Limiting Civil Liberties- Second Red Scare This is approximately a 45-60 minute lesson plan focusing on the Second Red Scare. This is an important part of history that is carefully introduced in this lesson. By focusing on the Joseph McCarthy West Virginia Speech, students can analyze how this Second Red Scare impacted America in the 1950s. At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to answer the following questions: (1) What was the 2nd Red Scare and how did it affect civil liberties? (2) Explain the purpose of the House Un-American Activities Committee. (3) Who was Joseph McCarthy? Explain his impact on the 2nd Red Scare. An added bonus to this lesson includes extensions that can easily be used in any classroom to meet the needs of any struggling or advanced student Like us on Facebook by clicking the link below Social Studies Studio Facebook

No Silly & Insulting Shipping Charges William Faulkner never finished high school and did not make it through his freshman year at the University of Mississippi in his hometown of Oxford, MS. Spending some time in New York and New Orleans, it was in the latter that he was inspired to write a novel, Soldier's Pay. The advice came from Sherwood Anderson, who recommended that Faulkner write about the rural South, a subject he knew well. From his novels and other stories, readers learned of Yoknapatawpha County, an imaginary place inhabited by people from all evils of life. Faulkner did not gain fame until he was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature in 1949. He won his first of two Pulitzer Prizes in 1955. Mix & Match values to make the current rate. The full and final work of Jesus stands as the centerpiece of the book of Hebrews. Written to a group of Christians weighed down by persecution, Hebrews tethers believers to the past, present, and future, keeping our eyes on Jesus at every turn. Drawing on the richness of Israel’s history and the forerunners of faith, in Hebrews we see how God was always pointing to the more perfect Priest and sacrifice that would come through His Son once for all time. Join us for this three-week study as we remember and rejoice in the reality that Jesus, His promises, and His presence are indeed better. Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. —Hebrews 12:1–2 - 21 Days (3 Weeks) of Curated Scripture ReadingsADDED FEATURES- A Quick Look at the Different Warnings Given in Hebrews- Cross References for Old Testament Allusions and Quotations Found in Hebrews- An Overview of How the New Testament Uses the Old Testament- An Exploration of the Way Hebrews Testifies to Christ's Superiority- A Look at the concept of "better" Throughout Scripture- Daily Response Questions- A Seasonal Recipe- 6.5x9", Perfect Bound, 120 PagesIMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE FORMAT OF THIS GUIDE: This guide includes the Hebrews: Once for All Time reading plan, along with a written introduction and many other helpful elements throughout, many of which are exclusive to this Legacy Book.
