Welcome to my Monday Makeover Madness. My card today is a makeover of this one below. The makeover card has an Orchid Oasis Cardstock Base with a Neena Bright White Mat, and Hues of Happiness DSP 1 1/4" squares. After I adhered the squares to the mat, I ran it through my embossing machine with the retired Tufted Textured Impressions EF. I attached 5 knotted pieces of retired Baker's Twine from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. The sentiment from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set, is stamped in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the retired Story Label Punch. The Polished Pink Cardstock mat is punched with the Label Me Lovely Punch. It's adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped the rose from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set in Polished Pink on the left corner of my envelope. For the inside, I used the retired Detailed Trio Punch to punch three of the corners. The sentiment from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set is stamped in Orchid Oasis ink. The rose is from the Happiness Abounds set and is stamped in Polished Pink ink. I colored the center with my Light So Saffron Stampin' Blend. I adhered a strip of the Hues of Happiness DSP to the envelope flap. I'm entering my card at Pammie's Inky Pinkies Challenge #2226, Crafty Gals Corner: Challenge #232 - Anything Goes, and Can You Handle the Pressure - Anything Goes Embossing but I am not doing the optional twist of "Wings". Thank you for stopping by today. Even though tomorrow is not the third Tuesday of the month, I will be doing a post so I hope you'll stop back. Hello and welcome! Today I have a bunch (11 to be exact) of quick, easy and very pretty floral cards to share with you. These are for Just Add Ink's newest challenge - probably the easiest ever - Just add Flowers! These cards are all thanks to 3 gorgeous paper prints from the Hues of Happiness pack. They began with a single card I made as a make and take project for an afternoon tea I organised for my lovely team, customers and crafty friends earlier in June. There are 5 elements to the first card & most of the others: Paper strip 1: Watercolour wash look. It even looks like it has texture (14.4 x 2.5cm / 5.75 x 1 inch) Paper strip 2: Flower cluster (14.4 x 4cm / 5.75 x 1-5/8 inches) Paper 3: Flower & leaves - die cut from a single sheet using the Happiness Abounds bundle dies. I bent the flower edges & shapes to give some more shape. Dimensionals around the edge & glue dot in the centre helps give more shape too. Banner: Stylish Shapes die set - largest banner. Love love love these! Sentiments: Front and inside sentiments from the Happiness Abounds stamp set & die bundle, stamped in Basic Gray or Smoky Slate on Basic White base and banner. Sparkle: Iridescent rhinestones finish off the look. Here are the full set of designs in the Hues of Happiness paper pack, and the 3 sheet designs I used to make all these cards. Note: I mostly used the pink & yellow sections for the cards (I cut the sheet in half to start) as I'd cut the pink and yellow flower sheet, however there's another flower sheet with purple and blue flowers that team beautifully with the blue, purple & green section. Anyway onto the whole set together. I laid them out in a progression of elements. Of course there are a ton more ideas you can make with the same pieces. I just stopped when I ran out of cut pieces. They really were quick to make - and I am a pretty slow cardmaker - and would be beautiful bundled up as a gift for a friend or family member. Take a closer look - Click on the pics for an even better look at each of the cards. These show the simple variations in the original designs and colour variations using the 2 different colour schemes in the paper (still just using only one sheet of flowers. More variations - I tried different sentiments from Happiness Abounds and played around with the strip and flower combinations. Number 4 above and first below have some additional Polished Pink cardstock. Nothing goes to waste - the flowers on the top left card below are partial shapes from around the paper edge. Inside I kept it very simple, combining sentiments from Happiness Abounds. You could use another strip or flower if you wanted to step up the design even more, or even stamp a coordinating flower from the bundle. Phew! That's a lot of cards and pics. I hope you've enjoyed seeing my simple floral designs and try making a bunch of your own. If I make more, I'll share them with you too. If you did like them or have any questions, just leave a comment on the post. Until then, head over to the Just Add Ink blog and see all the beautiful floral creations the team