This color combination (Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Basic Beige and Crumb Cake) really takes the Stampin’ Up! Lovely & Sweet bundle to a new level of chic. The simple, die cut florals add a p
My Mother, unfortunately the early photos aren't dated, but I think the one on the left is circa 1930, the middle 1946-1948. I imagine the center photo was taken at Easter since she is wearing a corsage, they did that back then and there are a number of EAster photos. The other thing is to look at the lovely suit she is wearing. I am sure that she sewed it. My mother was an incredible seamstress and made all my clothes when I was growing up. She tailored sports jackets for my Dad, what a talent she had, I did not inherit her love of sewing!! I used the the beautiful Glitz Love Games for this LO. I love the poppy red in these papers. I made the red poppies, see my poppy tut, link on my sidebar. The wonderful swirly leaves are cut with a Heartfelt Creations/Spellbinders die. The black swirls are stamped images. They are Inkadinkadoo and I got them at Michaels. I like them, I bet you will see them again! Oh the Dusty Attic chipboard colum and pot with the ferns. They are so lovely and add the perfect touch fo class to a layout. I painted the column first with a whitewash of acrylic antique white. Then I used biscotti perfect pearls to paint inside the column and the accents on the column. The pot was painted first with a good coat of biscotti perfect pearls. After that dried I took a very find paintbrush and lightly painted random lines with capuccino perfect pearls to imitate marbling. After that dried I added a coat of Crackle Accents which i discovered does not stick very well to perfect pearls so I painted over it all with Diamond Glaze and it seems to be holding just fine. I also added some gold perfect pearls to accentuate the design on the pot. Ther fern leaves are also Dusty Attic and they have been coated with Olive Vine Glimmer Mist. Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope all your days are stellar!!

Hi everyone, It's Marta Lapkowska here. Firstly I wish to say thank you for having me here and giving me this wonderful opportunity to meet you all and create with fantastic PaperArtsy products. A few words about me ? From the bottom of my heart I am a creative mind. Since I remember I have loved art and crafts and had passion for innovative techniques. Spraying, painting, stamping and more! From cards and tags to layouts, mixed media canvases, journal pages and altered objects. I am mixed media girl that loves teaching people and share love for art. Abstract art is one on my favourite themes. There are no rules, no restrictions... you are free. Journaling works in the same order, there is no set paths, we have complete freedom of creating. I started my project by covering my page with four different colours of Fresco Finish paints Lilac, Spanish Mulberry, Mermaid and Beach Hut. I love using my fingers instead of brush, you have great colour control. To create some texture I used stencil and modeling paste with Fresco Finish paint China and Concrete. After drying my page I started stamping. I used Emma Godfrey's stamp EEG07. Circles are always great fun. This is definitely a must have stamp set. Lastly I played around with the circles by painting them with Fresco Finish paints to create some depth. I used white pen to doodle around the stamps. I also diluted paint with water and added some splashes to my page. Colours of Fresco Finish paints are amazing, rich and vibrant. You will love how the colours blend in together. Abstract art, circles especially are perfect for journaling beginners. I hope this page inspired you to create your own journal spread. Journaling is fantastic way let go, to explore the techniques and experiment. If you wish to meet me and attend my workshops in March in UK please follow my Social Media to stay tune for more details to come. Here is Art Workshops Facebook Page where you can find my classes. Feel free to watch my VIDEO tutorials here on my YouTube channel. You can also get in touch with my by Facebook, Blog, Instagram and Pinterest. Wishing you a great creative time, Marta x We would love you to join in with Challenge #21: Abstract Art. If you would like to join us in some abstract experimentation, then link what you make HERE. All links go in the draw to win a voucher to spend on products of your choice from the PaperArtsy online store. The Abstract link will close 17:00 (London Time) Sunday, Nov 22nd winner will be announced 2 hours later at 19:00.
Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! We are getting closer and closer to the fabulous June MFT Release! All of the new products will be released on Tuesday, June 6th at 10PM right HERE in the MFT Boutique! Today I have a card to share with you using the DARLING new Pure Innocence Bed Rest and Pure Innocence Bed Rest Die-namics, and I also used one of the two new paper packs, the Tiny Hearts Pastels Paper Pack (LOVE). I LOVE the entire Pure Innocence line, and this sweet new Pure Innocence Bed Rest is certainly no exception! I cut her from X-Press It Blending Card using the Pure Innocence Bed Rest Die-namics and then stamped her with Pure Innocence Bed Rest using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink. I colored her with Copic Markers and paper pieced her comforter using a pattern from the new Tiny Hearts Pastels Paper Pack. I popped her up with Foam Tape onto a panel of Natural Card Stock cut with the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. The main panel of Smooth White Card Stock was cut using Blueprints 13 Die-namics, and I added another piece of patterned paper from Tiny Hearts Pastels Paper Pack using the Vertical Stitched Strips Die-namics. I added a scalloped border cut from Natural Card Stock using the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die-namics. I wrapped the panel with Hemp Cord and then added a Hemp Cord bow. The sentiment panel was cut from Smooth White Card Stock using the new Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips and I stamped "Get Well Soon” from Pure Innocence Bed Rest using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. Napkin Fold cards definitely have the WOW factor! They are made from a single sheet of cardstock that folds inward to form a kind of pouch that would be perfect for hiding a gift card or some money. You can decorate the card with co-ordinating pieces of patterned paper and an embellished belly band to hold everything together. Fold Template 1. Start with a sheet of cardstock measuring 11" x 11". Score at 23/4" and again at 81/4". Turn the cardstock 90 degrees and score again at 23/4" and 81/4". 2. Fold and crease along each score line. Your cardstock should look like the photo below. 3. Find the centre point of the cardstock by measuring 51/2" from each edge toward the middle. Mark the centre with a small dot. 4. Fold each corner into the centre. Notice how my score lines line up as I fold. 5. Open the cardstock out again. It should look like the picture below. 6. Now it's time to fold it up. Start by pushing in on one side. Hold down the large triangle with your fingers, then bring the corners of the cardstock back into the centre. Do this on all four sides. (I practiced this step with printer paper a few times before I got the hang of it.) 7. Now take one corner and fold it backward, lining up all the edges and points. Crease well, and repeat for the remaining three points. 8. You've now finished creating the base card. All that's left is the decorating... the fun part! 9. To decorate, you'll need three sheets of co-ordinating patterned paper. One that measures 5" x 5" and two that measure 43/4" x 43/4". 10. Start with the paper measuring 5" x 5". Use your trimmer or a craft knife to cut from one corner to the other so you end up with two large triangles. 11. Cut both triangles in half again so you end up with four smaller triangles. Set them aside. 12. Cut the two 43/4" x 43/4" pieces of patterned paper in the same way so you end up with four triangles from each sheet of paper. Now cut each of these small triangles once more so you have eight tiny triangles from each sheet of paper. 13. You should now have four large triangles and sixteen small triangles. 14. These triangles will fit perfectly inside each of the creases you made on your card, with a little border around the edges. If desired, ink the edges of your patterned paper and cardstock before you adhere them together. 15. Cut a 51/4" x 51/4" piece of neutral cardstock for the centre of the card. This is where you will add your handwritten message so make sure the cardstock you use isn't too textured or dark in colour. Add a stamped image and sentiment then adhere to the centre panel of the card with double sided tape. 16. Create a belly band from 12" strips of cardstock and patterned paper. You can make the band as wide as you like. I cut a 2" strip of vanilla cardstock, a 1" strip of red cardstock and a 3/4" strip of patterned paper for my band. 17. Fold the band around your card to get the correct measurement. Overlap and secure the ends at the front of the card. 18. Embellish a little disc or tag to cover the join and add some extra strength to the band. 19. Fold your card and slip the band over to keep everything together. Done!
