This 1958 Fender Stratocaster in its original Sunburst finish represents some of the best elements of a 50s Stratocaster that we've come to appreciate over the years. It's a light build with a simply incredible neck carve combined with some excellent sounding pickups and a vibe that only 60+ years of play time can create. The perfectly broken-in Maple neck (with a more of a transition profile than the typical thinner '59 that followed it) has been lovingly refretted by Laurent Brondel, offering up unparalleled playability for a great vintage Strat. A fully intact pencil date of 10-58 corresponds with the 10/58 body pencil date found in the middle pickup rout of the body. Original Kluson single line tuners function very well. The original Fender decal has deteriorated moderately, but remains identifiable. It's fairly common to see decals from this period shed away from the headstock, some even disappearing completely. The original Sunburst finish is gorgeous, with just the right amount of fading and wear that you'd expect a great electric like this to show. There's some moderate to heavy finish wear on the back of the body, which only adds to the vibe! Removing the original single-ply pickguard from the guitar reveals clean, original pickup routs with proper nail holes and correct worm rout in the bridge pickup cavity. The aforementioned pencil date of 10/58 is clearly legible in the middle pickup cavity. An original Fender tremolo bridge with its original Pat Pend saddles are in great shape, and it's currently setup for standard floating action with its original tremolo arm. Factory original electronics throughout are fully functional and work without issue. The original black bobbin pickups are clear, woody, and bright, with great chime and harmonic bloom. Original Stackpole potentiometers date to the 38/39th week of 1958. An original late 50s Tweed hardshell case accompanies this beauty, which is in very good shape overall. The Tweed exterior shows some wear and staining but is still well-adhered to the plywood. The interior lining is also in good shape. Hinges are intact and functional, although the spring mechanism has worn out on each hinge lock latch. This is an undeniably classic Maple-necked Strat that's all-original where it counts and offers some top-notch playability that is poised to offer many years of enjoyment to its next owner. This is yet another fabulous & desirable May 1959 Fender Stratocaster, 1 of the few made in the 1st month of Slab Rosewood Neck production, in nearly untouched original condition. It has a really neat 2 -Tone ‘burst refinish over a very lightweight Alder Hardtail body. Its killer Slab Rosewood fingerboard sits on top of a nice maple neck having no pencil date which is as usual. What makes this Strat so cool is its got a factory “8” screw clean Nitro Green’gard that was only done on the very 1st ones from May 1959 prior to changing it up for 11 screws by June to keep them from warping. Loaded w/its original set of 3 black bottom pickups & have original pots dating perfectly in time from the 20th week of 1959. Its neck has its original spaghetti Logo now w/some clear overspray over it. It’s still sporting its original single line Kluson Deluxe tuners. 1st year Slab Neck Fenders are as hot as anything in the vintage Strat world & so few were made May 1959. This is a no excuse example for the pickiest player/collector at a fair market price. It’s excellent overall & comes in an original Brown Tolex hard case.
Take a closer look at how this key Strat feature makes it such a versatile guitar.

First the quintessential good and bad news: The good news is that this is a rare original 1963 Fender Stratocaster with 100% original parts! The bad news is that it seems to have been refinished a long time ago in Fiesta Red. According to the previous owners it was done by Selmer in England (after the US import ban ended in the late 50's, Selmer was the first to import Fender guitars into England and sprayed them in the factory to the color people wanted. And guess what: everybody wanted to be Hank Marvin...) or maybe it was refinished by someone else long time ago. There is some old Sunburst still visible on the body and also some even older Desert Sand undercoat which could mean it already was originally finished in Fiesta Red by Fender. Hard to tell 100%. Anyway, Custom Color Pre-CBS Fender Stratocasters are probably the most sought after Strats in the world and this 3.68Kg early 1963 5 digit (pre L-series) serial Stratocaster is just the perfect guitar to fulfil one of your dreams. This baby has an amazing tone, feels super smooth, has well balanced sounds and lots of bells and harmonics. The neck pickup is warm and bluesy and very powerful, the bridge pickup rocks with snappy attack and the middle position is rich and sparkly. This guitar plays so easy you can pick it up and play it all day long. The original alder body has all correct '62 - early '63 marks like pinholes, nail holes, shoulder control cavity and body shape. It has the three original 1963 black bottom pickups with rubber grommets, measuring 5,86k (bridge), 5,68k (middle) and 6,96k (neck) Ohm with the original paper masking tape, original pots with matching 304 6302 code (week 2 1963), wiring, jack output, jack cup, cloth wire, disc capacitor, original pickguard and shield, knobs, switch tip, pickup covers, tremolo block, tremolo arm and tip, stamped saddles, backplate in near mint condition, neckplate with serial 93460, screws, Kluson Deluxe single line tuners, string tree etc. etc. Together with an extra (original) tremolo spring, the original CRL1452 switch (PAT's 2291516 2291517 6503883) is in the case and in perfect working condition. Currently installed is a CRL Pat.No. 6503885 5-way switch but if preferred that can easily be restored back to original before shipping it out. All solder is untouched except for the switch replacement parts. The "flame" maple neck is stamped 2 MAR 63 B and is in great condition with the original nitro finish faded and worn on the back to a smooth clean feel. The BRZ RW fretboard is in good shape with only an indent on the treble side close to the 11th fret and some wear on the lower positions. Clay dots are in the "pre mid-'63" position at the 12th under the A and b string. The neck feels so smooth and easy and plays effortlessly. Original 1963 Fender 3 patent no. spaghetti logo decal, single string tree, Kluson Deluxe single line tuners and a beautiful dark figured fretboard. It was refretted and the frets are in perfect condition as well. The neck feels super smooth and has that typical early '63 C shape that feels very comfortable. The guitar comes with the original early 60's Fender Brown rectangular case made by Cheney England in good condition. All the latches work but the outer two are missing the springs.
Another knock-out SL Deluxe from our friends at b3 Guitars! Love Les Pauls but wish they were more comfortable like your favorite Stratocaster? Love Strats and wish you could get into the Gibson 'thing' without sacrificing that familiar feel / body shape? Read on, friend... This lightly relic'd Dark Burst SL Deluxe features a 4/5A flame maple top, hollow mahogany body (sans F hole), mahogany neck w/a rosewood board, super comfy Standard C carve (.83"-.96"), 12" radius, trapezoid inlays, b3 PAF-style humbuckers, TonePros bridge/tailpiece, 24.625" scale, and a 1 11/16" nut. Gibson players will no doubt recognize these specs as the basic "recipe" for a Les Paul style guitar. For all intents and purposes, this is a Les Paul (save for its hollowbody construction) - but - its quite a bit more comfortable with better balance, a tummy cut, effortless upper fret access, and it weighs in at a whopping 7lbs 4oz! We're big fans of b3's PAF-style humbuckers. They do the "Tele on Steroids" sound really well. Clean tones have a nice dry, midrange along with a sweet and articulate top end response...kick on your fave gain pedal (or crank your amp of choice) and you'll be grinning in no time. Simply put? This guitar delivers iconic Les Paul tones with a touch more air and clarity thanks to the chambered construction. While other builders like Paul Reed Smith have worked from similar concepts - Fender meets Gibson - b3 guitars have a decidedly more vintage feel and tone vs a PRS (makes sense given that Gene was a Master Builder at the Fender Custom Shop and also spent time at Gibson's Custom Shop - he has intimate knowledge of what makes great instruments from those brands tick). If that sounds appealing in any way, snag this beauty - you won't regret it. Priced with hardshell case.
