Going very, very slowly and gently guiding the fabric with your hands allow the attachment to feed the fabric one stitch rotation at a time - each rotation will create another hole for the hemstitching. When you reach the end of the row, you will have Hemstitched the first pass. Carefully lift the presser foot and rotate your work so that you can finish with the second pass. Align the piercer with the first hole and going very, very, very slowly, make sure the piercer continues to go exactly in the holes with each commencing stitch rotation. If it's just a little bit off, then stop and make slight adjustments to the fabric so that the piercer can get back on track. As you can see from the photos, the rubber pads are soft and supple, enabling even fabric gripping (an absolute necessity for correct operation) All of our Hemstitchers are properly working and tested. Each one is complete with the correct Throat Plate & Attachment Thumb Screw designed specifically for the vintage Singer Sewing Machine model you choose as well as the original box and instructions. A made-for-you sample is also included. Singer Hemstitcher or Veining Attachment allows you to create the appearance of dainty Hemstitching with just a simple adjustment of your upper thread tension. Attachment is secured to the machine like a regular presser foot. Then you will loosely stitch two fabric pieces together. After pulling the fabric apart and pressing properly, topstitch (using a regular presser foot) along the edge and the dainty effect is accomplished. Click here for instructions on how to use the Hemstitcher /Veining attachment. Attachment fits all low shank sewing machines including the Singer Featherweight 221, 222*, Singer 15, 27, 28, 66, 99, 101, 127, 128, 185, 192, 201, 237, etc... This product has two variants; one is the newer style (120687) and the other is the older style (28915). The function of each variation is the same. * Yes, this Hemstitching Attachment fits on the 222K model Featherweight. While the traditional and more common Hemstitching & Picot Edging Attachment does not, this Imitation Hemstitcher allows 222 owners to try their creativity at hemstitching as well.
This is replica screw for the throat plate (sometimes called a needle plate) and will work perfectly for the Singer 15, 66, 99, 201, Featherweight 221 and Singer 301 Models sewing machines. * This throat plate screw will not work on a Singer Featherweight 222K, nor will it work with a vintage Singer Hemstitcher Attachment throat plate. A Singer Hemstitcher throat plate requires an original throat plate screw (contact us directly to order a bona fide original if you need it for the Hemstitcher Attachment).
