Hi everyone. I have two cards for you today. The first is my Design Team card for the latest challenge at Addicted to Stamps & More - Addicted to [Stamps]#6. Anything goes for this challenge as long as you include a stamp of some kind on your project (rubber / clear/ digi). This week's sponsor is Prize: $20 Gift Voucher (please follow the rules of the challenge to be eligible to win) Stamps: Bordering on Romance (SU!); Be Happy Sentiments (Amy R) Paper: White (C.C. Designs) Ink: Basic Black (SU!); Copics: YR07, R17, Y32, YR24, BG72, G43, YG67 Accessories & Tools: Stamp-a-ma-jig, adhesives, and dimensionals I simply stamped the image and sentiment and then colored in the image with copics. I added a few lines of detailing to the orange flowers with my black Stampin' Write marker. Here's a close-up photo of the flowers: I hope I have inspired you to join us for this fun challenge. Check out the other fabulous creations by the Design Team at ATS&M! ____________________ The second card is for today's color challenge at SCS (CC415 - more mustard, old olive, midnight muse) ... with the "dessert" of watercoloring. I thought this sweet digi stamp from Bugaboo was perfect for this color combination. I used the marker layering technique on watercolor paper for the sunflowers. The vase was printed onto Midnight Muse cardstock, cut out and coated with Crystal Effects. Not sure if you can tell, but the vase looks like glass IRL. Stamps: SF Vase (Bugaboo); Be Happy Sentiments (Amy R) Paper: White, watercolor, Old Olive designer paper (retired), Midnight Muse (SU!) Ink: More Mustard, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Midnight Muse (SU!) Accessories & Tools: Blender pen, Crystal Effects, Lemon Drop Twine (The Twinery), Stamp-a-ma-jig, glue, adhesives, and dimensionals I printed the image onto watercolor paper; used a blender pen and inks to "watercolor" the sunflowers and then cut them out. I printed the image a second time onto Midnight Muse cardstock; cut out the vase, and covered with Crystal Effects to give it shine and dimension. I mounted the striped Old Olive background onto the same width of white, but about one inch longer. This left a white strip at the bottom to stamp the sentiment in Midnight Muse ink. I wrapped two strands of twine around the bottom of the vase to anchor. I popped up the panel onto another white panel which was also popped up on my white card base (lots of depth). The vase and sunflowers were popped on top of the striped designer paper. Here's a close-up of the sunflowers:
Wasn't the Stampin' Addict Mini Occasions Blog Hop just fantastic? So many great ideas from so many talented stampers. If you missed it, ...
The Bordering on Romance set (in the current mini)is perfect for the Stained Glass technique. This technique works best with a line art stamp, that has clear outlines and small areas to colour. I've used white embossing powder to emboss the stamp on a piece of vellum. You don't have to emboss, but I like the clear definition it gives the stamp. You could also use any colour embossing powder that takes your fancy. All of the colouring is done with markers on the reverse side of the vellum. This gives a really soft effect when you flip it over. I've cut a Framelit window to attach my vellum behind, that way it hides any adhesive. Backing it on to Whisper White cardstock really makes the colouring 'pop'. I've used a Framelit almost like an Edgelit to cut the decorative edge down the bottom. The colours I've used here are Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz (for the leaves). I've used Whisper White ink to soften the Calypso Coral. Pretty!
This month I am featuring the Bordering on Romance stamp set. This set coordinates with the Adorning Accents Edgelits and embossing folders on page 7 of the Occasions Mini catalog. It's a very pretty set perfect for those who like to color. Here are three of the five cards you'll make with this Class to Go. These floral stamps are so pretty! It was easy to make attractive cards with this set. I do suggest you invest in a Black...

