attached to the larger heart, and it works well with the Falling Snow texture folder too. It's fun to shake the card a bit to watch them shake about. Below you can see the details in the collage. Well that's it for the Sneak Peek of the Hostess set Pun Intended. I do plan on using this set again for non-card projects in the future, so watch for them! Thank you for stopping by today to have a look. Happy Stamping! SALE STAMP SETS NOT IN THE CURRENT CATALOGUE! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enigma noun [enig·ma \i-ˈnig-mə, e-\] : someone or something that is difficult to understand or explain -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Decidedly more funky than frilly, here's my tag for this month's Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2016. I used his Sideshow stamp set. While the technique remix features stamping on fabric, die-cuts and tissue paper, only the later was used for this project. You'll find the tissue in the lower and upper right-hand corners--it's stamped with text. I didn't wrinkle it like Tim did so you can't really tell where it is but that's why it's useful in collage pieces (because it blends in so well).

WOW! That was what I said when I saw this card designed by Ingrid Blackburn. I knew immediately I had to make it, it was too beautiful and eye catching to pass up. Featuring the Swallowtail Butterfly stamp, Dictionary and Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets in an eclectic mix that goes together so perfectly. I love the way the butterfly flows unto the back of the card for a little "surprise" for the recipient, and the cool way to make the Grunge Splatters look like watercolor paints. It's amazingly easy to do, check out my video below for the instructions. INSPIRATION SHEET Inspiration SheetIncludes all measurements and suppliesGrunge Swallowtail Surprise Card pdf

Yay it's nearly the weekend. I hope you have a glorious one planned peeps! And now for my final instalment in this week's non wedding theme - something old, something new, something borrowed and blue. Yeah I know all very tenuous lol! I hope you've enjoyed the creative inspiration anyway! So just to explain this theme - the blue is probably obvious given the card is predominantly stamped with various shades of Stampin' Up! blues - Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, with a splash of Melon Mambo and the new Daffodil Delights Blendabilities thrown in. The borrowed comes from the fact that this card was inspired by the make and take, that my fellow Pinkie Elaine Matthews, made for a recent training event organised by my upline Michelle Last. I hardly ever finish the make and takes at training as I am so busy catching up with everyone and I forgot to take a picture of Elaine's lovely project - so I decided to create a simplified version from memory! I hope you like it. I used the following Stampin' Up! projects for this card: Rubber Stamps: Swallowtail wood or clear, Gorgeous Grunge wood or clear, sentiment from Hip Hip Hooray Card Kit Card Stock: Whisper White, Bermuda Bay Ink: Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Melon Mambo Tools: Chevron Border Punch, Daffodil Delight Blendabilities (coming soon) Thanks for stopping by - don't forget about the retiring list and the joining up offer! x

Here they are ~ the beautiful swap cards I received! I just love each one! I don't know all the details, but I'll try to tell you a bit about each one. In the card above, Frenchie used the amazing Work of Art stamp set. Isn't it neat the way the flower looks like it's moving? These girls are excellent stampers and I'm so excited to receive their handmade cards! Windy used the Kinda Eclectic stamp set in her card above. This stamp set is one of my favorites! Susan has used the Circle Thinlits Die. I love the cards
Did you ever have a school assignment on entomology? I remember in elementary school we studied bugs and had to do an insect board where we pinned and identified a bunch of insects. My dad was a yard and tree man and he cut burlwood slabs on the side, so he was always finding interesting bugs and critters to show us. When I got that assignment he was so in his element! He found some of the coolest bugs out in the wood piles. So when I saw these new entomology stamps from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous, I fondly remembered that assignment and all the help I got from my dad. They also made me think of all the cool insect displays on the walls off the upstairs queue in Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise. So with that in mind I set out to make some fun bug cards. Both of these cards are very simple, but show that bug cards can work for anybody, not just little boys. Congrats on Your BUG Day - features the Entomology CMS328 and Glorious Bouquet CMS325 and the frame was cut from Distressed Woodgrain paper using the Sizzix Alterations Stacked Deckle Thinlits. I used the leaf corner of the Glorious Bouquet for the large background and stamped it in Peeled Paint, then in Brushed Corduroy in spots on the smaller background. Inside the frame I stamped the script as the main background, then stamped the insects on top of it in Ground Espresso Archival Ink. I stamped them a second time on Distress MM Heavystock and then watercolored with my Distress Markers. I cut them out and popped them up for dimension. The sentiment is from Glorious Bouquet, but I cut B U and G out of the second stamping of the sentiment to cover the word big with bug just for a fun play on words. The second card features Botanical and Batik CMS327 and Entomology CMS328. The large background is the Entomology script stamped in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and then lightly blending in the background with the same color. The smaller background is the Botanical background stamp with several green colors applied to the stamp and then a few light sprays with water before stamping onto Distress Watercolor Paper. The background was then cut out using the Sizzix Alterations Stacked Label. I again stamped the insects onto the background with Ground Espresso Archival Ink kissed with a little Black Soot Archival and a second set for Watercoloring and cutting out to pop up for dimension. There you go! Two simple cards and all three stamp sets are available now.
This was the first time I have inked up this stamp – I love tulips and have recently seen bundles of them for sale in stores! I have resisted buying any yet – but will probably be making a purchase soon! Spring is coming – we know that – although it’s another cold day here […]

This week at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blogspot, the amazingly talented Corrrie Herriman has set this weeks challenge to use your stencils, use them with paint, ink, modelling paste, or even gesso!!. well....as usual, I have a huge supply of stencils, and like always, too much choice leaves me with brain freeze!!! and then...which fabulous Stampotique stamped image to use with which stencil???....oh my Lord...the options are endless!!!! I finally chose to use the Memory Box Honeycomb stencil on some corrugated card, I had a riot with spray ink, brushos, acrylic paint, until I got the desired look. To place my Stampotique MEDIUM BEES on the very uneven surface, I stamped them onto tissue, then adhered them to my surface with matte glaze, then stamped the wings onto parchment paper, cut them out and added them onto the bee image. The sentiment is computer generated.
My blog is a place of inspiration where I share my love of stamping and hopefully inspire others.
I found that I hadn't shared the cards from a shoebox swap event I held with my DOstamperSTARS team at the Stampin' Up! Milwaukee On Stage event. These gals all came in from the surrounding states... MN, WI, IL and MI - worth the drive! We actually teamed up with my friend and fellow demonstrator Susan Campfield's team for a fabulous swapping & pizza event. Here's some of their swaps. As you'll see, the lovely "Remarkable You" stamp set was a favorite! I've more of them to share later in the week. I'm also looking forward to seeing more STARS...
