Be assured that every garment in this listing comes with the corresponding pattern. At over 80 years old this magazine represents the height of 1930s fashion. With luscious knitting patterns, needle work and sewing projects. There are fashion and beauty tips as well as illuminating adverts. Further along there is a collection of delicious (looking) recipes. Unfortunately there is no free transfer. Apart from a missing back cover the magazine is complete and available as a PDF download only. The original size is approx 30cm by 22cm. As expected there are one or two imperfections. Including the adverts-36 pages plus the front covers only. (the back one, of course, is missing). Available as a PDF Download only. A PDF Reader is required.

All kinds of vintage designs to make in this 1950 copy of STITCHCRAFT magazine - also a wealth of adverts which are so deliciously evocative of the period. This magazine is still in great condition with only minor signs of age. I really love that knitted set on the cover. This is more than simply a source of vintage designs - it`s social history. Perfect for anyone who loves old magazines, advertising or vintage fashion. THE MEASUREMENTS... The magazine measures 9¾" x 7½" and has a total of 28 pages including covers. On my monitor the colours are spot on but do remember that all monitors vary. PLEASE NOTE that if you are not at home to accept a parcel then this is likely to result in delays and difficulties. Once I have dispatched an item it is largely out of my hands and, whilst I will do all that I can to assist you, I dispatch to the address provided in good faith and cannot accept responsibility if there is nobody there to accept delivery. POSTAGE QUOTED IS USUALLY STANDARD AND UNTRACKED - I would always recommend an upgrade to tracked shipping although I will leave the choice to you but please remember that I cannot be responsible for untracked parcels which get lost although I`m happy to make a claim on your behalf – untracked Royal Mail standard shipping is only covered for £20. If no upgrade is available at the checkout then the service is already a tracked one. Please do take time to view all of my pictures and read the description – if you need any more information then I`m here to help. *Please note that no other items seen in my pictures are included* On my monitor the colours are spot on but do remember that monitors vary. I am always happy to combine shipping where practical and will refund any overpayment promptly. If shipping to your country isn`t quoted then please do get in touch – I`m happy to post to you wherever you live. Thank you for visiting my little shop – please do call in again soon! Please don't forget that I sell unique vintage & antique pieces… There will almost certainly be some evocative signs of their previous history to be found. That is the nature - and the SHEER JOY - of such pieces. If pristine is your preference then my eclectic, characterful - and sometimes charmingly shabby - treasures simply won't be for you.

Fabulous vintage Stitchcraft magazine from February 1958, with 38 pages full of crafting patterns, ideas and instructions for knitting, embroidery and needlework projects. My photos only show some pages to give you a flavour. Note: The magazine is preloved and in fair condition for its age, however the front and back covers of this edition are not attached(see photo) to magazine although the rest of magazine is intact. As a whole it’s perfectly usable. (Disclaimer: Be aware this being a vintage item it may contain descriptive language with some patterns which is rightly unacceptable by modern standards. I do not use or condone such language)

This sassy tunic is knitted in a bulky weight yarn for extra core warmth. Seriously, this is so warm, I’m glad it has short sleeves! The ribbing for the sleeves are worked first and placed onto holders. The body is knit in the round from the bottom up, working the pocket seamlessly as you knit. At the underarms the body is joined to the sleeve ribbing and the yoke is worked in the round to the neck, while working set-in sleeve shaping. There are some short rows worked at the tops of the sleeve caps, then the shoulders are joined with a three needle bind off. Finished Measurements: About 30 (34½, 38¾, 43¼, 47½, 52, 56¼)“ (76 87.5, 98.5, 110, 120.5, 132, 143 cm) bust circumference Yarn: Shown in Quince & Co. Puffin (100% American wool; 100 gram ball = approx 112 yards / 102 m) 4 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8) skeins in color Nasturtium or approx 448 (510, 570, 640, 700, 750, 820) yards in a comparable earth-friendly yarn. Knitting Needles: Size US 11 (8 mm): 16” and 32” (40 and 80 cm) circular needle and double pointed needles (dpns); Size US 13 (9 mm): 24” and 40” (60 and 100 cm) circular needle. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Notions: Stitch markers; stitch holders or waste yarn; two cable needles; tapestry needle. Gauge: 11 sts and 16 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in St st with larger needles; 17 sts = 4¼“ (11 cm) in Cable Panel with larger needles. Take time to save time, check your gauge.

STITCHCRAFT: Entire January 1940 Edition, with knitting, sewing and well as some unfamiliar recipes. At over 80 years old this magazine represents the height of 1940s fashion and although the ‘free transfer’ has long gone, be assured that every garment illustrated in this listing comes with the corresponding pattern. This large format edition has 36 pages boasting no less than 3 ladies jumpers and a couple for the blokes. There are also accessories, cross stitch, hats, a boys jumper and even some smocking. Although the magazine has been restored, you might still find some minor imperfections Available as a PDF download only
You will receive a PDF digital download of the magazine which has been enlarged and digitally restored to remove creasemarks, stains and other marks of age. You will not receive the original patterns nor the knitted items. Note: some sewing and embroidery patterns require transfers or a pattern to be ordered by post and these are not included. Full copy of this post-war Stitchcraft magazine containing numerous patterns (those pictured plus some additional). The adverts also offer an interesting insight into the period, as although it is post-war, many items are still on ration and in short supply. Single patterns from this magazine are available on request, please message me identifying which pattern you would like and I will add a listing for you at my usual single pattern price Many of the knitting patterns are still being designed with 'make-do-and-mend' in mind and utilise yarn scraps or yarn from a worn out item. To this end, there are patterns with stripes, colour blocks and Fair-Isle Patterns are for 32-34, 33-35in or 34-36 bust. All patterns come with an info sheet which includes a needle size conversion chart and advice on selecting yarn. All my patterns are more than 70 years old to comply with copyright
