Hello and welcome to the My Favorite Things Blueprint challenge for the month of June. This month we're using blueprints dies that have stitched detail on them... my absolute favourite kind of dies! I love the detail that the faux stitched design adds to die cuts and I use them all the time when I create cards. For my card today, I used the Blueprints 25 and Blueprints 29 die-namics to add stitched detail to my cardstock panel as well and my sentiment banner. I stamped my flower and leaf images onto a cardstock panel and then I added black embossed detail with the scribble flower design that coordinates with the solid stamp, on top. Once I had the flowers done, I diecut the entire panel with a stitched rectangle die from Blueprints 29 and I adhered it onto a black cardstock mat. I diecut three of the stitched banners from the Blueprints 25 die-namics using white cardstock, silver glitter paper and a piece of vellum. I stamped the sentiment on the white banner and adhered them all together before stapling them to the stamped panel. I finished the card by adding clear sequins to the card front and then I adhered the entire panel to a Grout Gray card base. Make sure to head over to the MFT blog to see what the rest of the creative team created for this months challenge. ;) Supplies InLinkz.com

Hello everyone, it’s time for a brand new Color Throwdown Challenge! Wanda is our hostess this week and her colors are based on a sweet scene. My card started with a Sweet Tooth card stock base, then I applied a watercolor wash on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Peerless Watercolors and a waterbrush. I stamped the sentiment from Thanks So Very Much with Black Licorice hybrid ink, tied around some baker’s twine, and and popped it up on the card base with foam mounting tape. Then I stamped up images from LJD Scribble Roses, cut them out with LJD Scribble Roses Die-namics, colored with Peerless Watercolors, and adhered them to the card front with hot glue and foam. To finish off I added some enamel dots. And that’s it from me! Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD400 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use #ctd400 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented July Guest Designer, Kim Singdahlsen! Amy Rohl Amy Rysavy Barbara Anders (

Hi everyone! Happy Friday! I am so glad to be back stamping! It’s been a little quiet here on my blog as I lost my grandmother this past Sunday. It’s been quite a long, sad week, and I am SUPER happy to have this fabulous new MFT Release to put a smile on my face! I have a card to share with you today using the gorgeous new Encouraging Words set, Double Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics, LJD Scribble Roses Die-namics and LJD Scribble Roses Overlay Die-namics! I started by cutting a panel of Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics, and I stamped “Thanks for being there” using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I layered this panel on top of a panel of Grout Gray Card Stock, also cut with the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics and embossed with the new Wonky Chevron Stencil and Embossing pad Duo. I then added that to a panel of Sweet Tooth Card Stock cut with Blueprints 11 Die-namics. I LOVE the new Gold Shine Card Stock and cut a panel of it using Blueprints 2 Die-namics. We're here again with another MFT Color Challenge! Join us as we create with this saturated color combination. To learn more about saturation, be sure to visit this post at the My Favorite Things blog. This challenge features intense hues to inspire you — Blueberry, Peach Bellini, Persimmon, and Green Room. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this color combination and be sure to link your project below for a chance at a My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20. Your MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team is here again with six inspiring cards using this color palette. Let's see what has been going on in their creative minds. Alice got inventive with the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up Die-namics. What a clever way to use just portions of the cover-up to feature the four colors from MFT Color Challenge 27! Erin Lee created a mug full of fresh poppies and layed them against a neutral striped background. I love how she situated the stripes horizontally to give the mug a place to rest. It almost appears like it's sitting on the kitchen windowsill. Jill used the Fringe Die-namics to feature the colors, and her ingenious use of the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics adds a subtle curve to the fringe. The only neutral she used was gold and a tiny bit of white stitching giving this design a super saturated look. Miriam took the two shades of orange as a chance to create pretty flowers with the Scribble Roses stamp set and Die-namics. The Green Room