Hey there! We had a lovely Sunday afternoon yesterday! After grilling hamburgers, the family hung out on our front porch and played games while the kiddos played in the yard and sandbox my husband had built. It's so relaxing to...
Hi Everyone!! I am back from Stampin' Up! On Stage Live and I have so many fun photos to share this week! As I mentioned a month back, I tried out to be a display stamper for the event. In case you are not aware, a display stamper helps in creating the samples of new products for the event. Stampin' Up! wants to have many different examples for everyone to see, and they select about 30 or so people to make the samples, so that there is a variety of projects. I showcased a stamp set called Painter's Palette, which is good for me as I like to paint and draw! I loved the easel, and saw some possibilities with that right away. The other focus I was to have was the 2015-2017 In-Colors. I was suppose to make 20 samples, focusing on the stamp set and the colors, 4 samples in each of the 5 colors. We were to make a variety of projects, cards, 3D and scrapbook pages. Here is what I made... This first set of cards was keeping things simple. I used all of the swooshes in the set in the background, tone on tone. To create the background behind the sentiment I stamped the brushstroke image first in full strength ink, then stamped again three more times with out reinking the stamp. This gives the dark to light ombre look. For this grouping I cut the frame off the easel and used the tack to 'hang' the frame. This set uses the easel, as well as other stamp sets, to make a framed piece of art. I also needed to make some 3D projects and for these I focused on the colors rather than the stamp set. I used the gift bag punch board to create three different sized boxes. The new ribbon was so pretty to use! With this set I decided to use the frame, and added a "spotlight" technique where you only color in the image that appears inside the frame, leaving the parts outside of the frame black and white. I think these turned out fun, as well as pretty! In the days ahead I will show how to's on a few of these, as well as some close ups. I wanted to post these for those who have been asking to see what I made for the event. At the event I wandered over to the display to see if the projects were being well received. It was really fun to see people taking photos and a few times as I stood behind, I noticed a couple people zooming in on one of my projects! How fun!! Thanks for stopping by!!

I love this set, however I admit that it took some playing around until I made a card that I was truly happy with. It happens sometimes. Somedays creativity and inspiration overflows and other days.... Nothing. Ha. I am happy with this one though. I think the side step card helps to really show off the easel. For this card I teamed up NEW set 'Painter's Palette' with 'Work of Art' featuring NEW In Color 'Sweet Sugarplum'.

It is with a HUGE exciting that I would like to share with you my projects from Stampin' Up! Onstage Local event in Sydney. I was really lucky to be chosen to be one of the Display Stampers. You have no idea what it was like to receive a Big Brown Box from the Stampin' Up! Head Office with a brand new stamp set and ribbon, unfortunately there was a little problem with deliveries so I did not get the new in colours, so I featured the 2015-2017 in colours instead. The new Stamp Set was a 9 piece set, Painter's Palette and I made a variety of cards and 3 dimensional projects using this set. We were also given a selection of carryover items that we were only able to use. Using only the 5 in colours - Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe and Watermelon Wonder does have it's challenges, but I think I displayed them in a great light. Today I am going to feature the new stamp set, Painter's Palette and later in the week I will post all my projects in a few posts. I cut out the center of the artist's easel and added photos to the cards! The card on the left is for my daddy, and on the right for my hubby. Isn't that a cutie photo of our little Jason about 24 years ago!? :) eeks, I could just kiss those little cheeks!! Below are the stamp images
