A little change from my Quilt Archaeology promotions (which I love), I thought I'd introduce something new with Doll Bed Dowry. What's up with the name? Well, any little doll and her bed would need a selection of quilts, and isn't that what a dowry is? It was said, way back when, that a woman needed thirteen quilts for her dowry, with the last one, the thirteenth, being the most lovely of them all. I thought it a fitting name for a pile of lovely doll quilts. The dowry quilts are not based on an old quilt, like Quilt Archaeology, but are of my own design. Christmas Eve - by Pam Buda of HeartspunQuilts.comThis quilt, called Christmas Eve, is the first in the Doll Bed Dowry series. Just like Quilt Archaeology, the pattern is free until Monday. Quilt size is 16" x 16" Place an order for $45 or more (not including shipping) of any quilting goodies on my website, and I'll include the kit absolutely FREE! No need to add anything to your shopping cart, I will include it with your qualifying order. REMEMBER to download your FREE Christmas Eve pattern before Monday, December 4th. After that, it is still available for a nominal fee. Here's what's new..... This Quilted Small Warm Winter Wishes Table Runner features the Warm Winter Wishes Moda line of fabric designed by Holly Taylor. It would make a beautiful addition to any home. This quilted table runner features beautiful a variety of prints showing elements of nature. This could be just the right addition in time for Christmas and winter! Fabric, thread, and batting are all 100% cotton. Spot cleaning is recommended or wash it on a gentle, cold water cycle and dry using a low heat setting or line dry it. I also recommend using a Color Catcher dye-catching sheet with it in the wash to prevent the darker colors from bleeding. Press as needed. Dimensions: 11” x 23”
It’s the perfect season for cozy winter stitching!! I think this would be really cute embroidered onto a pillow or quilt. Or make a wall hanging! Wool would be really great for this, too. You could also use it for a coloring sheet. Get my coloring tips in this video, and tips for using watercolor […]

The half square triangles will be made larger and trimmed to size. I used a Bloc-Loc ruler which you can find here. WARM WISHES free pattern https://tinyurl.com/2y7ewmya A friend emailed she was going to make a quilt using the "Warm Wishes" pattern. She commented how each quilt looks ,different according to what fabric you use. Warm Wishes is a fall back pattern for me when I need a quilt quick. I love you can feature specialty fabrics because the pattern frames the blocks, unless you choose wrong in the framing fabrics. The Quilt on the left is an example of my poor choice. Or was it a poor choice? I didn't notice till the quilt was going together that the large black strip in the middle destroyed the framing. I had thought I did great framing the blocks with green. When I finished and looked at the quilt I realized the black hadn't taken the roll of background behind the framed blocks. I added the yellow in the border to draw the eye away from what I considered a mistake in my design The quilt on the right is the first warm wishes quilt I made. It was for my grandson. The fabric is fireman fabric. I used what I had in the stash to make. To add a little personality to it I pieced the ladders in the border, repeating the ladders in the fabric. You can see the definite framing of the blocks in this quilt. In the following blog I wrote about the pattern you can see how what you choose to use for the rails effects the outcome. http://gloriouscreations.blogspot.com/2011/02/three-wishes.html This quilt is the fist time I ever pieced with flannel. I used what fabrics I had. I let the yardage of the fabric dictate where they would be used. (You'll also note on the right hand side there is not a finish framing. I wanted to use all the blocks I made and this was what came of it. I have used the pattern to make a small commemorative quilt. http://gloriouscreations.blogspot.com/2011/03/warm-wishes-again.html This is my grandaughters quilt. I found when you use a color in the narrower sash that is in the background of the block it tends to melt into the quilt loosing the framing look. Left is the most recent quilt I made witth this pattern. It is flannel, made for a young lady who loves purple. This is another quilt I let the yardage dictate where I used what. I wanted to clear the stash of the pink flannel. I have made other Warm Wishes Quilts and not taken their pictures (they were picture worthy but camera wasn't handy before they were gifted). Please try this pattern in flannel. The quilt is very soft and warm. I recommend this pattern to a novice piecer (don't forget to pre-wash your flannel in hot water to shrink and tighten the weave.) The use of a walking foot is highly recommended when using flannel. A Warm Wishes Quilt, made with love, being loved. Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Time Out. This week, we are inspired by words: Snowflakes are Winter's Butterflies I was inspired to pull out my newest snowflake die and stamp set called Quilted Winter from PTI. I die cut and stamped the snowflake in traditional red and green for Christmas, and then adhered everything to a square scalloped tag and then a card. I hope that you will take some Time Out to play along with us over the next two weeks. Please see the Time Out challenge blog to see more inspiration from the Design Team and our Guest Designer Ashwini. Thanks for Visiting
With my new needlecase and pincushion already in use, I finished writing the pattern just in time for the November newsletter. The scraps I used go very well together and they add to the warm feel of these fun projects. The largest scrap used measures 12 x 15 cm, so it's an ideal purpose for those tiny leftovers we all have from previous projects. I guess most of you also have some felt, rope, batting and buttons in your stash for the finishing touch. And for those of you who would like to get started, here's some practical info: the pattern is called 'Warm Winter Wishes' and contains a full color picture of the project, a requirement list, clear instructions on the needlecase as well as the pincushion, full sized templates, diagrams and instructions on how to appliqué. Of course, our newsletter members can enjoy the special newsletter member discount (click) and order the Warm Winter Wishes pattern for just 8.00 euros. You'll find all info on the pattern, as well as how to order, on our web site (click). Happy quilting!

Marie made this lovely Stepping Stone Stars quilt using a block pattern from the Quiltmakers 100 Blocks, Vol 7 magazine. Its constructed as a 12" block but looks like it is made up of smaller 6" blocks. The fabrics all have tiny flower and leaf designs in the prints so I chose Wildflowers for the pantograph. I used a light green So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.
This beautiful tan colored fabric is called Berry Branches and is part of the Warm Winter Wishes collection by Holly Taylor and is from Moda.
