So I visited Sculptureum twice during December! (Getting my culture fix good and proper!) I had such a great time when I visited for our office Christmas party at the beginning of the month that I made sure to include it on our itinerary when my sister and her family were visiting us over Christmas. It was that good! Okay, so you're probably wondering what Sculptureum is, at this point. Well, in short, it's a delightful destination situated on a 25-acre property that includes a restaurant, beautiful surrounding gardens filled with extraordinary sculptures, and a cute art gallery - all featuring pieces collected over the years by the owners. If you happen to be visiting Auckland (and even if you live here) and you're looking for a great place to have lunch, wander around an inspiring and restful garden and experience a charming art gallery packed with a fascinating collection of modern art - then make sure you don't miss Sculptureum Gardens and Galleries in Matakana, just north of Auckland. You definitely won't be disappointed. (And if you're wanting to stop for lunch, be sure to book a table as they can get quite busy in season.)
