This beautiful Clare Youngs inpsired sun painting & collage is a bright & cheery art project for summer!
These spooky mummy eyes are such a fun Halloween project! I saw a version of this project online and just had to recreate it. The oil pastels are a bit messy but this is a no-paint project that can be completed in one art session.
4th graders just finished a lesson about totem poles. Students learned about the significance of totem poles and that they were (and still are) made by native tribes who lived in the Pacific Northwest region of North America. The big word for this project was stylize. We learned that some artists stylize their work by changing shapes, colors, etc. in order to give their work their own personal touch. Each student created one stylized animal in the style of a real totem pole. (There are some great resources on totem pole parts online here. Unfortunately, I didn't find this until we were almost done with the project!) In the past, I had kids paint the finished product, but I decided to try collage this year after seeing an example from another blog last year. I really like how clean the collage is. More importantly, the students were more successful using collage. My lesson plan can be found here. My keynote for this lesson is here. A PDF version of my keynote can be downloaded here. Feel free to use or modify for your own room!
Kindergarten Owlets I love starting off the school year with a Kindergarten project centered around ripping/tearing paper. These owlets are so fun and unique! This project took two forty minute art classes to complete. First, we drew a large oval to create the owlet. Next, we drew ears and wings. Then we ripped brown paper and glued it down to create feathers. Finally, we added details such as eyes, legs, and a beak. Wow! These little artists are working hard!
A LA MANERA DE KIMMY CANTRELL Kimmy Cantrell és un escultor nord-americà que crea impressionants màscares de fang. Hem utilitzat el seu treball per inspirar-nos i crear les nostres pròpies màscares.
Learning how to draw Frankenstein is easy and fun. We'll show you step by step how to draw, outline, and color your drawings with markers.
We often don't know what someone is thinking unless they choose to share it with us. Third graders made their thoughts visible in these amazing portraits inspired by the artist Martin O’Neill Students brainstormed a list of all the thinks they think about, like or wish for the future and created images to describe these ideas.
Elizabeth Diller and JR also appear on the list.
From mixed media to simple sketching, there's something here for every 1st grader.
I thought of a imagine to match the feelings of “temperature” given from warm and cool colors. The idea has brought of this work, with a sun and a moon. The sun evokes the heat, the fir…
