Hello my crafting friends, Today I am excited to share with you my May 2022 Artisan Design Team Project. I was asked to use the Sending Smiles Bundle, which includes the Sending Smiles Stamp Set & Sending Dies. These products are available in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog & Online. To purchase any of these products, please visit my online store. The link is below in the description. Today I am going to share with you two never before seen (on my YouTube channel) blending techniques. The first gives texture to a blended background and uses blending brushes along with the wide water painter. The second shows you how to create soft neon colors using, vellum cardstock, heat embossing and blending brushes. Add embossing buddy first to the vellum, then stamp in VersaMark ink. Cover with white embossing powder and heat set. Cut out with coordinating dies. 2- Create a blending background on one of the 4 ¼” x 5 ½” Basic White Cardstock. I used Sweet Sorbet, Starry Sky, Tahitian Tide, and Parakeet Party Ink Pads with Blending Brushes. 3- Use you Wide Water Painter with no water in the bladder. Get the brush wet and then tap on a paper towel until the bristles begin to separate into clumps. Then swipe across the blended background once or twice with the damp Water Painter. Pick up any excess water with a paper towel. Repeat over the entire background. 4- Once that is dry trim down to 3 ¼” x 4 ½”, which is about ½” from all sides. This give the background nice clean edges. 5- Emboss one of the 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White cardstock pieces with the Gingham Embossing Folder and add it to the center of the cardbase. 6- Add the Blending Background to the center of the 3 3/8” x 4 5/8” Basic Black Cardstock. Add 24” of Black Twine to the bottom of the blended piece wrap around twine and tie a bow on either side. Then add everything to the center of the cardbase with dimensionals. 7- Add the white flowers with dimensionals in a nice arrangement to the center above the twine. Make sure to add the dimensionals behind the image so you don’t see it through the vellum – The mini dimensionals are perfect for this. 8- Cut out the “Sending” in Basic Black Cardstock with adhesive sheet. Cut out the background bubble for the sending die cut in Basic White Cardstock. Layer and add to your card with dimensionals above the twine. 9- Stamp your second greeting on Basic Black Cardstock with VersaMark, make sure to use Embossing Buddy before you stamp. Cover with white embossing powder and heat set. Cut out with one of the label dies and add below the twine with dimensionals. All Done! Card #2 1- Stamp your images of the flowers and stems that you want to use on vellum cardstock. Add embossing buddy first to the vellum, then stamp in VersaMark ink. Cover with white embossing powder and heat set. Cut out with coordinating dies. 2- Flip the flowers and stems over and work on the back side. Use your blending brushes and the same colors as card #2. Blend the color right on to the vellum. The color can rub off the vellum, but it will dry over time so don’t touch it too much. I used the Parakeet Party for the leaves and stems, medium size flower in Sweet Sorbet, small flower in Tahitian Tide. Then the tall flowers in Starry Night at the top and Sweet Sorbet at the bottom. 3- Emboss one of the 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White cardstock pieces with the Gingham Embossing Folder and add it to the center of the cardbase. 4- Stamp your greeting at the bottom of the 3” x 4 ¼” Basic Black cardstock. Stamp in VersaMark, make sure to use Embossing Buddy before you stamp. Cover with white embossing powder and heat set. 5- Wrap 22” of White Bakers Twine twice above the greeting and tie a bow on the left side. Add to the center of the cardbase with dimensionals. 6- Add the neon color flowers/stems with mini dimensionals in a nice arrangement to the center above the twine. Make sure to add the dimensionals behind the image so you don’t see it through the vellum – The mini dimensionals are perfect for this. 7- Stamp “Sending” on Vellum in VersaMark make sure to use Embossing Buddy before you stamp. Cover with white embossing powder and heat set. Cut out with coordinating die. Add to your card above the twine with dimensionals. All Done! I think this bundle will definitely see a lot of ink, it is so lovely to create with. My project for this one also features my current fave Stripes & Splatters 3D embossing folder...It is just perfect for adding subtle texture. Inkpad colours are Fresh Freesia-Mango Melody-Cajun Craze-Old Olive, with a Kraft sentiment and c Linen Thread...It's sweet and it's simple. Thanks for stopping by! All supplies used are Stampin Up! Next up is Mike and l know he will have something fabulously creative to share!
Last week I shared three projects with the Sending Smiles bundle seen here. I think it's one of the best choices in the new Annual Catalog by Stampin' Up! I also wanted to use the Pretty Prints designer paper and chose the Bermuda Bay sheet in the package. I also wanted to use one of the new In Colors and settled on Sweet Sorbet. Next I had to choose a coordinating color to soften these two vibrant colors and settled...
