One of a kind handmade, hand painted beautiful 100% Crepe de Chine Silk Scarf. Each scarf is hand painted and steam set for a beautiful piece that will last you many years to come. Please note, due to the handmade nature of this garment, minute flaws may appear in the weave or design. First, each silk is pre-washed with professional silk detergent in order to remove any natural residue from the silk making process. Second, each silk is ironed flat and then ironed or stretched in preparation for dyeing. Next, each poodle is hand stenciled with resistad, and allowed to completely dry overnight or ironed dry in order to set the lines of the design. Once dry, the dyes are mixed to create custom color palette and the scarf is carefully handprinted. The hand painting process takes anywhere from a few hours to a few days. After the silk is painted, it is allowed to dry for at least 24 hours. Once dry, each silk is carefully laid upon newsprint paper and rolled into a tube. The silks are then placed vertically in the steamer pot and allowed to steam for at least 2 hours in order to set the dye. After steaming, the silks are removed from the newsprint paper and washed with a professional detergent to remove any residual dye as well as the resistad. After washing, the silks are washed again with a professional softener in order to return the softness and luster to the silks. The final step is to iron the silks once again in order to return them to their beautiful sheen and softness. Care instructions: Avoid spraying with perfumes. Steam or iron out any wrinkles. If dirty, gently and wash with a silk safe detergent, or dry clean. After washing, iron while still damp.
