In design pre-production talks for `Miss Julie` , Angelique Rockas made one demand on the designer David Burrows , lecturer of design at the renowned Wimbledon School of Art and Design , and who had responded to an ad put in by Angelique in `The Stage` - that he set the play outside in the yard. David Burrows achieved this beautifully in his plain and simple set. The very effective lighting for this production was designed by David Lawrence , who also responded to the Stage ad. David Lawrence was to go on and design the ligting for Maxim Gorky`s `Enemies`