Hello how are you today? Excited no doubt to see the new fab product range Stampin’Up! has introduce with the arrival of our new Summer Mini. Of course it goes without saying I love so much of it and earlier last month I wasn’t sure what to use first LOL. Probably the most exciting thing for me is THIS fabulous tool. I am introducing the Rolls Royce of all scoring boards. I am a score board addict and own six different ones and I can honestly tell you that this one does everything I want it to do and more I L*O*V*E IT,it!! And here’s a card I made in a snap using the metric Simply Scored plate, oh yeah I nearly forgot, you get an Imperial base board with deep grooves at every 1/8” but if you are a metric gal like me fear not those clever people at SU thought about us to and you can purchase an additional metric plate which fits on top of the base board like a glove…. yet again I am in I designed this waterfall card for our Northern Ireland training earlier this year then used a similar version for our training event 2 weeks ago. Oh and wait!! you can also purchase an additional diagonal plate which works with the base board that enables you to make your own freaking envelope in every size you ever dreamed of!!!!! Have a look at this video Ok, now this next project was actually the very first one I have made, I really love the soft colours here. And you can see just how excited I was to play with new stuff, I literally thrown every bit of new product at this card *grin*. This lovely stamp set is called Bordering on romance and it coordinates beautifully with a new die cutting product, drum roll for the EDGELITS please!!!! These are wafer thin dies that enable you to cut decorative edges in a snap. And if that wasn’t enough in turn the edgelits coordinate seamlessly with the Adorning Accents embossing folders so you can add further interest with deeply embossed borders, oh boy these products have already changed my world, I cannot wait for you to start using them and see what you think , I just hope you won't get sick of me using them all the time. Next we have even more die cutting goodies, have a good peek at our new FRAMELITS !!!! oh my giddy aunt, can you say Y U M M Y? This sweet little treat pouch was another of our projects from the team training day, isn’t it sweet? So very easy to put together and while you're looking catch a glimpse of the stamp set!! yep MORE fabby product coordination, I do hope you’re friendly with your bank manager . There’s yummy product suites again offering fabulous coordination, SCENTED EMBOSSING POWDER!!! gorgeous scrummy flavours yum yum, I am so excited about these because I love the fact that you can now tantalize the smell sense when you send a card by post not just the eye, I adore nice smells and I do love the Vanilla scent, but there's cherry and melon for those fruity kinda of girls *wink*. And exciting product is not all that we are launching as from today. For the last 2 days I talked about the new revised starter kit< JOIN and start your own business FOR ONLY £99. I think so I’m still enjoying colouring at the moment and today’s card shows that you don’t need a lot of inks to get some beautiful results. Only two were used here. The paper background matches the stamp set (another of SU!’s fantastic co-ordinating product sets) giving a possible template to follow for the shading. […]

Well Thursday already and it's Challenge with my Friend Glenda. Today it's Bordering on Romance for the stamp set and color are Blushing Bride, Gray, White, Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze.
After a major holiday, I sometimes have problem trying to figure out what to do next...anyone else have that problem? Well, if you do, try this. I take this time to put together general use cards....Thinking of You, Get Well, Sympathy, etc. Sometimes I create, other times I CASE (Copy And Steal Everything) and sometimes I pull a sample from my stash and recreate. Today's card is one from my stash. For this card, I took an 8.5 x 5.5" Basic Black card stock and scored it at 4.25". I then took Whisper White cut to 8.5 x 5.25". To get the edge I take the Black cardstock and cut the edge using the Adorning Accents Edgelit. Then I take the Whisper White and cut the same edge and use the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder which matches and emboss the edge. Then I measure the black cardstock from the edge to the score line. When I have this measurement, I then subtract a 1/4" and cut the white. The remainder of the white I place inside the card, matching the lines of the white on the top flap. That way you get the black, white, black, white layered look. I then can place any image on the front. I utilized the flower from the Bordering on Romance and the sentiment from Word Play. I love both sets and they are some of my Go-To products. I colored the flowers with a Blender Pen and my stamp ink. When the Blender Pen is freshly loaded, I do the edges because there is a greater magnitude of ink....then I blend towards the center. If you'll notice, the embossed edge isn't straight.....ooops.... No problems, I use these type of cards as my samples. I put the instructions to include the sizes, instructions and colors on the back. That way when I need a card quick, I don't have to refigure or create - I just go to my samples and make a quick card! Hope you enjoy this card and my quick tip....comments are welcome!!! Many Blessings....Cathy

Happy Hump Day Peeps!!! Today I am sharing a card made with the color challenge this week on Splitcoaststampers. The colors to use are Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette with neutrals of your choice. The dessert option is to make it Valentine themed, with hearts, roses or anything Valentine related. I used the Stampin Up "Bordering on Romance" stamp set. I stamped with black stazon onto white card stock and colored with my aqua painter and ink pads. the sentiment is from the "Sweetheart" stamp set. I used the new edgelit and adorning accents EF for the pink strip along the bottom. I added a few non SU items, the paper doily and the pearl swirls. I used some whisper white satin ribbon to tie the bow. The main image is added to the card with some dimesionals. I used my circle and scallop circle nesties to cut out the main image and the mat. I pierced all around the scallop mat with my piercing tool. Well, that is all from me today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!! Vicki
