It's funny how things turn out sometimes. When I saw the sketch below, my immediate thought was to use my Painted Labels Dies because this die would be perfect for the scalloped edge part of Sketch 568 from Try Stampin' On Tuesday. However, once my card started coming together, I realized it would be too busy for that part of the sketch...so, I've set it aside to maybe use another day. MEASUREMENTS Card Base ~ Merry Merlot Cardstock ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4" Layer 1 ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4" Layer 2 ~ Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper ~ 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Layer 3 ~ Merry Merlot Cardstock ~ 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" Layer 4 ~ Awash in Beauty DSP ~ 1-3/8" x 3-5/8" Scraps of Merry Merlot and Granny Apple Green This card is fairly self explanatory, by I do have a couple of tips. My first tip is to use Tear & Tape to adhere the ribbon to the DSP & Cardstock. I did wrap about 1/4" of ribbon around the left side. Then I cut another small piece of ribbon and attached it the back of the card so that it peeked out from the right side. I placed the Tear & Tape on the TOP side of the 2nd piece of ribbon so that the top of the ribbon, not the plain backside, is peeking out from behind the cardstock. My second tip is to use Liquid Glue/Stampin' Seal to adhere all layers EXCEPT Layer 3 on Layer 2 and the scalloped punched oval over the ribbon. For both of those I suggest using Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I almost always recommend stamping first, then turning the punch upside down so you can see your stamped image to center it before punching. All the products used on this card are shown below, with links for easy shopping if you need to add any of them to your crafty stash. Thanks for swinging by my blog today. Happy Stamping! Here is a fun fold latch card! I used the gorgeous Awash in Beauty DSP! Here is what the card looks like as you are starting to open it up. The flower is popped up with dimensionals. The flower is what holds the card shut by sliding the latch under the flower. This is what the card looks like when opened up! Check out the latch! I always like to find "other" ways to use punches. And I love the look when using this punch like this latch! How did I make the latch? I cut a 1 1/4" strip of Polished Pink card stock & punched it out using the Label Me Lovely Punch. Just slide the strip of card stock into the punch as shown & line it up so that there is just little notches on all 4 corners. Cool huh! Now the latch just needs to be tucked in under the flower again to hold the card shut. I think this is such a pretty card! Here are the supplies & measurements. stamp set: 'Peaceful Moments' (words) card stock: Polished Pink- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 3" & 7 1/4"- fold for card base Polished Pink- 1 1/4" strip- punch out for latch Granny Apple Green- 1 3/4" strip- punch out leaf with Bough Punch Basic White- 1 x 1 1/2"- stamp words onto Basic White- 4 x 5 1/4"- for inside of card designer paper: Awash in Beauty DSP 2 3/4 x 5 1/4"- flowers/leaves image 1 x 5 1/4"- pink/white flower/leaves 1 x 4"- pink/white flower/leaves for inside of card 1" strip- punch out blue little flowers with Bough Punch ink: Polished Pink other: Label Me Lovely Punch; Bough Punch; Opal Rounds; dimensionals; Wink of Stella I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday! Hello stampers, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, we are in a stretch of 90+ weather which I'm not a fan of but I guess it's a lot better than the 100+ we'll have in the summer. Tomorrow I get the joy of seeing the dentist which I'm super anxious about, thank goodness for Nitrous I hope it keeps me calm like all the other times! I just received my order of some new stuff & thought I'd share. I was looking for a certain color combo & instead Polished Pink spoke to me asking to be used. I started the card with a Basic White Cardstock piece where I stamped the flower & stem from the True Beauty Stamp Set using Polished Pink & Evening Evergreen Ink. This was then backed by an Evening Evergreen Cardstock piece then I added the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon. It's a little funny, I love buying ribbon to use in some of my favorite colors but hardly use it. I lucked out that the paper that goes with this set Awash With Beauty DSP also uses Polished Pink in the coordinating colors a layer was attached to an Evening Evergreen Cardstock base, followed by adding the stamped piece to the DSP. ~Thanks for stopping by! Hi Everyone, This card is another one I made during my crafty day with Donna from Taffy Crafting. It's a Double Side Shutter Fold and I have used the gorgeous Subtles dsp stack in Balmy Blue and the Awash In Beauty dsp with a sentiment from Sending Smiles. Let me show you how I made it. Materials 1 piece of balmy blue card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" 2 pieces dsp 7/8" x 5 3/4", 1 piece 7/8" x 4 1/8", 1 piece 1 3/8" x 4 1/8", 1 piece 1 1/4" x 4 1/8" 1 piece of Awash in Beauty dsp 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" 1 piece of basic white 2" x 5 5/8" and a scrap for the sentiment Sending Smiles stamp set Sending Dies Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine Scalloped Contour dies Multipurpose adhesive Dimensionals Trimmer Simply Scored Bone Folder Night of Navy ink Adhesive Backed Sequins & Gems Take Your Pick Tool Instructions On the long side score the balmy blue card at 1", 2", 3" and then repeat from the other side. On the trimmer, turn the card to the short side and line up at the 1" mark and cut between the 1st and 3rd score line from the top and repeat at the bottom along the same 1" line. Move the card to the 2" mark and repeat the cuts you just made. Move along to the 3 1/2" mark and repeat the cuts and then again along the 4 1/2" line. Carefully push the pieces between the cuts back and bring the ones at the side of them forwards and then burnish the folds. You should end up with top, middle and bottom sections forward and the 2nd and 4th back (see finished card). Add the dsp layers to the panels across the card and down the two side panels as shown in the picture. Die cut a piece of the Awash in Beauty dsp with the 2nd largest Scalloped Contour die, I carefully chose a bouquet from one of the pieces that I wanted to show off. Add dimensionals to the back and adhere to the front of the card as shown. Stamp a sentiment on a scrap of white and then die cut with one of the label dies from the Sending dies, add to the card front using dimensionals. Adhere the remaining piece of white card to the back of the card to write your message. Sprinkle some sequins around the flowers and the card is complete.
