This is a one page grammar explanation of c'est vs. Il est. I use this in my AP class as a quick guideline for review of this topic that students often confuse.
Ces jeux permettent aux élèves de pratiquer la conjugaison des verbes être, avoir, aller et faire au temps présent de l'indicatif. Parfait pour donner aux élèves qui terminent leur travail d'avance, ou pour laisser avec un suppléant. Perfect for early finishers or to leave with a substitute or supply teacher.

This is a great review game that can be adopted for any level of French. It's called "Tabou/taboo". It's a well-known game and the rules are the same whether you play it in English, French or any other language. This document includes 64 cards and a game board. Here are a few guidelines: 1. Form teams of 3. 2. Put 2 teams of 3 in one group (they would be playing against each other). 3. Prepare materials: print and cut 64 cards - one stack per group; one game board per groupe, 2 pieces per group, 1 timer or 1 sand glass per group, 1 paper and 1 pen for score keeping. 4. Play this game as you would usually play it in your own native language. Differentiation in levels: 1. Allow your French 1 students use the 3 "tabou" words listed on each card for description of the word the team is trying to guess. In other words, they won't have any "tabou" words. 2. Allow your French 2 students put a "tabou" only on the 1st of the 3 words listed on the card. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

As you can probably tell from some of my previous posts, I absolutely love cooking with my kids! We don't get to do in near as often as I would like since we have to finance it with our own money and it can get quite pricey. We still are trying to do it at least once or twice a month, and my aide are great about helping out with ingredients! Every time we get ready to try a new recipe I like to have a visual to go with it. This way we can go over the recipe step by step before we head into the kitchen to do the actual cooking. We always send a copy home (in hopes that their folks let them try to make it there) and we put one in their binders that they take home when they graduate. As you can see they go from pretty basic recipes to a little more challenging as to try to find things that all my kids will be able to make independently. You can find the recipe book here: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Follow-Along-Recipes-989267

A perfect activity for literature circles and shared reading during your literacy block! Students work independently and in groups to analyze, respond to, and discuss fictional texts. Each student receives an 8.5” x 11” page, and contributes a different piece of information to the group's overall discussion of the text. Roles can be rotated every chapter/section, or this activity can be completed after the students have read the entire text. Note: If they are new to Literature Circles, younger grades may require more direction than simply being handed their copy of the poster. It is suggested that a completed example be provided, or a section be completed together as a class so students understand teacher expectations. Roles: Setting Description- students draw and describe the setting (time/place). Main Events- students explain the main events of the plot. Character Development- students describe any growth/change in the characters. Quote Analysis- students select a quote and describe its importance in the text. To display their completed poster, students trim along the dotted edges and place their pages side by side on a background.
