Note on reverse (below): "Asch in Belgium, June 1918, 16. G. Course". A young observer / gunner standing inside his position aboard a two-seater training aircraft gives us an excellent view of his Parabellum MG14. The air gunnery school at Asch was established in 1917 for observers destined for artillery units. Prior to air-gunnery school, the observers attended the Artillerie Fliegerschule at Jüterbog.
