As tesouras podem ser itens simples e até mesmo banais para algumas pessoas, porém são muito importantes em todas as casas. Com diversas aplicações, elas existem há séculos e, de acordo com os primeiros registros históricos encontrados, surgiram no Egito Antigo em aproximadamente 1500 a. C. – ou seja, elas já possuem mais de 3,5 mil anos de idade! É claro que o formato delas mudou drasticamente com o passar dos anos, assim como os seus usos. O formato que conhecemos, com as duas lâminas assimétricas, foi inventado pelo Império Romano por volta do ano 100. Entre as muitas aplicações das tesouras, elas eram utilizadas principalmente para cortar o cabelo, tosquiar animais, podar árvores, cortar tecidos, entre outros usos. Contudo, foi somente quando as tesouras de aço polido, criadas por Robert Hinchliffe, foram introduzidas em 1751 que esse item domiciliar ficou realmente popular. Pensando em todos os modelos de tesouras que já passaram pelo mundo, nós listamos aqui alguns desses curiosos itens que possuíram formas muito distintas das que conhecemos hoje.
