If you’re familiar with the mellow tanginess and crumbly, yet creamy texture of Wensleydale cheese from Yorkshire, England, then you’re going to fall in love with our Windsordale. It's made right down the road from us in Windsor County, Vermont. The cheesemakers follow a recipe from the 1800s and use a peg mill to tear the curd, which results in a firm, yet flaky, texture—a technique that's not used anywhere else in the United States. Available in two flavors: dried cranberry and dried blueberry. Authentic "peg mill" cheese Mellow tangy flavor Crumbly, yet creamy texture Available in two flavors: cranberry and blueberry 7 oz. block Made in Vermont

Gayle Mill, constructed in 1776, is now a Grade II* listed building, a scheduled monument and came third in the BBC's 2004 Restoration contest. Originally a cotton-spinning mill it was converted to a sawmill in 1878. It is the oldest structurally unaltered cotton mill in existence, and its Thomson Double-Vortex turbine built by Williamson's of Kendal in 1878 is believed to be the world's oldest surviving water turbine still in its original situation. The mill has been restored and is now open to the public. Gayle is a hamlet sited a mile south of Hawes in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. It was originally a farming settlement but the population grew during the late 18th century to around 350 with employment in local quarries, coal-mining in Sleddale and in this water-driven cotton mill on Gayle Beck. The population of the village later contracted. Source: Wikipedia
On offer is this lovely collectible vintage map. There are lots of rips/ tares/ creases/ holes/ hand written small markings (dots etc) and staining all over but as shown in the photos it has a lot of aged charm and character still. There's also a chunk missing from the front cover. It has a traditional rectangular shape when folded up with the front cover entitled "Ordance Survey New Popular Edition one inch map Wensleydale sheet 90". When opened up it reveals the colored paper road map which is actually quite a size! Great detailing and a superb reference piece of the time. When folded up it measures 20cm (8 inches) in length. A superb piece of travel nostalgia ready to be collected and enjoyed once again! The postage quote is for "Standard Airmail" - no tracking number but full insurance. I also offer combined postage options so please do get in touch if you're interested in more than one item/ lot. As always all my shop items are open to offers - I can "reserve" an item for you and accept layaway payment options to suit every budget. Thank you for taking the time to view my shop :-)