So, I finally got my own Sending Smiles Bundle. The flowers and sentiments just make me happy! I saw a version using Mango Melody and the retiring Flowering Fields DSP. This bundle can be used for so many occasions and sentiments! Measurements: Mango Melody: 1/2 sheet sheet cut LENGTHWISE, scraps Flowering Fields DSP: 2" x 4 1/4" Basic White: 2 3/4" x 4" (rectangle), scraps Early Espresso: 1 1/2" x 4" To Make This Card: Attach DSP to folded Mango Melody card, as shown. Cut scalloped rectangle from White piece. Add to card. Stamp 2 "daisies" in Mango Melody ink. Stamp largest "stem/leaves" in Parakeet Party (N). Cut out with corresponding dies. (Note: you might want to consider cutting out the "stem/leaves" with an Adhesive Backed Sheet! I wish I had!) Arrange onto White piece as shown. I used Dimensionals. Cut out "sending" detail die from Early Espresso cardstock. Use "green glue" and attach to card where shown. (Note: I have also tried Adhesive Sheets for the "detailed" words, but I had trouble "controlling" it. But you can try it yourself and see!) Stamp sentiment in Early Espresso Ink. Cut out with shorter label die. Add to card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Finish with scattered, new InColor Opal Dots and the new, Rustic Metallic Dots. And Wink of Stella on the flower centers. Stampin' Up! Sending Smiles Stamp Set, Wildflower Path Stamp Set, Fabulous Frames Dies, Customer Thank You Cards
Hi Everyone, The theme for Share it on a Sunday is 'Masking', one of my favourite techniques. For this card I have used the lovely flowers from the Framed Occasions stamp set and the words are from the Sending Smiles Bundle and I have used the 2022-2024 In Colours too. Materials 1 piece of Tahitian tide card stock 5 7/8" x 8 1/4", 1 piece 1 1/4" x 5 5/8" 2 pieces of basic white card 3 7/8" x 5 5/8", 1 piece 1 1/4" x 5 5/8", scrap for the die cut Sending Smiles stamp set Sending dies Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine Framed Occasions stamp set Tahitian tide ink Sweet Sorbet ink Starry Sky ink Parakeet Party ink Orchid Oasis ink Trimmer Simply Scored Bone Folder Multipurpose adhesive Dimensionals Iridescent Pearls Brushed Brass Butterflies Take Your Pick Tool Instructions On the long side score the Tahitian Tide card at 4 1/8" and fold and burnish to make the card base. Secure the strip of white card across one of the large pieces of white card where you want the strip of coloured card to be on the finished card. I've just used a couple of post it notes. Stamp your design above and below this piece so that the design will shown either side of it on the completed card (see pictures). When you are happy with the design, carefully take away the strip which should leave a white strip across the stamped image. Adhere this larger piece to the card front and then add the Tahitian tide strip over the blank area (see picture). Stamp the word 'Sending' on a scrap of white card and die cut with the shadow die, adhere to the centre of the strip on dimensionals. Stamp another sentiment on the remaining white card and decorate with some leaves, then adhere to the inside of the card. I've added some iridescent pearls to the strip and some butterflies in amongst the flowers to finish off my card. I hope you like it and will give this technique a try. Hello and welcome. It's time to share a new Just Add Ink challenge project. This week we need to add large letters or numbers. Who doesn't love a large sentiment. I couldn't resist using my favourite Sending dies again. They're just such a lovely font and of course their size always makes a great focal point. I teamed them with the gorgeous Ginkgo Branch dies and one of the embossing folders in the new Basics 3d 3-pack. Here's how it turned out. This was one of those cards that started off with one idea and turned into another. I'd spotted a fun springboard fold card by Susan Campfield that I wanted to try. I started by converting Susan's US sizing to suit my A4 cardstock, but in the end decided not to add the clever springy bits, just the card shape. It's such a fun idea though that I'll definitely try making another springy version. Thanks so much, Susan for the great idea. This also turned out to be a fond farewell to the beautiful Mint Macaron, which is one of the colours leaving our collection this month. It's one I'm quite sad to lose as it's a really lovely shade. Have you loved it too? Of course it would look lovely in so many other colours too. Back to those gorgeous Ginkgo Leaves dies though - which are also not carrying over. See my note further below. I cut the large shape for the front, and decided to leave the cut-out pieces in place - lots of mini dimensionals holding the pieces in! The Sending word dies (letter and outline) were a perfect pairing with the delicate ginkgo. Inside I stamped a sentiment from Pansy Patch (it works really well with the swirly 'sending') cut it out with a pierced square from the Stylish Shapes dies and added some more gingham paper behind it. Another little ginkgo die cut continues the theme inside. This is how the card looks flat-ish. How lovely is the cross-hatching texture of the embossing folder too? And this is how it looks from the top. The Ginkgo Branch stamp set and dies are NOT carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue but the good news is that both the dies and stamp set are 60% off now (dies were, $63, now $25.20, and the stamps were $41, now 16.40).They're only available until 2 May, unless they sell out first. You'll find them both in my online store here. Don't order the bundle option as the discount is not on there somehow! Here's what they both look like. Beautiful huh and so useful for so many cards? So that's my 'large letter' card. I hope you found something you liked and want to try. Head to the Just Add Ink challenge blog to see all our challenge projects. You're sure to find ideas you'll love. Take a look at the full card supply list here in my Stampin' Up! store. Note that once retiring items are unavailable to order they'll disappear from the list. Thanks very much for visiting today. I really appreciate you being here (and leaving a comment too). It was my 16 year Stampin' Up! anniversary yesterday so I'm still feeling the love from all the lovely messages I've received from Stampin' Up! friends, customers and fellow Demonstrators. I don't ride motorcycles (I barely drive my car anymore), but I once owned a highlighter yellow scooter. Still, I'm drawn to the colors and patterns in the Ready to Ride Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love the shiny designs and retro graphics in this pack of papers - such
