Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige’s blog today to share with you this pocket mini album that I created using Bungalow Lane! I have been having such a fun time working with this collection. Fall is my favorite time of year and this collection is full of all the things that make this season great! To create the covers of this mini, I used two pieces of chipboard that measured 4.5 x 4.5 inches. I wrapped these using Paper 11. To hold the covers together, I created a spine from another piece of this paper that measured 3.25 x 4.5 inches. I scored on the 3.25-inch side at ¾ of an inch on both ends, then used those tabs to add the spine to the inside of the covers. To line my album, I used Paper 16. I added 1-inch binder rings to this spine which, alone, would hold a ton of pages. However, I wanted to add a pocket to hold even more. My pocket is 1-inch in depth. I created this using a sheet from Paper 8 that measured 5 x 6.25 inches. I scored on the 5-inch side at 2 inches on either end and I scored on the 6.25-inch side at 1 inch on either end. I then cut the squares in the center into tabs and used those to adhere the pocket together. In hindsight, I would have made the pocket a bit smaller in depth, but I do love just how many pages it can hold inside of it! To create the pages for the pocket, I used Paper 1 and cut it into 4x4 inch squares. I then layered 3x3 inch photo mats on top which I popped up on some foam tape. The foam tape actually helped to fill out the pocket a bit more which prevents the pages from moving around too much or from falling out of the pocket. Dimensional embellishments from Bungalow Lane also helped with that. When it came to making the pages for the binder rings, I decided to use some of the fun cut-aparts from Paper 23. I love the size of these! As a fun transition page, I used a 4x4 inch square that I cut from the Floral Transparency. On the inside of my back cover, I created a 3x3 inch envelope that I created with an Envelope Punch Board. I adhered this down and used craft magnets to keep it closed. I love using envelopes in mini albums lately; I think they make the perfect tuck spot for extras! When it came to embellishing this mini, I used a majority of the bits and pieces from Bungalow Lane. On the cover, I layered up some leaves from the Floral Die Cuts with paper flowers I made using Paige's Layered Flower and Leaves cut files. As a title, I used the “Happiness” sentiment from the Layered Stickers and as a finishing touch I added Stitched Leaves. Along the spine I added more flowers I made with Paige's Rolled Flowers cut files and, of course, a dangle of tassels and charms, including one of the Heart Charms. To create tabs for the pages, I used the semi-circles from the Chipboard Stickers. To embellish the transition page, I used more of the Stitched Leaves. To decorate the pages in the pocket, I used the previously mentioned embellishments along with the Thickers, Foam Phrase Stickers, and 8-Page Sticker Book to add sentiments throughout. Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I’ll see you next time with another fun project! Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you this very chunky, very Fall-themed traveler's notebook that I created using her Bungalow Lane collection. To create the base of my journal, I took several sheets of paper that measured 8x8 inches. I folded all of these in half and stacked them in the order I wanted the patterned papers to be. To add some extra interest to the journal, I created other pages of different sizes and shapes. I used my Cricut to cut a 7.75 inch circle from Paper 8 that I folded in half. I also cut a 4 x 12 inch strip of cut-aparts from Paper 23 and a set of two tags from Paper 22 that I folded as well. I added these extra pages randomly throughout the album to break up the 4x8 inch block pages. For the binding, I hand-stitched the journal together using a saddle-stitch and some light pink embroidery thread. The Bungalow Lane collection offers a variety of fun embellishments to work with and I tried to use a bit of everything in this notebook. On the cover, I used the Thickers to create a "Happy Fall" title. To frame the title and make it pop, I took paper leaves from the Floral Die Cuts and machine-stitched along them. I then added them, along with some flowers, to the cover. The smaller Stitched Leaves made for the perfect final touch on the cover, along with a dangle of charms and tassels that includes a super cute, mustard yellow heart from the Heart Charms. Throughout the journal, I used sheets from the 2x2 Paper Pads to create sentiments and photo mats. Layering these together, or staggering them one on top of the next, is a fun way to create spots for photos while also adding interest to the pages. The scalloped Washi Tape is so adorable that I added it to almost every other page in this journal. One of my favorite things about creating Traveler's Notebooks is that each and every page can be completely different from the next. On some pages in this book, I used frames from the Chipboard Stickers to create photo spots while on other pages I used pieces from the Foam Phrase Stickers to create titles and spots for journaling or documenting. Another fun technique was creating a pocket from the Floral Die Cuts that I tucked a card from the Ephemera Die Cuts in. This pocket can also be used to store extra photos or memorabilia. On some pages, I used punches to fill the empty space. I created several paper flowers using a Fiskars punch. I layered two pieces for each flower and then adhered them down the length of one of my pages in a zigzag pattern. For extra fun, I added some button embellishments from the Embossed Puffy Stickers to the center of each flower. For another page, I used my Envelope Punch Board to create three small envelopes. These were the perfect size to fill up an empty page and they're perfect to use for extra storage as well! Since this journal is so chunky, I opted to use two strings of twine tied in a bow to keep it closed. This journal is so perfect for documenting any and all Fall memories and I can't wait to do just that with it! Thanks for stopping by my post today, I'll see you next time with another fun project! Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige’s blog today to share with you a pockets & envelopes mini album that I created using Bungalow Lane! The base of this mini album is created from three pieces of chipboard. The two pieces for the cover measure 4.5 x 6 inches, while the spine measures 1.5 x 6 inches. I wrapped these chipboard pieces using two pieces of paper from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I love the pop of color that the blue floral paper along the spine of the album adds. I lined the inside of my album using a nice, mustard yellow patterned paper and then moved on to creating the pockets. The pockets for this book are created from pieces of paper that measure 7.25 x 8.75 inches. I scored on the 7.25 inch side at 3/4 and 6.5 inches, and on the 8.75 inch side at 4 and 4.75 inches. I turned the squares in the center margin of the template into tabs that I then used to adhere the pockets together. To embellish my pockets, I used two different techniques. On one, I used torn strips of paper to add texture, while on the other I cut a “V” shape out of the center to create a peek-a-boo pocket. To add titles to my pockets, I used the Thickers and spelled out "Love" and "Document". While creating this mini, I danced with the idea of using it as a personal journal for self-growth. For that reason, I decided to create spaces for future documenting and added these to the pockets. For the left-side pocket, I created five envelopes using Paige’s Envelope cut file. I resized this file in my Cricut software to fit within the space of my pocket. To fill these envelopes, I took tags from Paper 22 and embellished them using the Cardstock Stickers, 8-Page Sticker Book, Foam Phrase Stickers, and Ephemera Die Cuts. To make tabs for the envelopes, I added Bird Paper Clips to the tops of each one. For the right-side pocket, I created three saddle-stitched journals using a mix of double-sided papers from Bungalow Lane. These journals each consist of four sheets of paper in the following sizes: 5.75 x 8 inches, 5 x 8 inches, 5.5 x 7.5 inches, and a 5.75 inch circle. I folded all of these in half, stacked them, and then stitched them together using embroidery floss and charms from my stash for added fun. To create the title of this album I took the “Chasing Butterflies” sentiment from the Foam Phrase Stickers and added it to the cover on top of a window box I created using a frame from the Chipboard Stickers. To embellish the cover further I used a few cut files from Paige (Layered Flower and Leaves & Rolled Flowers) and layered them along the left edge of the frame. Along the spine of the album I added buttons from the Chipboard Stickers. I also added a dangle of paper fringe tassels and a Heart Charm for a pop of color. As a quick closure, I created two layered paper straps that I adhered to the back of the album with tape and to the front of the album with strong Velcro dots. I can’t wait to document my goals, aspirations and happy moments in this pocket mini! Thanks for stopping by my post today, I’ll see you next time with another fun project! Amber Mitchell here on Paige’s blog today to share with you a coptic book I created using the Bungalow Lane collection. The covers of this coptic book are made from Wooden Covers that I purchased from Paige’s Etsy Shop. I used acrylic paint and washi tape to outline and paint pale pink, light blue, and mustard yellow stripes on both covers. These colors coordinated perfectly with the colors in the Bungalow Lane collection. For a more rustic look, I opted to let the natural wood of the covers peek through in-between the painted stripes. Since the covers measure 4 x 6 inches, I trimmed all of my pages to 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches and folded them in half. I decided to use six signatures for this book, each one consisting of three pages. So, in total, my book is made up of 18 pages. I used the covers as a guide for where to poke the holes in my signatures and then stitched the book together using mustard yellow embroidery thread. Throughout the stitching, I added charms, both from my stash and Heart Charms from the Bungalow Lane collection. I created a few extra charms by backing some of the Embossed Puffy Stickers together. To embellish the cover of this book, I used two of the Layered Flower and Leaves Cut Files from Paige. I cut three flowers from scrap paper using my Cricut and staggered them on the cover. For the center of the flowers, I used a button sticker from the Embossed Puffy Stickers and a few small heart stickers from the Foam Phrase Stickers. I layered three of the Stitched Leaves on the cover as well to tie everything together. For a bit more flair, I added a few gold leaf stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book and finished the book off with a fun pom pom charm I created. Coptic Books are one of my favorite things to create. They are so fun to stitch together and can be used for so many different types of projects. It’s a great skill to have, so if you’re interested, I highly suggest checking out Paige’s in-depth class! Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you this mini album that I created using a sheet of Floral Transparency and the Bungalow Lane collection. To create the base of this mini album, I used a sheet of the Floral Transparency and trimmed it to measure 6 x 12 inches. I scored this sheet on the 12-inch side at 5 and 7 inches, creating a 2-inch spine. To create the pages of this book, I made 7 sheets of patterned paper that measure 5 3/4 x 9 3/4 inches. I scored all of these sheets on the 9 3/4-inch side at 4 3/4 and 5 inches. This gives each page a quarter-inch gusset. To adhere the pages to the spine of my album, I used double-sided tape. I applied it along the gusset of each page and carefully added them, one by one, to the spine. Once all of the pages were attached, I matted the outside of the spine with a sheet of paper that measured 1 3/4 by 5 3/4 inch. This is a quick way to hide any imperfections that could show through the clear acetate. To embellish the cover, I layered a strip of pink patterned paper and some flowers from the Floral Die Cuts pack. For even more fun, I used some of Paige's Rolled Flower Cut Files to dress up the spine. To create a title, I added a "Simple Things" sentiment from the Foam Phrase Stickers. To create journaling spots throughout the album, I used tags, 3 x 4 cards, and 4 x 6 cards from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I added these randomly throughout the album using mini paper clips. When it came to embellishing the rest of the album, I used a mix of products from Bungalow Lane including the 8-Page Sticker Book, Chipboard Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, Ephemera Die Cuts, and Layered Stickers. This album was so much fun to make! I love how the gold accents in the Floral Transparency catch the light and how the acetate allows for a sneak peek of the album pages. I have been having such a fun time working with this collection. Fall is my favorite time of year and this collection is full of all the things that make this season great! I then cut the squares in the center into tabs and used those to adhere the pocket together. In hindsight, I would have made the pocket a bit smaller in depth, but I do love just how many pages it can hold inside of it! Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I'll see you next time with another fun project! Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you how I created this super cute mini album and storage box combo using the Bungalow Lane collection. Bungalow Lane is one of my all-time favorite ones to craft with. I love all of the colors, the patterns, and the florals. I just can't get enough of it! This means my stash is getting a bit low. So, from here on out, I'm using my leftover bits and pieces to make smaller projects. This storage box/tiny mini album combo was perfect for this! To create the mini album for this project, I used three pieces of medium weight chipboard. The cover pieces measured 2.5 x 2.5 inches, while the spine measured 1 x 2.5 inches. This mini is super tiny but can hold a ton of 2 x 2-inch photos. I wrapped and lined my chipboard using paper from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I then attached white elastic thread to the spine; this will act as the binding for the album. For a bit of extra fun, I added beads, a Heart Charm, and a small charm to the center string. To make the pages, I used the 2 x 2-inch swatches from Paper 20. I trimmed them into five pairs of two and folded them down the middle. I then slipped them into place on the elastic thread. To create the storage box, I used the Floral Transparency. I love this paper so much! The gold foiling is just so pretty. I trimmed a sheet that measured 6 x 9.5 inches. On the 6-inch side I scored at 1.5 inches on both ends. On the 9.5-inch side I scored at 4 inches on both ends. To assemble the box, I scored on all the score lines, then turned the small squares in the middle of the template into tabs. I then used these tabs to adhere the box together. To create the lid for the box, I took a sheet of paper that measured 2 7/8 x 7 inches. On the 7-inch side I scored at 1.5 and 3 inches. I then adhered the 4-inch segment of this template to the inside of the back of the box and folded the lid closed. To create a closure I used velcro dots. That's how quick and easy the base of this project is to make! Because it's such a small album, the process goes by fast, which means you can get to the fun part - embellishing - sooner. To embellish this project, I used some bits and pieces from the Floral Die Cuts and Layered Stickers. I machine stitched along all of the flowers and leaves for more texture. The final touches were Bird Paper Clips that I added to the album itself. Here is a photo of all of the mini albums I've made with Bungalow Lane so far: Thank you so much for stopping by today! I'll see you next time with another fun project! It's Thursday, and that means it's Challenge time again over at www.createwithconnieandmary.com. We have something different for the month of July, to celebrate the release of our new Annual Catalogue! Each week there will be a picture from the new catalogue, and we can be inspired by either the stamp set, layout or the colours. This is our project for Week 1: I've taken my inspiration from the colours and Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper. The colour scheme is Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla. I used the Daisy Lane bundle. I'm loving the new Medium Daisy Punch. It's the perfect partner for the large Daisy Punch. I stamped my daisies first and then punched them out and sponged the edges. I also used the punches for the leaves. I curled the petals with my bone folder and also added an extra layer to the centres and fringed the edges. The Pressed Petals Paper has beautiful pressed flower photographs, and on the reverse side, there are some lovely textural patterns - this hessian is one, and so is the script. I've accentuated the hessian with the Subtle Embossing Folder, and some extra sponging. How divine is that Rococo Rose Gathered ribbon? It's in the inspiration pic and I couldn't resist using it on my card too. It's hard to see in the pic, but I've also used the Rose Metallic Thread behind the daisies. I hope you like my card.
