I thought this month's February SU! Colour Challenge colors showcased the Gingko Stamps and Dies at their best with some Stamping Off and Small Blending Brushes. I started stamping off with the Ginkgo Stamp onto the Shimmery White Card Front which gives a soft sparkle to the whole card. I cut the details die cut in vellum and the Shimmery White. I used the Small Blending Brushes to colour the Shimmery White die cut element and you can see the shimmer through it! I added the sentiment and cut with the matching die. I finished the card with a few Pastel Pearls. Hello and welcome. It's time to share a new Just Add Ink challenge project. This week we need to add large letters or numbers. Who doesn't love a large sentiment. I couldn't resist using my favourite Sending dies again. They're just such a lovely font and of course their size always makes a great focal point. I teamed them with the gorgeous Ginkgo Branch dies and one of the embossing folders in the new Basics 3d 3-pack. Here's how it turned out. This was one of those cards that started off with one idea and turned into another. I'd spotted a fun springboard fold card by Susan Campfield that I wanted to try. I started by converting Susan's US sizing to suit my A4 cardstock, but in the end decided not to add the clever springy bits, just the card shape. It's such a fun idea though that I'll definitely try making another springy version. Thanks so much, Susan for the great idea. This also turned out to be a fond farewell to the beautiful Mint Macaron, which is one of the colours leaving our collection this month. It's one I'm quite sad to lose as it's a really lovely shade. Have you loved it too? Of course it would look lovely in so many other colours too. Back to those gorgeous Ginkgo Leaves dies though - which are also not carrying over. See my note further below. I cut the large shape for the front, and decided to leave the cut-out pieces in place - lots of mini dimensionals holding the pieces in! The Sending word dies (letter and outline) were a perfect pairing with the delicate ginkgo. Inside I stamped a sentiment from Pansy Patch (it works really well with the swirly 'sending') cut it out with a pierced square from the Stylish Shapes dies and added some more gingham paper behind it. Another little ginkgo die cut continues the theme inside. This is how the card looks flat-ish. How lovely is the cross-hatching texture of the embossing folder too? And this is how it looks from the top. The Ginkgo Branch stamp set and dies are NOT carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue but the good news is that both the dies and stamp set are 60% off now (dies were, $63, now $25.20, and the stamps were $41, now 16.40).They're only available until 2 May, unless they sell out first. You'll find them both in my online store here. Don't order the bundle option as the discount is not on there somehow! Here's what they both look like. Beautiful huh and so useful for so many cards? So that's my 'large letter' card. I hope you found something you liked and want to try. Head to the Just Add Ink challenge blog to see all our challenge projects. You're sure to find ideas you'll love. Take a look at the full card supply list here in my Stampin' Up! store. Note that once retiring items are unavailable to order they'll disappear from the list. Hello, crafty friends. Today, I have a thinking of you card I made using the beautiful Gingko Branch Bundle. This bundle is so easy to work with and the results are stunning! Because this is a Distinktive stamp set it appears like it has been water colored. Its just so pretty. Although it looks stunning stamped with just one color, I love the dreamy look at has when stamped with several colors. For this creation, I stamped first with Granny Apple Green ink followed by sponging Evening Evergreen ink randomly afterwards. To achieve this look and to get precision stamping, I used my Stamparatus. I love my Stamparatus and use it for most all of my stamping. After it was die cut out, I added more two toned stamped singular leaves from the stamp set to fill in my card front a little more. The stamp set also contains four sentiments that are the perfect size with a great font. I just added a few of my favorite die cut embellishments and it became an elegant card in a matter of minutes. Check out my 1 minute video below showing you how I achieved the two tone stamping. Last month at class, attendees made a card similar to this one but they used Pale Papaya and Mango Melody inks with the Dandy Designs 12" x 12" Sale-a-bration DSP. Don't miss out on this beautiful bundle! See it HERE. In March, when you place an online order of $35 or more using Host Code 7VNYECAJ, you will receive the Enamel Dots Essentials embellishment as my thank you gift. If reading from email, click HERE to go to my blog. Hi, I'm sharing another card set that I made for a family member, to be given as a gift. I decided to go very clean and simple with this set of cards. There are a few layers and some stitching, but these will be easy to mail...no extra postage required. I saw a Christmas card in the new Stampin' Up Holiday catalog that gave me the idea for this layout. It's a Christmas card on the left side of page 38. I used DSP from the Festival of Prints Stack that I bought last year. I love these prints and they're not JUST for the holidays...as you can see here. I love that the prints are small; scaled perfectly for cards. I was so happy to see that there are 2 Christmas DSP stacks in the current Holiday catty. Ummm...I ordered those on August 1st. Yup. The day that the catty started! Enough talking, right? Here's my latest card set. I stitched the focal panel onto a piece of DSP after I stamped the image and sentiment. Easy peasy. And I'm so pleased with the results! Thanks so much for stopping by today. :) Supplies used: Card stock: confetti cream (SU) DSP: festival of prints (SU) Stamps: harvest berries - the gingko leaves (PTI), sentimental swirls - the thank you sentiment (Avery Elle), boutique borders - the birthday sentiment (PTI), words of comfort - the sympathy sentiment (Close To My Heart) Other: thread, sewing machine
