Artek have teamed up with research-based design studio Formafantasma to create unique stools, each revering the innate elegance of wood. Stool 60 Villi is hewn from the untamed birch found within the birch woodlands in Finland and celebrates the numerous possibilities and fluctuations in this beautiful material. This prodcution encourages a broader, more unbridled, and conscientious utilisation of Finnish birch. It proudly exhibits natural etchings such as wood knots and the traces left by insects, drawing attention to the repercussions of climate transformation and the industrial transformation of our forests. Each Stool 60 Villi is crafted from 'wild birch,' ensuring that every piece is unique.
