Ahhhh isn't this pretty? I think Pale Papaya is my favorite of the five new colors from Stampin' Up! It is not your typical peach, that's for sure, warm and intense without a hint of pink. Look at how amazingly it pairs with two of the other new colors, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent. So gorgeous for summer. I did my fourth Facebook live featuring this color yesterday--here it is! Pale Papaya projects all featuring the Hand-Penned suite, which is a real knockout. See what I mean about this buttery color? It really is something special. Can't wait to play...

It is a dreary day here in Virginia! It's been raining on and off since last night and it is gray and soggy. A perfect time to stay in and stamp. A not so perfect time to try to photograph projects or record videos! My stamp room lighting deficiencies are shown in full on dark days like this! What kind of lights do you use for your stamping space and for photography and video recording? Usually I just use natural light from my big window for photographs and that works really well but on days like this it's hard to get enough light. Check back over the next few days for some how to videos if I can get them to not look like I'm in a cave! My desk lamp and the camera ring light will be working over time for sure! For today I have a clean and simple (CAS) card that I'm sharing over at CAS Colours & Sketches for their current layout. It's also the second of two entries to try out for their design team call. To see my first project click HERE. I've had this color combo in my pile of inspiration for a while now and this challenge seemed like the perfect time to use it for this non-geometric shaped flower cluster. The Hand-Penned Petals set is gorgeous no matter what colors you use but I'm really digging this fall inspired combo. I started with a Basic White thick card base that I embossed with the Stitched With Whimsy dies just for a bit of subtle detail. I added a some light shading with my blending brush and Misty Moonlight ink to create a space for the flowers. Next I stamped the big flower cluster in Night of Navy then filled in the flowers with Cajun Craze and Bumblebee ink. The leaves are filled in with Misty Moonlight. I die cut the shape then popped it on the card base with dimensionals but first tucked a piece of retired corduroy ribbon underneath. The sentiment from Many Messages is stamped in Night of Navy and cut with the Tasteful Labels dies. It's then backed with a Cajun Craze circle and also popped on dimensionals. The final touch are a few Bumblebee enamel dots. Thanks for looking! Did you stamp today? Hello and welcome. It is time for another Stamp'n Hop Blog Hop. Our theme this time around is Simple Stamping. It can be so easy to get carried away with all our wonderful products and just keep adding to a project. Next you know, you need to spend hundreds of dollars on product to make one card. That is so silly. I may be guilty of doing that a lot, but in my defence, I am a collector of Stampin' Up!, and have to have it all. So you will be please to know, that I have used just one stamp set on today's card and a sentiment I already had lying on my desk left over from another project. Now that you have seen my creation, it is time to see what Karen has made. You can purchase all the supplies I have used in my online store below, or by using any of my other ordering methods. Have you ever tried water coloring with Stampin' Up's Water Painters? They are so easy to use and make you feel like a real artist! Last night during my Facebook Live presentation, I created these three projects for my viewers. If you missed it, you can watch the replay here. Blushing Bride with Pansy Patch & Hand-penned Petals Hi. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week's Blog Hop is focussing on another colour starting with "B", that is Blushing Bride. Blushing Bride is a pretty pale pink. It is a lovely colour and is part of the Subtles Colour Family. Blushing Bride is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Hand Penned & Subtles Designer Series Papers (DSP) and Hand Penned Memories & More Cards. I loved playing with Blushing Bride so ended up creating 2 cards to share. However, in doing so I am now running short on time to write my blog, so I won't go into as much detail as I usually do. That said, please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any queries. Here are my Blushing Bride projects: Project 1: I started by playing with some water colouring on Fluid 100 paper, using Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' ink and Stampin' Up!'s flat end Water Painter. In the end I cut the piece of water-colour paper into 2 and have used the piece that was pretty well coloured all over. The 2nd piece will be used another time. Once the water-coloured paper was dry, I embossed it with a new set of decorative masks, ie the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks and Shimmery Embossing Paste. I usually forget about embossing paste, but I love the effect. I'm thankful to Emma Goddard who used some embossing paste in her Facebook Live this week and reminded me to give it ago. I hadn't used my Pansy Patch bundle and thought it would be great to showcase Blushing Bride, so I die cut pieces of Basic White card-stock using the Pansy dies to form