has made to share with you too, then create your own flower project to share with us. Thanks for visiting today. Be sure to check out the full supply list here in my store where you can shop for what you need to make your own. You will LOVE the Hues of Happiness paper. HUES OF HAPPINESS When I saw the cover photo on Stampin' Up!s new Annual Catalogue I instantly fell in love with the featured card. The cover card apart from the leaf stamps and sentiment is totally made up by combining designer series paper (DSP) and flower images cut from the Hues of Happiness designer series paper. This DSP is simply beautiful and I can tell you it sure makes me smile every time I look at it. The paper is part of the Hues of Happiness Suite (158828). This paper features illustrated and painted flowers on one side and a selection of coordinating all-purpose patterns on the other side. The concept artist(s) who designed Hues of Happiness chose the colours so they'd represent the Stampin' Up! colour spectrum. What wonderful art work. The repeating patterns can be used as focal images, accent pieces or elegant backgrounds and are terrific for card bases and scrapbook pages. The Hues of Happiness DSP coordinates perfectly with the following Stampin' Up! colours: Coastal Cabana Daffodil Delight Flirty Flamingo Fresh Freesia Gorgeous Grape Granny Apple Green Mango Melody Melon Mambo Mossy Meadow Night of Navy and Pool Party. Here are Some Card Ideas I came up with: I haven't purchased the Happiness Abounds Bundle (158824) which includes the Happiness Abounds stamp set and the Blossoming Happiness dies yet as I just wanted to get my hands on the DSP. In particular these two sheets: While I was watching tv I fussy cut all the roses, leaf images and the small flowers that were in the background. Literally there was hardly anything in the scrap pile as everything was cuttable and useable. While I was at it I pre-cut card bases and mats from the coordinating card stock colours and before adhering these mats I die cut stitched circles, squares and rectangles to use on the fronts of my cards from their centers. I also used a variety of embossing folders to add designs to my 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White mats, and left enough space for a larger type sentiment. Card Bases: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4" Mats: 1st mat for card front - 4" x 5 1/4" (1) and cut 1 for the inside Whisper White layer 3 3/4" x 5" for front and one for the inside. The card base for this card is Starry Sky, followed by a layer of silver foil card stock. The embossing was done on the top part of the whisper white mat with the retired Meadow Moments Embossing Folder. I stamped the "thanks" sentiment which is from the Artistically Inked stamp set in Starry Sky ink. The flowers were adhered directly to the white mat with adhesive except for the Fresh Freesia flower which was attached with dimensionals. Here is another version of the thank you card. On this one I've used a Fresh Freesia mat for contrast and used a 3" Starry Skye stitched circle as a base for the floral arrangement. The embossing folder is called Greenery (Retired). embossing folder to For this thank you card I didn't do any embossing in the background, choosing to leave it plain, but I changed up the mat and flower colours and added a double stitched circle mat in Fresh Freesia and Whisper White. The sentiment is from Plentiful Plants (155693). Basic Pearls add a touch of nostalgia to this card. I built a larger bouquet of the Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo floral images and framed them using the Stitched With Whimsy (155314) dies. My final card is a fun fold flap card. I totally loved this as I was able to use a mixture of designs. And because I love this Flap Card so much, I made another one featuring some bolder papers from the Hues of Happiness DSP. Let me know which is your favourite. Well that's it for this post. I look forward to sharing some more cards made with this beautiful designer series paper. Next time around I'll share some Birthday and Thinking of You cards. Hope you enjoyed them, I'd love to hear which are your favourites. HAPPY STAMPING! Wisterias hold a special place in my heart. I 'inherited' a wisteria when we moved into this house 24 years ago. It's one of the only remaining original plants in my garden, I've planted almost everything else in the garden since then. But the wisteria is gorgeous, and FUN FACT, it blooms every year for our son's birthday in late March!! When I saw the Wisteria Wishes bundle in the new Stampin' UP! catalog, I knew right away it would be on my first order AND I knew exactly what I was going to do.... die cut the flowers
