(Please note: Due to current workload it can take 10 or more weeks to get to this shrine please be patient we can only work on a few shrines at a time and we won't skip on quality. Send us an Etsy message if you are hoping to get this at a specific date). (THE POST IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS LISTING but is available on our other Etsy listing) (Please note: Etsy allows 10 weeks to ship an item. But currently due to high demand this shrine may take longer than that, but we will do our best to try to keep it within the 10 weeks suggested by Etsy. Thanks) This has been our best seller. Large, beautiful, wonderful. Our Large Alpine Shrine is 29" high from roof peak to bottom of the shrine. (THE POST IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS LISTING) The roof barge board and lower front plate iis carved with a Fire Weed carving symbolic of the Holy Spirit. The shrine is made of Western Red Cedar and is fully doweled with over 70 Black Locust Dowels. No metal screws or nails are used in the construction. The shrine is constructed to be very durable in an outdoor environment for many years. The roof is solid cedar with roof shingles carved into the solid cedar. There are no fillers or plywood or any other cheap construction. This is the real deal. We frequently have customers write us about the level of detail and quality of construction. Photographs do not do the shrine justice. We sell more shrines when people can actually see them in person. This is true Old World craftsmanship of long ago. Made in the traditional European Alpine style, with our own unique detailed design. The carving is relief carving not laser etched into flat wood. Similar shrines sold in Germany cost well over $1,000.00 The Hummel Wayside Devotional series is reminiscent of this shrine. We have tested the shrines now for over 14 years and we know that with only a minimal care they can be kept in new like condition in the outdoors for decades. To maintain the color of the shrine, periodic re-staining is all that is needed. For a shrine this size this takes about 10 minutes to do, and you will probably only need to do this every other year or even less often. We provide detailed maintenance instructions. Carved posts are available for separate purchase. The shrine comes ready to mount to a post or wall. The shrine is fully assembled and comes with mounting hardware. The crucifix is removable for cleaning. We have over 14 years experience in shrine construction and have studied the construction techniques historically used in Europe. We can customize shrines and prayer plates for an extra charge. The shrine pictured is fully representative of the shrine that will be sent to you. Call us at 812-384-3813. Wayside Shrines is a family owned Catholic woodworking business dedicating our work to the Greater Honor and Glory of God and his Holy Church. Our full web site is www.waysidshrine.org Call us to see if we can make you one for that special gift. Families often group together to buy one for mom, dad or grandparent. This is a truly unique gift that is not available in stores. We sometimes get very busy and can't always take last minute orders, so order early. Please note we carve each shrine individually and often encounter heavy demand for our shrines. It normally takes 4 to 8 weeks for us to get a shrine out to you, but it can take longer. We try to make special date requests for Christmas, birthdays and other special occasions but this is not always possible. Please call us if you need a shrine by a certain date to see if we can accommodate your date. Our phone number is 812-384-3813. Please note that the shipping charges are based on the 48 contiguous states of the United States. If you are in the United States but outside of the 48 contiguous states we will have to contact you to ask you to pay any additional charges above our standard shipping charge or for additional charges for listings where we offer free shipping. This applies to Hawaii, Alaska, or any of the U.S. territories.
