Happy Monday! It's What Will You Stamp? time, this weeks featured set is Tap Tap Tap. Today's post is a little sad as the featured set is due for retirement in a couple of days, there is still time to grab it, so lets say farewell in style! I've created cards in 2 different styles. My first card has a rustic, vintage feel to it, the second features the same stamped image, but has clean lines creating a more modern feel. The first thing that came to mind when seeing this set was the old typewritter - I remember seeing these when I when to my Dad's work as a young child, and I do recall learning to type at school on a updated version (oh no showing my age!) unlike the computer keyboards we use now. I coloured the typewriter using Crumb Cake and an Aqua Painter, leaving the "paper" with the sentiment untouched. To create an aged feel I sponged the edges of card stock, then I curled with the bone folder to give a bit of a "dog eared" appearance, below is a different view. I also sponged the edges for a layer in the inside of the card to continue the vintage feel- you can just see the edge of the layer in the above photo. I used a combination of Pool Party and Mint Macaron, the cardstock layer is Mint Macaron, and the sponging is Pool Party I opted for clean lines on the 2nd card, the typewriter is left untouched, just mounted on Basic Black card stock. I've used Shine On Speciality Designer Series Paper, oh my! I am so wishing I had got my hands on this sooner, it is amazing DSP. Can you see the shine on the alphabet keys? I recalled Carolina Evans mentioning you can achieve a very similar look to Crystal Effects by using your Fine-Tip Glue Pen - it worked a treat! Thanks Carolina :) I gave the new Layering Squares Framelits a workout with these cards too - a combination of straight and scalloped edged squares. I didn't want to use the scallops in the above so trimmed the black layer on 2 edges to obtain the fine line to match.