flowers, buds and leaves. I part coloured each piece using Blushing Bride, So Saffron & Soft Sea Foam Classic Stampin' inks and sponge daubers. Must admit, I used a Sponge Dauber for the leaves that had previously been used with a darker green. I tried it on scrap paper and no ink was transferred so I inked it up with Soft Sea Foam, however, the colour that transferred onto the leaves was not a pure Soft Sea Foam green so I applied ink lightly as I didn't have an un-inked dauber to use. The flowers and bud were pieced together using Glue Dots. The water-coloured panel was mounted on a slightly larger piece of Blushing Bride card-stock. Before arranging the pansies, a piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding was wrapped around the card front and tied in a bow. The flowers, bud and leaves were arranged and then adhered with either Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Dimensionals. A sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink on Blushing Bride card-stock and heat embossed using White Stampin' Emboss Powder and a Heat Gun. A few white Elegant Faceted Gems were added as the finishing touch. A piece of Basic White card-stock that had been pierced with the Stitched Greenery die was adhered to a Thick Basic White card-stock base. I so love the subtle and beautiful effect of this die. The card front was popped up on Dimensionals. The card inner was created by stamping the delightful pansy and leaves in Blushing Bride and Soft Sea Foam. Another sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set was stamped in Polished Pink ink to give the sentiment added strength of colour. The card inner was mounted on Blushing Bride card-stock. A Basic White C6 Envelope was also stamped with the delightful little pansy in Blushing Bride ink to link it to the card it will carry. (I love Stampin' Up!s distinctive stamps that give variegated levels of colour with just one step - check out the detail of the pansies on the envelope.) PROJECT 2: After creating the pansy card, I remembered the Stampin' Up!s Designer Series Paper Sale that is on throughout the month of July, with 15% of selected papers. It's a good deal that needs to be highlighted so you don't miss out. This was the impetus for the 2nd project. Even though I was running out of time, I didn't want to miss the opportunity to showcase at least one of the gorgeous Designer Series Papers - especially as the Hand Penned DSP is one of my favs. One of the designs in the Hand-Penned DSP was Blushing Bride and White, so it was perfect for my card. A piece was cut to card front size. Both Basic White and Blushing Bride card-stocks were cut with one of the dies from the Basic Borders dies. Do check them out in the catalogue - they are great. The detailed die from the Penned Flowers dies was used to die cut Basic White card-stock multiple times. The die cuts were then arranged and adhered all over the white panel, giving a subtle, though effective tone on tone effect. White Crinkled Seam Binding was wrapped around the centre and tied in a bow. A floral stamp from the coordinating Hand-Penned Petals stamp set was stamped in Basic Grey ink twice and the flower's infill stamp was used with Blushing Bride ink. Stampin' Blends Combos were used to further colour the flowers and leaves, ie Polishing Pink, So Saffron, Smoky Slate and the Colour Lifter. The flowers alone were coloured on the second image and they were fussy cut and added over the first image to give added dimension. A sentiment from the stamp set was also stamped in Basic Gray ink and fussy cut. Pearl Basic Jewels were added to finish the card front design. The card inner was created with a piece of the same Blushing Bride Hand-penned DSP and a large Scalloped Contours die. A Basic White C6 Envelope was stamped with the same flower, but this time in Blushing Bride ink. It doesn't need a lot of effort to bring coordination. Thank you for visiting Valley Inspirations with Andrea. I had fun playing with some water-colouring, daubering/sponging and infill stamping/Blends colouring featuring Blushing Bride to create these projects to share. Smoky Slate with Hand Penned Petals Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the 47th Colour Creations Showcase by members of the Art with Heart Team. After tonight, we have 3 colours plus the new In Colours to complete our showcase of Stampin' Up!s amazing collection of colours. This week we are showcasing a versatile colour, Smoky Slate. It is a light grey and as one of the Neutrals Colour Family, it is able to be used with so many other colours and in various ways. I love grey with pink so have chosen this as my colour combination to showcase Smoky Slate. Smoky Slate has been produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, Designer Series Paper including the In Good Taste DSP; and the new Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon. As I was planning for tonight's blog hop, I wanted to use one of the new bundles from the newly launched 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. I so love the sketchy nature of the Hand Penned Petals stamp set and the coordinating dies are delightful. I also wanted to use one of the Scalloped Contour dies as I wasn't pleased with the project I blogged last week and felt I hadn't shown these dies well - I wanted