Are you excited to enter into a new year? I am! I see some wonderful new adventures waiting for me just around the corner! I have decided to start a year long personal challenge. I have chosen 52 words and listed them in random order. I will use one of these words each week as an art journal inspiration prompt. I have created a hashtag to go with this series: #artlove52. I will be adding photos to Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram with this hashtag. If you would like to join me, please do! Add the hashtag #artlove52 to your posts so I can find them! I would love to add some random #artlove52 creations from other people to my blog posts, so please join in! Please feel free to save the image above and print it out for yourself!

Is it important to you that you find your own style as an artist? Why or why not? If it is, how do you do it?
With all these moon eclipses, and solar flares, I have been sooooo tired. No energy to do anything. Well, I am ok now, but gosh, it lasted about 2 weeks. Preceding that, I have had a cough for 6 weeks. Nothing was getting rid of it. It aggravated my asthma. I thought is was also the wonderful weather (not) that we had been having. Then Mr Sun came out just in time for the Bank Holiday...how gorg was that. Mem and I took a trip daan to The Witterings in West Sussex. It was beautiful. We also went to Chichester Marina, and decided we are going to sell everything, and live in a floating house on the little canal there, and you can only access the house with you own little floating bridge...sooo cute..ok well maybe in about 10 years time The little pully bridge Feeling so much better now...surrendered to whatever was going on, and I found Ooolong tea.....miracles abound....cough has almost gone, and energy levels are so much better. And creativity was on a all time high. I am finding new ‘likes’ all the time, and texturing my pages, with torn paper is a big like. And so into neon paints, and pens, so here are my latest pages And some great quotes. This first one was so powerful for me. To speak my truth, and to be heard. The more I stand in my I am, the more what I truly want, is manifesting. Loving yourself so much that you can be you, completely. It is so good to do this, so so good Stay blessed and loved

Welcome to my Journal Share video today where I am making an abstract "Moon" themed page in my A5 Art Journal. This size is definitley one of my favourites to work in but that doesn't stop me from buying others of course!
I was in a mojo funk yesterday and didn't actually make anything to share today (probably due to the BEAUTIFUL summer weather going on outside and the fact that I was not out in it) so I decided to do a post on, "Things I am Loving Right Now" after which I will be going outside to enjoy the sunshine! This print these chairs looking for new kitchen chairs at present...love the juxtaposition between the farm table (which I have) and the modern chairs. A new chandelier may be in order too! this series I purchased the 8 part series on iTunes ($13.99) for my recent trip to Chicago. Did not want to stop watching. Classic story by Dickens and as always, beautiful costumes, rich characters and cinematography by the Brits for Masterpiece Theater on PBS. So worth the money. ,,,,, If you want to purchase on iTunes as I did, just type the words Bleak House in search. this class by my friend Mou this recipe this book I bought The Greater Journey on the recommendation of my friend Sally, from Delaware. The book by David McCullough focus on Americans that lived in Paris between 1830 and 1900. So interesting how the author weaves medicine, art and science into the timeline of history. Let me just say that I have used Google on numerous occasions to look up pictures of the paintings described in the book (love when I have actually seen one in person), additional information on the Franco-Prussia war as well as the ever valiant American ambassador Elihu Washburne (someone should make a statue of him). these shoes just bought them. on sale. fabulous with navy dress. enough said. this art card 8 x 10 art card with envelope for mailing this inspiration check out Philippa's beautiful wallpaper here this advice Now get out an enjoy the sunshine... (except for Deb who lives on the sun). Now that I think about it, I will be flying to Arizona next week and therefore I will be on the sun with her! I better start drinking water now! (personally, I think I might feel better about having to be in Arizona in August if we have bruschetta for lunch at Postino's... no one does it better!). cheers for a great week everyone! paula

day 30 b ( the end !!!) Day 30 a Day 29 b Day 29 a Day 28 c Day 28 b Day 28 a The last day of my challenge to fill a sketchbook in 30 days ! Hurrrraaayyyyyyy ! I did it ... The sketchbook is full and I should have enough ideas for bigger paintings for the next few months :) I have enjoyed that project very much ... Not only to have FINALLY a full sketchbook, but also the challenge to come up with new ideas, even when you think "Today I can't think of anything" ! I also had such an amazing response from my 'Red Bubble' friends, that I have to recommend to other artists who are not on Red Bubble to try it out ! I am somehow already missing my sketchbook ...I think tomorrow I will have to get a new one.... ;-)

Hi everyone, sharing a layered textured page from my large dylusions journal today. Following on from a glorious autumn, the weather has turned blustery and we are probably not far off from some frosty weather. There are always patches of green around even in winter and I love a crisp morning where the frost has touched everything. I was reminded of this as the layers built up on my pages and a frosty green scene appeared, a white frosted bird and foliage just seemed a perfect touch alongside the sentiment. I used a leafy clarity stencil with colour blooms and then added further stamping and stenciling with coordinating fresco paints. Stencils with clear gel medium and a sprinkling of rock candy distress glitter gave dimension and added to the frosty feel. Book text and washi tape were also used in the background. Some stamping in black archival. The foliage is a memory box die which I scraped some puff paint on and added a sprinkle of white embossing powder before heating. Same treatment to the PaperArtsy bird diecut. A little shading and finally the sentiment stamped under the 'branch'. It's a little hard to see the subtle sparkle, but it's there. It's been lovely to have some fun creating and be able to enter this in the following fabulous challenges. Craft Stamper - Take It Make It challenge - take a stamp and Anything Goes for November. Mixed Media World - Anything Goes Try It On Tuesday - Create a Scene Mixed media Monthly Challenge- all about Texture As always, thanks so much for stopping by and hope it is peaceful wherever you are....
