Elsass liegt im Osten Frankreichs, an der deutschen Grenze. Die Fahrt mit dem Auto aus München dauert ca. 4,5 Stunden. Es ist wirklich nur ein Katzensprung, um in dem Märchenland von bunten mittelalterlichen Fachwerkhäusern, von riesengroßen Storchnester und von süß riechenden Konditoreien anzukommen. Elsass bietet viele Möglichkeiten: Städtereise, Fahrradtouren, wunderschöne Wanderwege, Aktivitäten in Naturparken für Groß und Klein. Die Speisen der elsässischen und französischen Küche sind auch berühmt und man muss sie unbedingt probieren. Die romantische elsässische Weinstraße verbindet alle Ortschaften unserer Reiseroute. Wir haben die Dörfer und Städte in einer Reihenfolge von Süden bis Norden besichtigt: Eguisheim – Colmar – Turckheim – Ribeauvillé – Riquewihr – Kaysersberg – Burg Hohkönigsburg Das mittelalterliche Dorf – Eguisheim Eguisheim liegt 7 km südlich von der Stadt Colmar. Es ist ein kleines mittelalterliches Dörfchen. Seine Straßen verlaufen kreisförmig. Du kannst sozusagen einen Rundgang zwischen den kunterbunten, geschmückten Fachwerkhäusern machen. Kleine Konditoreien, Bäckereien oder Restaurants mit elsässischen Leckereien findest du hier. An allen hohen Punkten sitzen klappernde Störche in riesengroßen Nester. Brunnen mit Blumen dekoriert stehen an kleinen Plätzen. Das Dorf mit seinen Kopfsteinpflastern kommt wirklich wie Märchenland vor. Unsere 3,5-jährige Tochter bemerkte: „Mama, ich glaube, hier wohnt eine Hexe“. Dieser Ort hat uns wirklich verzaubert und war das Highlight unseres Wochenendtrips. Tipp für Parken in Eguisheim: Du kannst mit deinem Auto in den äußeren Straßen des Dorfes kostenlos parken. Colmar – das kleine “Venedig” Die Stadt, die auch als „La petite Venise“ also „Das kleine Venedig“ genannt wird, ist für viele Besucher der bekannteste Ort in Elsass. Tausende von Fotos findest du auf Instagram, die die bunten mittelalterlichen Häuser, die blumengeschmückte Cafés am Kanal oder die Gondelfahrten zeigen. Colmar ist aber viel mehr als diese. Während deiner Spaziergang in Colmar sollst du die Markthalle – Marché couvert de Colmar auch besuchen. Hier findest du lokale Spezialitäten, wie Käse, Wein, Wurst- und Fleischwaren, Gartendeko, Gemüse, Obst und Süßwaren. Beim Schwendi-Brunnen (Fontaine Schwendi) sollst du auch kurz anhalten, genauso, wie bei dem ehemaligen Verwaltungsgebäude: bei Salle du Corps de Garde. Das Haus Zum Kragen ist in der Nähe des Martinsmünsters. Es ist berühmt für seine aus Holz geschnitzte Figur, die einen Mann mit langen Bart im Renaissancestil darstellt. Das Martinsmünster (Cathédrale Saint-Martin) steht in der Stadtmitte und ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für deinen Spaziergang durch die Stadt. Tipp – die besten Macarons in Colmar In der Nähe der Schwendi-Brunnen ist die Patisserie Gilg. Hier kannst du aus verschiedenen französischen und elsässischen Süßspeisen wählen. Die leckeren Macarons kannst du einzeln aussuchen und einpacken lassen. Du musst die Sorten Erdbeere, Himbeere, Schokolade, Mango-Erdnuss, Vanille, Heidelbeere unbedingt probieren. Achtung! Die Macarons halten nicht lange in der Sommerhitze. Kaufen und schnell verschlingen! Tipp – elsässische Flammkuchen Im Restaurant La Soï kannst du sehr leckeren Flammkuchen essen. Die Weinstube hat sehr gute Rezensionen. Tipp für Parken in Colmar: Wenn du nicht zu weit weg vom Stadtzentrum parken möchtest, stehen dir viele kostenpflichtige Parkplätze zur Verfügung: auch rund um der Kathedrale. Wir haben unser Auto hier abgestellt. Turckheim Die kleine Ortschaft liegt 7 km westlich von der Stadt Colmar. Der Weg zur Dorfmitte führt durch einen Turm mit einem Tor. Wenn du einen ruhigen Ort für Übernachten (z. B. im Hotel Berceau Du Vigneron, das in einem im 15. Jahrhundert gebauten Haus ist) suchst, können wir dir Turckheim empfehlen. Das Dorf ist nicht so touristisch, wie z. B. Riquewihr oder Colmar, deswegen ist es idyllisch, angenehm und innig hier. In Turckheim findest du kleine Hotels und Restaurants mit elsässischen Spezialitäten. Tipp für Parken: Vor dem Eingangsturm stehen Schilder, die Touristen bitten, außerhalb der Gemeinde zu parken. Hier rechts findest du einen großen kostenlosen Parkplatz. Ribeauvillé Die zauberhafte Kleinstadt liegt 17 km weit von Colmar. Ribeauvillé ist von Weinfelder umgegeben und neben der Stadt auf dem Berg stehen 3 mittelalterliche Schlösser. Die Ortschaft ist sehr beliebt von Besucher, viele Motorradfahrer suchen hier Unterkunft. Die romantische Stadt mit kunterbunten Fachwerkhäuser, mit alten Türmen und Kirchen hat uns auch in ihren Bann gezogen. Wirf ein glückbringendes Geldstück in den Hirschbrunnen, spaziere