This creative book project will spice up your plain, old book reports! This is a book report that is FUN, creative, hands-on, and interactive. It is perfect for a character study as it promotes creative and in-depth thinking. Students pick a favorite character and create the foldable to resemble the character. They then complete multiple fun elements that help them really dive in for a fun character study. This project really challenges students to think creatively, and even invites them to step into their character's shoes! This also makes a great in-class project for the end of the year. All directions and templates are included! Here are the elements of the foldable: •Name tag •Book Cover: redesign the book's cover •Instagram: imagine what the character might take a picture of •iPod: brainstorm songs the character would have on their iPod •Interview: answer interview questions as the character •Adjectives: describe the character in 8 words •Speech Bubble: choose a significant quote from the character If you like this project, but are looking for a BIOGRAPHY project, check out my similar Interactive Biography Buddy project!

Engage little artists in a project-based study of Paul Klee and the concept of line in this unit of the Famous Artist series from Kids Art Projects 101. Inside the unit you'll find a 23-page unit guide full of information and tips for teaching this series of art lessons to students in preschool through grade 2. The unit is broken down into three 40-minute sessions. For each session there is a guided presentation that has already been prepared for you and can be used via Google Slides or PowerPoint. The presentation also introduces and guides you through completion of a studio project and follow-up activity. The 101-page combined PDF and Google Slides full resource includes: An original digital storybook designed to expose students to famous artworks and details about Paul Klee A digital step-by-step studio project guide with clear directions, supply lists, and work sample photos A printable studio project follow-up activity A printable early finisher activity A digital lesson overview A printable self-assessment SUPPLIES White construction paper Crayons, colored pencils, or markers MORE ABOUT THE FAMOUS ARTIST SERIES FROM KIDS ART PROJECTS 101 This series is a project-based approach with ties to famous art and artists. The projects are designed for use with young children, and they heavily emphasize play and experimentation, but they also target specific skills, techniques, and understandings. Inside each structured unit the plans are organized into three to four 40-minute sessions and can be paced out in whatever way works best for your situation. This approach is awesome because it layers art history connections with guided instruction about the elements of art and principles of design. Each unit ultimately results in a completed art project. These projects were originally developed for use in a public school art room with kindergarten students, but have been adapted into a scripted PowerPoint format so that they can be easily utilized in a variety of settings and with a slightly broader age-range. WHY? Most school-age kids are ready to learn about famous art and artists! Such engagement exposes them to diverse pathways to success and creative expression. The problem is that figuring out HOW TO DO THIS WELL WITH YOUNG KIDS can be time-consuming and overwhelming. Teacher trainings, even well-organized ones, can leave you feeling ill-equipped for: Selecting kid-friendly masterpieces Translating art/artist facts in a way that feels accessible and engaging to little ears Making time for art history integration, in what is usually a very short time-allotment for hands-on artmaking Assembling supplemental resources (videos, stories, assessments, and early-finisher activities) Aligning famous art with hands-on projects Breaking hands-on projects into manageable and concise kid-friendly chunks The project packs in our Famous Artist Series do all that work for you! This resource will have you feeling more relaxed, prepared, and purposeful about engaging young kids in art learning! >>Click here to see all of the existing units in the Famous Artist Series Not sure where to start?
