Size: 15x10cm / 6x4" Composition: 300gsm ultra pearlescent, hi-white paper Print: giclee/archival quality Made in England Budapest has one of the most beautiful and memorable skylines of any capital city in the world. Split across the River Danube, Buda and Pest are joined together by the elegant Chain Bridge. The Hungarian Parliament building is magnificent, with lots of spires and topped with a big, bulbous, terracotta dome. On the other side of the river are lots of beautiful buildings including the Buda Castle, Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion. In my drawing of Budapest, locals dance to a traditional Hungarian folk tune and people take a dip in the hot, thermal springs. Budapest is on my bucket list and drawing this wonderful city only serves to move it further up my list! Shop Julia's Art on Etsy! https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/JuliaGash

Commercial purposes such as Outschool are not permitted. For copyright reasons the art pieces are not included in this resource. Simply project digital versions so all students can view paintings properly. The artist and title of the artwork are clearly at the beginning of each lesson. Simply type it into a google search and click "images" to easily share it with the class by projecting it on the whiteboard. You do not need any particular websites to complete this unit. Common Questions Answered: Which materials are neeeded? These art projects purposely use only inexpensive and easily accessible art supplies. I have worked at low-budget schools and know how expensive supplies can be. Therefore I have designed the lessons to be completed with simple supplies such as paper, scissors, markers, paints, pastels and other common items. You can see a materials list in the preview if you are not sure. How much background knowledge needed? You do NOT need any art history background to begin - you may find yourself becoming an art history expert along with your students! How much time is needed? The time needed will depend on the age group of students, and whether or not you choose to complete all the projects, extension projects and related writing activities within each unit - there are a lot of different things to choose from! Each unit will take approximately one hour for the class discussion/teacher read-aloud script and art lesson / clean up. Another hour may be needed to do additional art lessons and writing extensions. Do lessons have to be completed in order? Although the lessons are organized chronologically through history, you do NOT have to complete all the projects - you can pick and choose. You can also pick and choose between the activities included and do not have to complete them all. You may wish to complete the art projects during art period, then use the extension writing projects, word searches and coloring pages in your writing center each week, or for early finishers! What are the Literacy and Geography Components? There are many literacy components to this program as well, so it will fit in well with your writing and social studies (an early sense of history, culture and geography). A simple world map is included so students can mark the areas that each lesson focuses on. What is the Read Aloud Script for Teachers? You do not need to have ANY background knowledge of art history to teach this unit! The teacher read-aloud script guides your conversation as each lesson begins, with questions included to ask your students. You can turn to page one and begin teaching! What About Early Finishers? I have included reflect/review writing pages to work on when finished the art projects, as well as various printables, word searches for each lesson AND coloring sheets for each art period or artist. These can also be used in literacy centers or as extension lessons. What Kind of Reference Materials Will I Need? All lessons also have are easily supported visually with a simple web search. For copyright reasons the art pieces are not included, but it's more beneficial to project digital versions so all students can view paintings properly. I have listed the artist and title of the artwork clearly at the beginning of each lesson. Simply type it into a google search and click "images" to easily share with the class by projecting on the white board. You do not need any particular websites to complete this unit. How Can I Manage Student Work? All projects can be kept in a scrapbook, which results in a great portfolio and keepsake! A scrapbook cover is included. I am sure you will also want to display the fantastic artwork on the wall as well, but later it can be glued into the scrapbook along with any extension projects for that time period. Teacher Tip: I've been doing these lesson with multi-age buddy classes for 12+ years, with great success.