unten dem Fleischerturm durch, und lass die Zeit in Zeitlupe gehen. Unsere Unterkunft im klassischen Fachwerkhaus: Wir haben kein Hotel im Vorfeld gebucht. Wir haben einfach in der Stadt rumgefragt. Die bekanntesten Hotels waren schon ausgebucht. Wir haben dann im Hostellerie Des Seigneurs De Ribeaupierre freies Zimmer bekommen. Hinter dem Hotel sind freie Parkplätze. Es gibt sogar einen kleinen geschlossenen Innenhof, wo du dein Auto abstellen kannst. Dieses Hotel ist ein altes Fachwerkhaus. Die Besitzerinnen sind zwei ältere und sehr nette Damen (sie sprechen auch Deutsch). Die Räume sind mit alten Möbeln eingerichtet, so der mittelalterliche Stil erhalten wird. In dem Gemeinschaftsraum hinten der Rezeption findest du einen offenen Kamin und sogar einen abgedeckten Brunnen. Unser Zimmer war sehr sauber und romantisch. Das Frühstück war auch ein Traum: uns wurde hausgemachte Erdbeer- und Aprikosenmarmelade, Joghurt, Baguette, Ziegenkäse, warmes Croissant und hausgemachte Traubensaft serviert. Tipp – der beste Flammkuchen im Elsass Im Restaurant Au Cheval Noir stehen verschiedene französische Gerichte auf der Speisekarte. Hier haben wir den leckersten Flammkuchen gegessen und dazu lokalen Weißwein (Pinot Blanc Cave) getrunken. Tipp – Die Burgen von Ribeauvillé Neben Ribeauvillé stehen drei Schlösser: Burg Hohrappoltstein, Ulrichsburg und Burg Girsberg. Diese sind nur zu Fuß ca. in 45 Minuten erreichbar. Du hast von hier einen perfekten Blick auf die Kleinstadt und auf die Weinfelder. Riquewihr – Weindorf im Elsass Diese Kleinstadt ist auch sehr bekannt. Sie ist in 20 Minuten aus Colmar erreichbar. Die Straßen von Riquewihr sind wunderschön. In den farbigen mittelalterlichen Fachwerkhäusern wechseln sich Restaurants, Bars, Konditoreien, Souvenirshops und Hotels. Auf der Hauptstraße Rue de Général de Gaulle sind viele Touristen. In den Seitenstraßen ist es ruhiger und findest du tolle Fotomotiven. Parken in Riquewihr: Du kannst mit dem Auto nicht in die Stadtmitte fahren. In den äußeren Straßen gibt es kostenpflichtige Parkplätze. Eine Stunde kostet 2 Euro (2 Stunden 3 Euro). In der Nacht kosten 20 Minuten 0,1 Euro. Tipp – elsässischer Gugelhupf In der Konditorei Au Petit Délice haben wir den bekannten Kuchen gekauft. Er war richtig fluffig und lecker. Kaysersberg Die Gemeinde ist 12 km weit von Colmar und liegt an der Elsässer Weinstraße. Sie ist ruhig und weniger touristisch. Hier findest du außergewöhnliche Unterkünfte (Ferienwohnungen), nette Restaurants und Souvenirshops. Das Haus Laverie Ancienne im Zentrum, der Brunnen Constantin und die Katholische Kirche sind bemerkenswert. Uns hat am besten die Aussicht aus dem Schloss Kaysersberg gefallen. Tipp für Parken: Außerhalb der Ortsmitte findest du kostenpflichtige Parkplätze. Wir haben an zwei verschiedenen Stellen geparkt. Einmal in der Nähe des Zentrums, einmal in der Nähe des Burges. Tipp – Ausblick aus dem Burg Kayserberg Auf der Straße Rue de la Flieh kannst du parken und von dort in 5-10 Minuten zu Fuß das Schloss erreichen. Der Eintritt in die Burg ist kostenlos. An dem Eingang ist die Aussicht bereits schön, aber am besten besteigst du die Wendeltreppe im Turm. Von dort hast du einen gigantischen Blick auf Kaysersberg und auf die Weinfelder. Hohkönigsburg – Château du Haut-Kœnigsbourg Ein Highlight unseres Wochenendes war der Besuch der Hohkönigsburg. Das Schloss steht seit dem 12 Jahrhundert aber es wurde oft zerstört und wieder neugebaut. Seine Blütezeit erlebte in den 16-17. Jahrhunderten. Danach stand es leer und abgebrannt. In der 20. Jahrhundert wurde es renoviert und restauriert. In den Räumen findest du mittelalterliche Möbelstücke, verzierte Kachelöfen, Ritterausrüstungen, wunderschöne Wandgemälde. Für Kinder ist die Burg auch eine Attraktion. Kleine Burgfräuleins und tapfere Ritter können auf der Wendeltreppe in den Turm steigen, gemütlichen Spaziergang im Burggarten oder mit Mama und Papa am Picknickplatz Brotzeit machen. Der Eintritt kostet für Erwachsene 9 Euro, für Kinder zwischen 6-17 Jahren 5 Euro. Die Burg ist mit dem Auto erreichbar. Rund um des Schlosses kannst du kostenlos parken. Tipp für Familien: Im Souvenirshop kannst du mittelalterliche Burgfräulein- und Ritterkostüm mit Ausrüstung besorgen. Straßburg – Hauptstadt von Elsass Diese Stadt haben wir schon früher besichtigt. Sie ist eine europäische Großstadt, mit vielen modernen Verwaltungsgebäuden und mit der romantischen Altstadt, dem sogenannten „La petite France“. Wenn du mehr Zeit hast, lohnt es sich die Stadt auf jeden Fall zu besuchen. Wieviel Zeit für Elsass einplanen Für eine Städtereise im Elsass reichen 2-2,5 Tage.