to redress it this week. Having made a start, I separately watched a replay of Emma Goddard's Sunday night Facebook live. One of Emma's layouts was similar to what I had in mind. I'd like to say "great minds think alike" however, I don't put myself in Emma's league. I did think of changing tack but my week has gone somewhat haywire and time was limited so decided to CASE a couple of other elements of Emma's card by adding some blending and stamping to the background as well as the positioning of the ribbon. Thanks Emma for your inspiration. You are amazing. As mentioned, to create the background for the card front some Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' ink was applied with a Blending Brush to the centre of a piece of Basic White card-stock. A little stamping also was added using stamped-off Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' ink. This panel was then dry embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. At the same time the top Basic White panel was similarly embossed. The Basic White background panel was adhered to the Smoky Slate card base. A mid size Scalloped Contour die was used to cut a Smoky Slate panel. The slightly smaller embossed white panel was adhered directly to the scalloped contour panel. The floral spray from the Hand Penned Petals stamp set was stamped twice onto Basic White card-stock in Smoky Slate Classic Stampin ink. The stamped floral sprays were coloured with Stampin' Up!s amazing Stampin' Blends. The colours used were: Smoky Slate, Soft Succulent & Petal Pink combos and a touch of Light Polished Pink. I am delighted that all of the new In Colours have coordinating Stampin' Blends - I can see more colouring in the future. The 3 larger flowers were fussy cut from one spray while the other floral spray was cut out using the coordinating die. The 3 larger flowers were hand shaped and adhered to the full spray, with a little glue at the centre. A piece of gorgeous Soft Succulent Open Weave ribbon was tied around the centre panel ending in a bow. Then the coloured flower spray was adhered on top with Dimensionals. The whole panel was added to the centre of the card background with Dimensionals. To finish the card front design a sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in Smoky Slate ink onto a scrap of Basic White card-stock. It was fussy cut into 2 pieces and adhered with a mix of tiny pieces of Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue. My fingers felt HUGE as I tried to layer tiny pieces of Dimensionals - looking at the sentiment I had chosen I had to keep saying to myself "anything is possible"! Some In Colour Soft Succulent Jewels were the finishing touch. These jewels are amazing. To create the card inner, the floral spray was stamped in the corner in Smoky Slate ink and a little Soft Succulent ink was lightly blended at the edges. The C6 Basic White Envelope was decorated in the same way. Thank you so much for visiting Valley Inspirations with Andrea. I loved creating this card to share with you. I hope you like it too. As mentioned, Stampin' Up's 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue was launched this week. If you are in Australia and don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and you would like your own copy of the Catalogue then let me know and I will be delighted to send one to you. Hi Stampers, Today’s post will be dedicated to a type of die I don’t use often. I call them the INTRICATE DETAIL dies. I have no clue what they are officially called, but to me intricate detail describes them perfectly. The type of die I am talking about is like this one from the PENNED FLOWERS DIES: It is very pretty, and when I use it to die cut the image from cardstock, I like the result, but rarely do I actually do something with the die cut. They tend to be difficult to adhere (there are solutions for this problem), and I sometimes just am at a loss when it comes to incorporating them in a card design. So, today I decided it is time for me to overcome these challenges. I am sharing my results and a few tips. First let’s take a look at the entire set of the PENNED FLOWERS DIES and the coordinating stamp set, HANDED- PENNED PETALS. These items are featured as a bundle and as part of a suite in the STAMPIN’ UP! 2021-2022 ANNUAL CATALOG which goes live one week from today (4 May 2021). PENNED FLOWERS DIES & HAND-PENNED PETALS (HAND-PENNED PETALS BUNDLE) Here are the items I used from this bundle to create today’s cards. (The floral bouquet stamp image, the outline die, and the intricate detail die.) Here are the cards. For this card I used the outline die and the intricate detail die to create pieces for the card’s focal point. