Isn’t it funny how little ones are just curious about everything and totally don’t have that grossed out reaction that we have as adults? I have to admit bugs creep me out, so I was totally not excited for this week’s theme. I tried my best to contain my feelings about insects so Madelynn could […]

I think it’s safe to say that ALL toddlers love a trip to the zoo. We are lucky to have a pretty fantastic zoo close to where we live so we take full advantage of that and visit every few weeks or so. Madelynn always loves seeing what the animals are up to, so I knew this […]

Who doesn’t love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom? I’m not sure if it is the bright colors, the rhyming text or the simple and adorable story line, but this book is just a must read in our house on nearly a daily basis. We stuck to just reading this one book all week long and had lots […]
Teaching about weather is always one of my favorite science topics because there are so many great experiments to try. I wasn’t sure how I was going to teach about weather in a toddler friendly way without true science experiments, but I am really excited about all the fun activities we tried this week! Here […]

Teaching about anything creepy and crawly really isn’t my forte. Truth be told I kind of freak when I see any critters running around (let’s not even get into my fear of mice!). But I do my best to suck it up and teach about things like bats and spiders every year and we had […]

Sometimes little ones can be picky about eating healthy foods. I found a fun activity that can help teach them about the healthy food that their bodies need while playing and sorting the different food groups. This activity will give your children a better sense of what types of foods go into what food group categories. This hands on activity should also help them see healthier options for snacks and meals. This is also a good visual to show them how many they need of each food group on a daily basis.