leaves are a logical next step, and the orange flowers look perfect on a Blueberry background — the complementary color of orange. Well played! Vera created SUCH a pretty background by using the four colors in conjunction with the Blissful Blooms stamp set. The jaunty angle of the sentiment gives this card a fresh and unexpected look. Veronica shows another SUPER inventive way to create using the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up. Once she die cut the background, she stamped on it to give it some depth, and then she eliminated the negative portions of the die. Next she layered it over a rectangle in her signature layering style. Top it all of with a pretty butterfly and lush roses, and the colors become the star of the show! Congratulations, Mandy LaCroix! You are the randomly selected winner of the MFT Color Challenge. You can view all the entries from the last challenge HERE. If you are looking for further color inspiration, feel free to download past MFT Color Combinations HERE. If you haven't had the chance, be sure to check out the fun at the My Favorite Things blog as we are celebrating our 3rd and final session of MFT Summer School! Welcome to Day 5 of MFT's March Release Countdown! New stamp sets, new Die-namics, new stencils, and five new pretty colors of card stock and inks will all be available on March 3rd at 10:00 PM EST. I have a couple of cards to share with you today. My first project features the new Lisa Johnson Stamp Set, Circle Scribble Flowers, along with the coordinating Circle Scribble Flowers and Scribbles Die-namics. I cut the front panel from watercolor paper with a die in Blueprints 8 and then just watercolored the background with the Banana Split Premium Dye Ink Refill. I created the frame with the new Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Square STAX Die-namics cut from Wild Wisteria Prestige Card Stock. The sentiment is from the new Totally Happy Stamp Set and cut out with the Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics. To create each of the flowers I stamped the flower, cut it out with the Circle Scribble Flowers Die-namics and then used the Scribbles Die-namics to add the detail. I used Premium Dye Ink and Card Stock in Wild Wisteria, Lemon Chiffon, and Ripe Raspberry. For the leaves I used Sour Apple Card Stock, stamped the detail with Gumdrop Green Premium Dye Ink, and added some highlights with a Copic Marker. On the inside I stamped another sentiment from the Totally Happy Stamp Set. My second card is put together quickly and easily with the new Blueprints 23 Die-namics. The front panel is cut from Peach Bellini Prestige Card Stock. The sentiment is included in the new Totally Happy Stamp Set. To create my own patterned paper I used the Circle Scribble Flowers Stamp Set. I stamped a variety of different sized flowers and leaves with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink on Smooth White Card Stock, and embossed with white embossing powder. Then using a sponge dauber I added the color, using two different ink colors in the same color family on each flower. (Links to the inks are listed below). I added the sequins with a die in Blueprints 23. I used a white glitter paper from my stash and sponged on Ripe Raspberry Dye Ink so that the sequins matched the card. On the inside is another great sentiment from the Totally Happy Stamp Set. Thanks for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow with another Countdown Post. Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! It’s time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge, and this week, Vickie has challenged us to use red, black & white! Such a bold combination! For my card, I started with a panel of Smooth White Card Stock cut using the new A2 Rectangle STAX 2 Die-namics, and added a mat of Smooth White Card Stock cut using the A2 Rectangle STAX 1 Die-namics. The leaves were cut from Gold Sparkle Card Stock using the Layered Leaves Die-namics. The sentiment panel was cut from Smooth White Card Stock using the Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics, and I stamped “I’M THINKING OF YOU TODAY” from All Smiles using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. All good things come to an end, so today is my last day as Guest Designer for My Favorite Things. I really enjoyed being their guest. These are sneaks of the cards I posted on their blog today: You will find the cards + instructions here on the MFT blog. And because I couldn't help it and loved playing with the stamps and dies, I made more and more cards. Here are some of them: Here I embossed the Scribble Roses and the sentiment from Encouraging Words onto vellum and assembled everything over a piece of black and white striped pp. Love gold + black + white. Although it is very difficult to take a good photo of this with all the vellum. One more with LJD Scribble Roses: For this one, I created a background with watercolors and die-cut the bases for the roses from it. Then I assembled them with the white tops and adhered them to the card, using foam tape for more dimension. Again, this was combined with the Encouraging Words set. I made even more cards, but will post these later. For now, thank you so much for stopping by! Vanessa
