For today’s card I wanted to showcase some of the Sale-a-bration items. The Feels Like Home Stamp Set and the Peaceful Prints DSP are both items you can get for free. I love how the detailed image can be used with many different types of coloring mediums, like watercolor or Stampin’ Blend Markers, or even use it without color for a beautiful quick and simple card. Even though the Peaceful Prints DSP has a Holiday Theme many of the patterns can be used for other types of projects. I hope you enjoy this handmade card tutorial and come back for more. I would love to see your finished creations that are inspired by this tutorial! Hi friends and welcome to another amazing Monday Montage Blog Hop! This past week has been flooded with Convention memories with so many of these talented stampers in this group. I love each and every one of them!! I am slowly, but surely working my way through my Mini and Sale-A-Bration catalogs pre-order. I may have ordered more than I actually thought...shocking, right?!? I ordered enough to earn myself a few Sale-A-Bration items, including the beautiful Feels Like Home stamp set. I love the door image with the bike! This image is absolutely beautiful when it is watercolored, but I was in a Stampin' Blend kind of mood when I created this card. I may not have the same look as watercolor, but it is still just as pretty! I had a mess of Stampin' Blends on my desk after adding color. After coloring the image, I tore the edges of the paper and added it to a piece of Smoky Slate embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder. I love what the torn paper added to the card. A simple Happy Birthday sentiment fussy cut from the Best Year stamp set was all that was needed complete the card. I told my husband this stamp set is going to be a big help in deciding what color to paint our front door! I can stamp as many as I want and color the doors in ALL the colors! Thanks for hopping along with us today! Be sure to keep on hopping until you make your way through the loop! Happy Stamping! Products Used: Sale-A-Bration stamp set: Feels Like Home
Stampin' Up!'s Feels Like Home stamps are perfect for a card to congratulate someone on buying a new home! I'm so excited that this card is on the way to a special young couple that just moved. I love to watercolor this image. This time, I decided to just color part of it for the Spotlight Technique. Such fun! MEASUREMENTS Bermuda Bay Card Base ~ 8-1/2" x 5-1/2", score at 4-1/4" Layer 1 ~ Shimmery White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4" Layer 2 ~ Bermuda Bay Cardstock ~ at least 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" (this will be cut down) Layer 3 ~ Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper ~ at least 1-1/2" x 2-3/4" (this will be die cut) Inside ~ Basic White Cardstock ~ 4" x 5-1/4" Stamp the image on the Shimmery White CS and the Fluid 100 Watercolor paper, using Staz On ink. (Using the Stamparatus helps to center the image) While the ink pads are closed, give them a firm squeeze. Then, open them up to use as paint palettes with the Water Color Painters. Paint the image on the Watercolor paper. Use a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to color just the word 'home' on the sentiment stamp. Stamp in the bottom right corner of the Shimmery White CS. Use your favorite adhesive to adhere the Shimmery White layer to the front of the card base. Once the watercolor is completely dry, use the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out around the door. Don't run the die completely through the machine. Only go a tad over halfway. Then, remove the Watercolor Paper and readjust the die to cut the other end. (This way you can cut a shorter image than the die is.) Trim the Bermuda Bay (Layer 2) to 1/4" bigger than the final die cut piece. Adhere the Watercolor Layer to the Bermuda Bay Layer. Then, attach it, centered, on the front of your card. Stamp 'Congratulations' using Bermuda Bay ink on the Basic White Cardstock. Use Staz On to stamp the flower pot in the corner of the Basic White. Very lightly watercolor the image - don't get it too wet since this isn't watercolor paper. Adhere the finished Basic White CS to the inside of your card. I hope you enjoyed this card!
