Today I share a red nail art with dry marble hearts design. Let me show you it step by step. 1. Apply base coat to protect your natural nails: 2. Paint one of your nails red and don't let it dry! We need wet polish: 3. Place 4 white nail polish blobs over the wet base, then place 4 small baby pink blobs on the top of the white ones: 4. With a needle shape the hearts: 5. With a nail art brush and nail polish remover we can fix the edge: 6. Apply top coat to protect the manicure from peeling and to keep it shiny and glossy: What I use: 1. Essence Pro White Active base coat, 2. P2 red and white nail polishes, 3. Essence baby pink nail polish, 4. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat, 5. Dotting tool, 6. Sewing needle. Happy Saturday! Hope you're enjoying your weekend so far :) Sorry for my disappearance this week. I'm still working at the hospital and it's quite an adjustment to wake up at 5am, especially if you're not a morning person :( Anyways, today I wanted to share a fun idea for those that have not mastered the water marble or just plain hate dealing with all the cleanup. I was talking to some friends at LHCF that wanted to do a water marble on toes. I never thought to do this but another member had seen CND do it on wax paper. The idea is to create the marble on paper then transfer it to your nails. I'm not sure why they called it the Butterfly Effect but it looked pretty easy to do. It's the same concept as ziploc bag decals: create your design on a ziploc, allow it to dry, then transfer it to your nails. It's not a pretty as the water marble but it's a good substitute. I may be able to do better designs with practice but it's not bad for a first try. I included a tutorial below. Enjoy :) Tutorial Apply your base color to a zip-loc bag. Add a few more colors to marble with. I used Avon Blue Shock, OPI Banana Bandanna, Studio M Energy Star and China Glaze Custom Kicks. Use a toothpick and draw lines to combine the colors. He're the finished look. Allow to dry a couple of hours. Apply base color while waiting for the marble to dry. Once dry use tweezers to lift from plastic. You can either peel off the entire section or cut off a piece at a time. I recommend cutting a small piece. The polish is thin and will fold over on itself. Apply the cut section to your nail. Your nail polish must be slightly wet/tacky in order for the marble to adhere!!! Press the marble into the tacky polish like you're applying a nail decal. Remember to cover the edge. Use your tweezers or toothpick to push through. I like to use scissors but I don't recommend them. Tear off the excess and tahdah! Apply your favorite topcoat and don't forget to cover your edges. You're done! Let me know if you try this out. I would love to see different colors and designs!

SIZE:39x23.5x74mm Weight:56.4g Why Choose Aliver Liquid Latex for Nails? Easy to apply in a few quick strokes 60s quick dry Low ammonia odor, but can't feel the odor during use Peels off in ONE piece Be durable enough to work with sponging and marbling nail art NOTICE: Take a skin test and wait for minutes to check for any allergies before applying. Cold weather may dry out or freeze the liquid, soak the bottle in warm water (not boiling water) for 4-5 minutes before use. Shake the bottle to keep the gel evenly before use. Easier to peel off when gently tear from one side of your nail. Tighten the bottle after each use. Avoid direct sunlight and heat, and placed in a cool dry place. Tips: Make sure no liquid latex touches the nail bed, otherwise it will stick to the nail bed and create a jagged tear line. Do not wait until the nail polish is completely dry before peeling, or the dried nail polish might tear from nail bed, resulting in a less than perfect look.
Remember the water marbled nails tutorial? What a pain in the butt, eh? I got some great tips from my last post but it's still a bit of a chore to do the whole water technique... Well, I decided to try out the dry method which is similar to last week's diy nail decals technique and I feel like it turned out a bit better than the water method... I don't know why I keep trying this look though because I don't even like the results. hahaha, but see for yourself if you think it's worth it! here's what we're going for! start with a few colours and a ziploc bag Start with drawing a glob. Then start drawing rings around the glob... Alternate colours, drawing a target on the ziploc baggie Then take a toothpick and start pulling the wet nail polish into the center. You can drag the polish inwards or outwards to form that "marbled look" I decided to do a bunch of circles of designs just in case I ran out! And then since it's probably a bit thick, let it dry for a few hours (I left it for 24!) after it's completely dry, you should be able to peel the nail polish off of the plastic. If it's a bit stuck, you can stretch the plastic a bit or use some tweezers to work on lifting a corner. Try to keep it in a single piece. Then you'll have these weird flaps of nail polish! Taking some sharp scissors, cut some pieces that are generally the size of your nails. It's better to cut them a bit larger than your nails than smaller! Continue cutting up your patterned nail sheets & you'll have your own DIY nail appliques, just like the ones you can buy! :) To apply, just put on a single coat of nail polish... and stick the nail applique onto your nail & press into place. You can use a toothpick to press it down around your cuticles. Do the rest of your nails & let them dry for a minute or two. Then just press the remainder of the nail applique off of your nail. You'll be left with a bit of a bumpy nail job & some messy cuticles but you can clean up the edges with a q-tip & polish remover. Then just top coat & you're done! What do you think? Does dry marbling look easier than water marbling?! Is this even worth it? I'm not diggin the look that much but it's finally a way to get the water marbled look on your toes! hahaha xoxo
When I was planning this color in the series, the working title was "Orange-gasm" - right up to the point that I actually started experimenting with the different polishes. And then I was about ready to pull out my hair ... I definitely was not left with a warm fuzzy feeling LOL. It was outrageously difficult finding 5 colors that worked together & out of all the new oranges that I've recently purchased, I was only able to use one of them, the rest just wouldn't cooperate. The colors I finally ended up using were Wet n Wild Magic Trident, China Glaze Sun Worshipper, Orly Orange Punch, China Glaze Free Love & China Glaze Street Racing: A lineup of the bottles: My favorite nails: left thumb & middle, right ring & pointer: And the tutorial: I went with orange because it won by just a little bit in my informal poll =) Yellow was very close though, and will be upcoming soon. Thanks for reading. ~Colette
