This is the first in a series of posts all about the Eastern Palace suite. The Eastern Beauty stamps & Eastern Medallion die bundle in the suite are very cleverly designed to work brilliantly both together and separately, and also combine with other punches & dies for endless possibilities. I featured Eastern Palace & the new 2017-19 In-Colours in my May sneak peek class. This was the first card we made. Fresh fig (one of our new In-colours), gold foil & vanilla make a very elegant combination don't you think? I've used a birthday sentiment from Happy Birthday, Gorgeous on this one, but this design would work well for many occasions. One of my class lovelies made it into a wedding card. The shaped window is cut with the large circle medallion & a medium circle medallion dies plus a scallop circle die from the Layering Circles set. The circles mix and match & can be cut together for a super quick intricate look. I popped the vanilla layer up on a gold foil card layer for lots more shine... not really apparent in the pic. The gold floral medallion in the centre is made with one of the Eastern Gold vinyl stickers from the suite. The stickers are clear with a gold foil look, and some coordinate & can be cut with the dies. For this one I stuck the sticker on gold cardstock, then cut it out with the 2 coordinating dies. I kept the inside simple, just adding more sentiments & a gold border sticker. So that's card of my Eastern Palace review. I hope you liked it. Lots more to come tomorrow so pop in again tomorrow. Thanks for visiting. Inky wishes, Di If you haven't checked out the Eastern Palace suite yet, check out the discounted bundle in the full card supply list below. I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set bundle from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2017-18 Annual Catalog to create two quick cards to share with you today. I couldn’t decide which one I like…

Yes, I'm shouting and, yes, I'm blogging on another day that starts with "T" because this is a big day! We can all start ordering from the new 2017 Stampin' Up! annual catalog today, and I just couldn't wait until tomorrow to announce that. It's kind of a big deal, ya know? Today's card was inspired by my stamping friend and downline, Sherry, who graciously said I could use her idea for her anniversary card. I changed it up a wee bit, but most of the elements are the same - the tree, the two Adirondack chairs, and the little enamel heart are all her idea! This used two stamp sets, along with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits chair die. I was happy to see that Sheltering Tree carried over, and thought the greeting from Just Add Text went perfectly with the two chairs. Ahhh, I can just imagine sitting under the tree with a dear friend, enjoying the breeze, the rustle of the tree's leaves, and the birds singing. The only thing missing in this picture is a frosty margarita. Heh heh. This is me doing a happy dance because the Man in Brown brought a big box of NEW GOODIES for me to play with! Of course, as soon as I opened the box I had to stop dancing....kinda hard to stamp straight if you're wiggling, ya know. The first thing I wanted to play with was the Oh So Eclectic bundle, because I LOVE the flowers, and I LOVE the coordinating die set! The stamp sets are available in either clear-mount, or wood-mount. You can purchase the stamps and dies separately or bundle them and save 10%! I had a 2" x 6" scrap piece of Color Theory DSP, and found the 2" width fits perfectly behind the die cut! I think the Crushed Curry ombre is just lovely, and is the perfect background for the Fresh Fig flowers (say that five times fast!). I really should be getting the rest of my garden planted, but I can't drag myself out of the craft room! Maybe I'll wait until it cools off later today. Meanwhile, I'll play a bit more. If I do a load of laundry, perhaps I can convince my hubby that I'm being productive. Here's the "How To" Flowers/leaves: Shimmery White scraps Die cut background: Shimmery White 3" x 4-1/4" Mat: Fresh Fig 3-1/8" x 4-3/8" DSP: Color Theory 2" x 4-1/4" Card base: 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored & folded at 4-1/4" Stamp plus signs in Crushed Curry ink on card base, as shown. Cut Shimmery White background with the diamond die, having die centered. Use dots of liquid glue to attach DSP behind it. Adhere to Fresh Fig mat. Stamp vertical greeting in black as shown. Attach to card base with dimensionals. Stamp leaves in Garden Green on a scrap of Shimmery White. Stamp large flower in Fresh Fig and color with a Blender Pen and Fresh Fig ink. Color flower center with Crushed Curry. Use corresponding dies to cut them out. Color smaller flower with Fresh Fig Stampin' Write Marker and the stem with Garden Green marker, using the marker to stamp technique. Huff on the stamp to re-moisten ink and stamp. Color flower and stem with Blender Pen in ink. Use corresponding die to cut it out. Attach flowers and leaves to background with dimensionals. Add Glitter Enamel dots. Laat het me gerust weten.

Angel Policy Stempelset. Verwendete Stampin' Up! Good morning! Hope all is well for everyone. We have another great sketch from Kaylin this week AND we have a guest designer. A few weeks back, we ran a contest to choose a guest designer (chosen by random generator) and Karen Finkle was our lucky winner. Here is what Karen says about herself: My first exposure to stamping was in 2011 and I was not interested. In 2012 I was invited to an "open house" and made four cards. I bought Lovely as a Tree, Plant Hope and the sample inks and sample cardstock. We traveled in an RV in 2012 and 2013 so I didn't make too many cards. In 2014 our RVing came to a screeching halt due to my husband's health. For stress relief, I started working on cards. In January 2016 I became a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and I was my sole customer. In March 2017 I resigned as a demonstrator. However, I feel like it won't be too long before I do it again as I love challenges as it gets those creative juices flowing! I am thankful that CherylAnn gave me the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday . This is our sketch: The Optional Technique is "All Bolds or All Pastels". Here is Karen's card: And the cards from our team: Sara H. Sharon Shell Vicki Donna Libby Maria Great cards, ladies! Very inspirational. I am certain our viewers will want to play along after seeing your cards. Thank you so much for being on our team and thank you to Karen for joining us this week. Followers, as always, you have two weeks to join in the fun and you can enter below or on our Facebook page. Happy creating, all!
I sat for a very long time with this color challenge...staring at all my floral sets for some reason. Then it hit me to grab my Fabulous Flamingo set! Glad I did! I started with the flamingo where I stamped full on the whole body and stamped off once for the feathers. I started to layer the detail stamp over in navy, but then decided I liked this look. The Bermuda Bay is great for the water but what to do with the Night of Navy? I then thought about the birds from High Tide set which look good in a dark color. I stamped them up and added the thanks sentiment from the flamingo set. I did all this without thinking of a layout. Then I remembered a card I had seen this morning that used this scallop die from Seasonal Layers thinlits dies. I then used it with some Flirty Flamingo card stock and layered it all on a Bermuda Bay base. I finished it off with a few rhinestones on the water. Hope you can play with this color combo challenge over at global-design-project.com this week. Thanks for stopping by! Have a fab day!