I have a fun card today, made for the Share Joy Challenge for this week! They always give us a choice of 2 challenges - I chose the colors. supplies: white, black, yellow, Doll Pink and Green Apple cardstock, dp from MFT Dots & Stripes Sorbet paper pack, Die-Namics Scribble Roses dies, Simon's Single Rose leaves, woodgrain paper and joy die from Taylored Expressions, Scrapbook Adhesives foam squares to raise center panel I doubled up the flowers, using both colors on each flower, gluing down only the centers of the 2nd layers, and raising the rest of the flower to give it a little more dimension. I used the heart from the joy sentiment as flower centers - a good way to bring more of the black into the design! Here's our inspiration:

Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this color combination and be sure to link your project below for a chance at a My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20. Your MFT Challenge & Inspiration Team is here again with six inspiring cards using this color palette. Let's see what has been going on in their creative minds. Alice colored up a cute elf from the Santa's Elves stamp set as a result of this color combination. I love how she used the Abstract Cover-Up Die-namics for a wonky little sidewalk. Erin Lee sets a snowy white flower using the Poinsettia Die-namics on a deep blue background for this gorgeous Christmas card. Her touches of gold bring a lovely sophistication to her design. Jill uses the colors for a graphic wintry scene using the Snow Drifts Cover-Up Die-namics as a backdrop for images cut using the Winter Wonderland Die-namics. I'm awfully impressed with her precision stitching! Miriam sees the world in this color combination with Factory Green land and After Midnight sea using the You Mean the World to Me Centerpiece Die-namics. The Cranberry Cocktail heart is the perfect touch, and she adds some neutral stripes to balance out the design. Vera's elf is dressed to be the perfect counterpart to Alice's in red and green. He's standing proudly against a brick wall that she created using the Small Brick Wall stencil. I love how smoothly and completely the ink covers the stamps from the Label Maker Sentiments set! Veronica's Sweater Stitch background sets the tone for her soft and pretty design featuring the Scribble Roses stamps and Die-namics. The addition of the gold leaves using the Layered Leaves Die-namics is a chic touch to this feminine design. Congratulations, Keeway! You are the randomly selected winner of the MFT Color Challenge. Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! It’s time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, and this week, we are up to SSSC291! I really enjoyed working with this sketch! I went with flowers for the three elements on my card, but if you play along you can use any shape that you like! My flowers were cut from Cotton Candy Card Stock and Ripe Raspberry Prestige Card Stock using the LJD Circle Scribble Flowers Die-namics and the LJD Scribbles Die-namics. I LOVE these flowers! The leaves were cut from Gumdrop Green Card Stock were also cut with the LJD Circle Scribble Flowers Die-namics. The sentiment panel was cut from Sweet Tooth Card Stock using the Stitched Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics and stamped with “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” from MSTN Things With Wings using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. The main panel was cut using the Four Way Chevron Cover Up Die-namics. I cut the frame from Black Licorice Prestige Card Stock, and then cut Steel Grey Card Stock and Gravel Gray Prestige Card Stock also using the Four Way Chevron Cover Up Die-namics and I then inlaid the chevrons, alternating the Steel Grey Card Stock chevrons and the Gravel Gray Prestige Card Stock chevrons. I then arranged the flowers and sentiment panel, popping them up with Jody Boosters, on top of the background I created, and I finished off the card with a trio of rhinestones. Hi Everyone, Yippie - once again it is Day 5 of MFT Release Countdown Week, and I've had so much fun with this month's release. For example these wonderful roses and doubble stitched circles and rectangles will be available in the MFT store on the 4th of August ; I simply diecut the two parts of the rose in smooth White cardstock and then inked the top one with sno cone ink. The botom part was inked with blu raspberry and tropical teal using daubers. I just love the dimension these two diecuts create! You will see ather ways to use these dies by stopping by at my talented teamies' blogs !
