Another Card using the new Nature Walk stamp set and Botanical Gazette DS paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog coming soon! And again an easy card because this paper looks so aged by itself, I just sponged around the edges with Early Espresso ink on the layers and then added a small amount of So Saffron ink to the edge of the embossed frame. The card base is Cream Confetti CS, The frame embossed with Framed Tulip Folder using Shimmery White CS. The 'honeycomb' DS paper is stamped with the birdhouse & bee in Espresso ink. The eggs were stamped with Crumb Cake ink. The flower was inked using Old Olive and Cherry markers and stamped and then stamped again twice without re-inking to create a shadow. I used the Pinking Hearts Border punch on another Cherry colored strip from the same wonderful DS paper and then placed it under a piece of Crumb Cake Seam binding along with a Vanilla Taffeta bow and a Antique Brad over the center. The tag is just a scrap of the DS paper stamped with 'Friend' from You're a Gem set, cut out and sponged around the edge! Very quick card!

I've seen a few beautiful cards around made with the Paper Piecing technique and the Beautiful You stamp set, and I just had to try it for myself. Paper Piecing is a simple technique where you stamp an image twice - once on plain cardstock and once on patterned paper. You then cut around the patterned paper image and stick it on top of the plain image. Voila, coloured images with no colouring involved! I used the Sending Love Designer Series paper for my images. I love the splash of red and white. I had to make 3 cards of course, since there are 3 images in the set: Here are all 3 together: I think I like the lady with the hat best...which one is your favourite? One that really jumps out at me is the Quilt Builder Framelits set. I though it would be so fun to try that out with the new colors - especially the refreshed brights - that I had to pull it out of storage and try it:

I was playing with the Perennial Birthday stamp set today. This set is paired with the lovely new Perennial Birthday Project Kit but it offers so many more opportunities. I started by stamping the large, bold ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment onto a 3⅝” by 1” piece of Whisper White cardstock using Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Taking […]

Happy Thursday! I'm back for this month's Team O challenge at the TicTacToe Challenge. This board had so many possibilities it was hard to choose. Since Mother's Day is coming up I decided to go with a feminine card that I could give to my mother-in-law. I played the diagonal - plaid, stenciling, twine. If for some reason I decide to give her a different one (I have four more Mother's Day cards to make) I can use this for a birthday card as I have not stamped the sentiment yet. I have started to leave sentiments off the front of cards unless they are for an obvious reason - for example a birthday cake. This allows me a bit of latitude so I'm ready for a last minute card. And if I leave a bit more white space (and by that I mean uninterrupted area) I can add a sentiment to the front with a sentiment strip or die cut label or word. I love that this set comes with dies and stencils for coloring. The layered stencil trend is one I really enjoy over layered stamping. For me it is much easier to line up the stencils and the trick to even color is a light hand. It is better to keep adding layers to get depth of color than to try and put pressure on the brush. And always start your brush moving BEFORE you get to the open part of the stencil. You can start it on the stencil itself or on the paper outside the stencil if that is a waste area. And here is my third Patchwork Pieces dies. I used the 'wavy' die in the pack this time, along with the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper. I'm loving this paper from the new Mini Catalogue. It has such gorgeous patterns and colours. I added a sentiment from the co-ordinating Modern Garden stamp set, and used the Modern Oval punch to cut it out. Yesterday I shared with a card made with the Avant Garden stamp from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. Today I have another card to share using the same stamp set and the new Watercolour Pencils! I used this stamp four times to create this tall stem of flowers. The background droplets were quite fun to do as it a random thing. The little leaf stamp on the sentiment is just the right touch. You can see the layering of the card, below. The inside.... (I second and third stamped the drops) SO there you have my second card using the Avant Garden stamp set. And like I said yesterday... How to get this FREE stamp set? During Sale-A-Bration, for every $60 spent from the Annual & Occasions catalogues, you can choose something for free from the SAB brochure! Why don't you try this card in a variety of colours... Place your $60 order today ($120 gives you two free items, and so on) and add this set as a free choice! Have fun with this and see what this one would like in different colours, too! Happy stamping! Hi again my friends, The Lazy Days Bundle (#161343) consists of the Lazy Days stamp set (#161340) and Lazy Days Dies (#161342) and is a set which can be used for a variety of occasions. For the background I used one of the masks from the Artistic Mix Decorative Masks (#159178). I lightly coloured this with a Blending Brush (#153611) and Tahitian Tide ink (#159221) on Basic White card (#159228). I stamped the floor with Crumb Cake ink (#147116). The mat was stamped with Pecan Pie ink (#161665). The pot plants were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (#132708) and coloured with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends (#154883) and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends (#154885). The bird was stamped with Sweet Sorbet ink (#159216). I used Adhesive Sheet (#152334) on the back of Basic White card which was cut with the dies for the rails & frieze. The rocking chair was cut from Pecan Pie card (#161726). The bird, mat & pot plants were also cut with Lazy Days Dies. The sentiment is from In The Moment stamp set (#157987) and stamped with Daffodil Delight ink (#147094). A Something Fancy Die (#160424) was used to cut the sentiment. The chair, one pot plant and sentiment were all attached with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108). Mini Glue Dots (#103683) were used for the other pot plant and bird. The card front was matted with Daffodil Delight card (#121680) then attached to the Basic White base card. “Love what you do and share what you love.” INSPIRE. CREATE. This is the invitation I created to send to all the hostesses I've had over the past six months. Twice a year I do a Hostess Appreciation and our Spring event is coming up next week! I picked a sentiment from our Occasions Mini Alphabet . . . 'Y' is for You . . . that's who this is for. I thought it worked well for an invitation.
