Im Gespräch mit der britischen Ausgabe des 'Cosmopolitan'-Magazins erzählte der Darsteller bei der Warner Bros. Studio Tour 'The Making of Harry Potter': "Das letzte Mal, als ich hier war, war der Raum mit 60 Kobolden gefüllt. Einige von ihnen waren meine eigene Familie, nämlich meine Frau, mein Schwiegervater und meine Kinder Annabel und Harrison, sie spielten alle Kobolde. Wenn ich hierher zurückkomme, denke ich immer an den Spaß, den wir bei den Dreharbeiten hatten." Seine Tochter und sein Sohn sind zum Beispiel in der ersten Gringotts-Szene des Films zu sehen, in der die Türen aufgehen und einige Kobolde durch die Halle laufen. Die Rolle des Griphook hat dem Darsteller selbst besonders viel Spaß gemacht. "Es ist schön, einen Bösewicht zu spielen und einen Einfluss zu haben, wie es ein nur ein Bösewicht in einem Film haben kann. Das sind immer die, an die sich das Publikum erinnert, und zu denen wir seltsamerweise hingezogen sind. Es macht so viel Spaß, sie zu spielen, weil du Dinge machst, die du als Person nie tun würdest. Ich bin überhaupt nicht wie Griphook, hoffentlich."