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - HAND-PENNED DSP (Blushing Bride) Other Cardstock - Blushing Bride and Basic White Ink - Versa Mark and White Embossing Powder Other Dies - Layering Circle Dies and Stitched So Sweetly Dies Adhesives - Dimensionals and Multi-purpose Glue * The Happy Birthday greeting is from the PANSY PATCH stamp set. Use the Versa Mark to stamp the greeting on Blushing Bride cardstock. Sprinkle the white I die cut the intricate detail image from Basic White cardstock, and used the multipurpose glue to adhere it to the Blushing Bride piece I cut with the outline die. When using multipurpose glue to adhere the intricate detail dies I look for the largest spaces on the die cut and apply the glue in those areas in a very thin line. To avoid too much using too much glue, I squeeze a bit of glue out on my silicone craft sheet or on a scrap of paper. Once the glue has started it is easier to control the amount that comes out as you apply it to the die cut. Die cut a Basic White circle using the largest of the Layering Circle Dies, and from a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock cut a scalloped circle using the largest scalloped die. Adhere the two circle die cuts together. Now adhere the floral piece to the circles. Adhere the DSP to the card base.Use dimensionals to attach the focal point and greeting to the card. This card is similar to the card above, except it does not have the solid die cut image. The intricate detail die is adhered directly to the panel? I used the multipurpose glue for this die cut too. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Garden Green 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - HAND-PENNED DSP (Garden Green) Other Cardstock - Basic White 5 1/4” x 4”, Garden Green and Basic White for the focal point Ink - Versa Mark and white embossing powder Other Dies - Stitched So Sweetly Adhesives - multipurpose glue, dimensionals *The greeting is from the SWEET STRAWBERRY stamp set. For the next card I stamped the floral image with Memento Tuxedo Black on Basic White cardstock, colored the image with Stampin’ Blends. I used the intricate detail die cut in Basic Black as an overlay for the floral image. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - Pattern Party - black& white check Other Cardstock - Basic Black 5 1/2” x 3” plus a piece for the die cut & Basic White for the floral image Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Blends of your choice for the flower image Other - white crinkled seam binding ribbon -12-14 inches. Adhesives - multipurpose glue and dimensionals * The greeting is from HAND-PENNED PETALS Stamp the greeting with the Tuxedo Black ink toward the lower right corner of the card base. Stamp the floral image on Basic White. Use Stampin’ Blends to color the image. Die cut the image and die cut the intricate detail image. Adhere the Basic Black overlay to the floral image. Adhere the checked DSP to the Basic Black mat. Tie the crinkled seam binding ribbon around the piece on the left side, and tie a bow. Trim the ends. Adhere the piece to the card base along the top of the card. Adhere the floral piece to the card with dimensionals. This card was easy to make. It is just a Basic White intricate detail die cut colored with Stampin’ Blends. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White (thick) 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” and a piece for the die cut Ink - Soft Succulent and Stampin’ Blends (or Stampin’ Write Markers). Other: In Color Open Weave Ribbon in Soft Succulent - about 18” and Champagne Rhinestones Adhesive: multipurpose glue * The greeting is from the TIMELESS TULIPS stamp set Stamp the greeting toward the bottom center of the card. Adhere the die cut to the card. Place the rhinestones in the centers of the flowers. Tie the ribbon around the card and make a bow. Trim the ends. The card is complete! TIPS FOR ADHERING THE INTRICATE DETAIL DIES 1. Use the method I described above with the multipurpose glue. 2. Multipurpose glue and a sponge. Place the die cut face down on a silicone craft sheet (or a piece of wax paper or parchment paper). Put a dab of the glue on the craft sheet. Dip a wedge of a craft sponge in the glue. Pounce the sponge gentle over the back side of the die cut. * Stampin’ Up! discontinued the Stampin’ Sponges. A sponge dauber can be substituted. After use wash out as much of the glue as possible and let dry. I am not sure how many uses you will get from the sponge dauber. I have used the same dauber twice, and it appears I will get at least one more use from it. 3. Fine Tip Glue Pen - The tip on this glue is made for the intricate dies. The tip can become clogged if the little pin inside the lid is not inserted into the tip of the bottle correctly when putting on the lid. I use it from time to time. 4. Mini Glue Dots - Some of the intricate detail dies have areas where the mini glue dots will fit. Sometimes I cut the glue dots in half, or use the paper piercing tip of the Take Your Pick Tool to roll the glue dot over on itself (sort of fold it in half), and place the glue dot on the die cut. 5. Adhesive Sheets - peel the backing off one side of a section of an adhesive sheet. Place a piece of cardstock the same size as the adhesive sheet over the exposed adhesive. Place the die on top of the cardstock and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (or other die cut machine). Peel the adhesive off the back dice of the die cut, and place it on the mat, card base, etc. There are several other die sets in the new catalog that contain the intricate detail dies. One is the Sunflowers Dies which are found in the current Annual Catalog. The Brilliant Wings Dies, which are available now as a special promotion. Here is another look at the cards I created with the intricate detail die from the PENNED FLOWERS DIES: That is it for today. Thank you for stopping by. Until next time... Stamp Happy!
